Rikki Taum

Riki Taum, a novelist who writes about vampires, shares stories about a vampire she  came into contact with. On a rainy night she is kidnapped and taken to Underblood, a desolate, run-down city where vampires are confined to. She's held captive by noble vampires and consumes media where vapires are the heores. She continues publishing her work, surveilled by the crown prince, and the longer she stays in their care the more she sees life from their point of view. She overhears the family's plan to occupy and control human cities, finally stepping out of the life of oppression.

Eventually she is set free and tries to warn the nearest city, but pleads for peace and reconciliation with the vampires. Her pleads may not be heard...

oh yea, Riki has a new human husband patiently waiting for her return. Mr. Taum might have some competition…

eventually, she becomes the new vampire queen. Mr. Taum is allowed to remain at her side as her second husband.
