The Marozi Pride

The following characters are heavily inspired by Osamu Tezuka Productions's animated series Kimba the White Lion. All credit for the world building goes to them. Specklerex the Marozi is a creation of tezuka Productions and belongs to them. 

The Marozi Pride is a group of spotted lions who live in the mountains neighboring Panja's Jungle. They are the last pride of their sub-species, which is said to be the ancestor of all lions.

Pawa

Pawa (meaning "power" in Japanese) is the nephew of Specklerex, the previous leader of the pride. Like his predecesor, Pawa is prideful and closed-minded. He carried over the sentiment that genetic mutations (like leucicism) affect the worth of a lion, and that their spotted coats (aka, genetic purity) makes the marozi superior to their peers. Pawa is a tyrant who believes that his title of "King" grants him everything he desires and he is not above disproportionally punishing those who get in the way of want he wants of believes in. Unlike his uncle, who was attentive to criticism and had a code of honour, Pawa is completely lawless.

Hope

Pawa's mate and queen. Hope has been run down after years of living in such a secluded and powerless state. Although the lioness attempts to make the load lighter to bear for her pride, her efforts are often undermined or completely deflected by Pawa. The pride sees her an ally to Pawa ethically questionable behavior. This doesn't deter her, as she always finds ways to circle backand either soften conflicts or blows in favour of her pride. Altough quiet to the point of being mistaken as mute, Hope is perseverant and driven by her love for her neighbor. She is motherly and supportive, but is constantly afraid that her help is unvaluable or unappreciated. She is Kuro's biological mother. 

Teega (name subject to change)

Teega is Kuro's twin sister who remained in the mountains. Disowned by her father because of her brother's genetic imperfection, Teega is shun by her pride (who supports Pawa's belief of genetic superiority). Although Hope deseperately wanted to raise her without her mate's knowledge, the she-cub has managed on her own. She is self-made and highly independant. Although her pride insists that solitude is against a lion's nature, Teega has removed herself from her home to live free from their ideological burdens. She is curious and socially starved. Her survival skills are mediocre at best, given her young age, but she fortunately doesn't have to face many natural predators. 

Beika (name subject to change)

Beika is Pawa's hand-picked heirm who was forcefully adopted from another marozi couple shortly after being born. He is unaware of this and believes that he is Hope's biological son, and she treats him as such. Because of his young age, Beika is unaware of the trauma and abuse the pride is being subjected to. He is energetic, friendly and talkative. All agree that this phase will not last, but Hope is secretly nurturing him in the hopes that he will not perpetuate his father's behavior.

Overall, the pride includes a handful of full-grown lionesses, a couple of lions and many cubs. There are one or two elders. The adult lions are the same ones who lived during Leo's reign. Although they remember him and Specklerex's approval, Pawa has regressed the situation so that they no longer are welcoming to strange lions, or at least feel unsafe to be.
