Backstory

Childhood

41438367_AumYjw6Ro4dOd6b.png
Lost in Dravania as a baby, Aeivre'ire drew the attention of the dragons of Anyx Trine due to her 'Dragon Soul' and was adopted by them.
The fate of her parents was unknown, although it was likely they were killed by a Bandersnatch near Tailfeather.
The dragons thought it was strange for a mortal to be born with a dragon soul, yet there was no trace of tainted dragonblood in her; meaning,
this Draconic essence was pure, not the muddied kind gained from being born of those who had consumed a dragon's blood or flesh.

Being raised by Dragons, Aeivre'ire became fluent in both Draconic and the Common language, learning both from her adoptive family.
The child reminded the dragons of the tale of Beth Draconic, an ancient hero of dragonkind who was human, but born with
the heart and soul of a dragon and could take on their form. This hero fought to save all creation, but ultimately perished
during the final battle along with the monster that threatened to destroy all of existence.

That story proved to be her favorite, and once she could speak, Aeivre'ire said she wanted to be a hero to her dragonkin as well.
However, when she turned eight, Aeivre'ire wandered far away, to the Chocobo Forest, since she was curious about the birds.
During this venture, she was attacked by a bear; in the end, she was rescued by a group of hunters from Tailfeather and taken in.

Aeivre'ire missed Anyx Trine, but she remembered that the dragons there had spoke often about taking her to live with her own kind
in order to learn more of the outside world, and have a "normal life" -- whatever that meant. When asked for her name, Aeivre'ire
took on the name of the ancient hero whom she admired: Beth Draconic, and forevermore, that was the only name she used.

'Beth' learned how to hunt at the young age of ten, thought she often fumbled with a bow and found herself more confident with a
sword. She practiced with the hunters of Tailfeather until she became somewhat proficient. Two years later, she heard about Ishgard and their
knights, and when a recruiter came gathering hopefuls, Beth applied to become a squire and said her farewells to Tailfeather, soon
heading on her way to Ishgard. Since she was a girl, Beth was not taken seriously as a squire, and often given menial tasks, much
unlike her male peers. She was too young to understand though, and thought it was because she was still young and new to the city.

She worked hard for the next two years to try and prove herself, but she soon realized that Ishgard was not meant to be her home.
She learned of the Dragonsong War, which the dragons of Anyx Trine only spoke of in hushed whispers around her--
she learned that Ishgardian Knights hunted dragons to 'keep the people safe' rather than bears and other monsters.
Disgusted, Beth took all the money she had saved to purchase passage to another country of Eorzea, Ul'Dah.

Unfortunately, being young and inexperienced in the ways of society, Beth was scammed into emptying
her coin purse by the man offering transportation. She had no love for money, however, and was happy
just to leave Ishgard behind. She hoped that one day she could return to Anyx Trine, but knew that
her dragonkin family would want her to go out and see the world and live her life.

Beth had a difficult time in Ul'Dah, since the people there cared more about money than for their fellow neighbor.
She had no gil, and no possessions other than a crystal necklace given to her by one of her dragon friends.
Driven by hunger and curiosity, Beth joined the Adventurer's Guild and took on odd jobs through the guild
in order to sustain her meager way of life. By the age of 15, she was the most well-liked of the novice adventurers,
but shrouded in mystery as she was, she had no true friends and became somewhat lonely.

Wanting to journey beyond the walls of the city, Beth saved up enough money for a chocobo chick and a week's worth of food before
venturing deep into arid Thanalan, drawn by wanderlust, curiosity and a thirst for further adventures. She ended up discovering a small
orphanage and befriended many of the children there who could relate to her loneliness and inspired by her stories.

These children became somewhat of a second family to Beth, who began entering gladiatorial matches
for up-and-coming young fighters in order to raise money to give the orphans a slightly better life.
Thanks to her never-before-seen Ishgardian swordplay, many were impressed with her uniqueness and strength,

noting that she was an exceptional child; she was soon taken under the Gladiator Guild's wing in order to hone her swordsmanship even further.

Working for the Adventurer's Guild and training with the Gladiator's Guild gave Beth little time
to visit the orphanage, but she often sent letters along with small sums of gil so they could have a good meal.

Young Adult

41438526_qNq9VdIbtVeD6Gd.png
Until the age of 18, Beth followed the same routine throughout most of her days. Her skill with the sword
continued to improve, and she was able to win bigger and better prizes from gladiatorial matches and take on
more difficult requests from the Adventurer's Guild--yet still, most of her missions did not take her too far from
Ul'Dah. Then, one fateful day, she went to visit the orphanage after a long absence; despite her busy schedule,
something nagged her that she should go. When she arrived, she saw a horrific sight: the orphanage was in flames,
the air filled with the smell of blood and ash. Horrified, Beth drew her blade and approached the building.

She found no survivors inside, but soon heard a scream from nearby and went to investigate.
She found one of the young children, a Miqo'te girl named Pellie, being dragged away by an unknown man.
The girl suffered many burns and was covered in bruises, cuts and dirt; she saw Beth and cried out to her.
The man threatened to slit the girl's throat if Beth did not leave quietly, but she could not let Pellie be taken.

Praying that her training and skills would be enough, she dashed forward to save Pellie;
filled with rage and fear, she fought with the man, who was clearly going to kill her if he had the chance.
Overtaken with adrenaline and survival instincts, Beth ended up killing the man, staining herself with his blood.
Horrified, she dropped her weapon and stepped back from the corpse and Pellie ran into her blood-soaked arms, bawling.

With no time to process what had happened, Beth brought Pellie to Ul'Dah for treatment.
She reported the incident to the Immortal Flames, who lamented that it must have been the work
of a notorious child trafficking group that had been capturing children throughout Eorzea.

Angry that there was nothing to be done, Beth decided to take matters into her own hands.
Luckily, Pellie survived the ordeal, but would likely suffer a lifetime of psychological damage
the girl was adopted by the Gladiator's Guild after Beth begged them for help and informed them
that she would soon be departing on a journey. She then went to the Adventurer's Guild seeking
information about the child trafficking group in Eorzea and made it her mission to put an end to them.

After leaving Ul'Dah with her chocobo Sprite, now a fully-grown chocobo whom she could
ride as a mount, Beth began keeping a diary to catalogue her adventures and findings.

She spent the next three years travelling Eorzea, thwarting the slavers and kidnappers at every turn
and freeing captured children from all the city states. Her power seemed to grow with age, and she
began dabbling with different magicks when she was 19, becoming quite proficient with Black and White
Magic near the end of her quest. She hoped that she would never again have to kill a man with her own
two hands and vowed to use her sword only to protect, unless strictly necessary.

With little help from the local authorities from each city, Beth was able to completely stamp out
the child trafficking and slaver group from the face of Eorzea by the time she was 21. She received recognition
from the Grand Companies and offered a chance to join her company of choosing. In the end,
she joined the Maelstrom and was given another chocobo as a reward; she named this chocobo Meexy.

Though she always kept herself busy with work and other duties, Beth found herself longing for
something more. Who was she? What was her purpose? Where did she really come from?
Though many asked themselves these questions, Beth had difficulties grappling with her vast loneliness
and buried herself in work so she simply did not have the time to think or feel anything.

She had many companions and admirers within the Maelstrom and the Adventurer's Guild, though
Beth felt no strong connections to any of them. For years she simply "went through the motions", gradually
rising through the ranks of the Maelstrom and becoming a trusted officer. Her missions for the Maelstrom and
the Adventurer's Guild sent her across Eorzea, earning her no small amount of renown.

At the age of 25, she decided she needed a change of pace in her life after receiving a letter from Pellie and took on fewer
missions from the Maelstrom and the Adventurer's Guild, finishing up all of her outstanding work before returning
to Ul'Dah--a place she had one loathed had now become just another city. The place was much the same as it was before,
though perhaps the streets were filled with even more corruption and pilfering than she had remembered.

Pellie was doing quite well for herself, having become a fledgling gladiator. She looked stronger, more resolute;
she told her she had a purpose now, to be just like her 'hero' and to protect those without the means to protect
themselves. Pellie explained that she wanted to be a guard when she was old enough, and hoped to make the city
a better place. Beth was glad that the girl had moved on from that dark past, in no small part thanks to the fact
that the child trafficking ring was rooted out. The two swapped many stories and Beth secretly
left her young friend with a small fortune hidden away in a gift package before departing the city.

She hoped that Pellie would find a happy future for herself, though Beth began to wonder
what exactly her own calling would be. Adventuring had always been something she adored,
but perhaps it was the thrill of discovering something new that truly drew her in to the trade.
There was so much more to learn, to find, and someday she hoped to know the truth of her origins.

Beth spent the following two years traveling Eorzea and visiting its various Guilds, learning what she could
of the different fighting styles and magicks that could be useful for the future. Filled to the brim with newfound
knowledge and abilities, Beth returned to Limsa Lominsa, still unsure of what to do with her life.

Then, one day, at the age of 27, she received a particular mission: to hunt down a rampaging voidsent near Ul'Dah.
The details of the mission made her blood go cold--many guards of the city were slain attempting to put down the beast.

Beth quickly travelled to Thanalan, working with a tracker to hunt down the monster.
When it was found, she fought it without fear, able to defeat it relatively easily though not without consequence.
She suffered moderate to severe wounds from the battle, but discovered a peculiar item: a shining blue crystal.
As soon as she touched the crystal, she had a strange, muddled vision and heard a mysterious voice...

Little did she know at the time, this moment would permanently alter the course of her future.

After returning to Ul'Dah to treat her wounds, she checked in on Pellie...who thankfully was still alive.
She was a fresh recruit in the guard and immediately hugged Beth upon seeing her, having heard the news.
Pellie personally treated her wounds and tearfully thanked her for the gift she gave long ago; she said that the
money was used to build a new orphanage, as well as a shelter for the homeless who lived outside of the city's walls.

A Realm Reborn

41300198_z6xqg0puLdFJs4c.jpgAfter having defeated a voidsent, Beth was called upon more than ever to slay troublesome monsters,
the first of which was Ifrit, a summoned primal being possessing terrible power. Beth, having grown fond of fighting
so-called "impossible battles" looked forward to the challenge. Having no particular goals other than to learn the truth
of her origins, she hoped that travelling Eorzea felling monsters and fulfilling missions would someday give her a clue...

Though she knew it was unlikely, since she hailed from Dravania. One day, perhaps, her journey would take her back there...

After defeating Ifrit, a supposed godlike being, Beth became both feared and respected by the denizens of Eorzea.
She also earned the attention of a particular group: the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.
One day, she was tracked down by one of the members of the Scions, a man named Thancred, who suavely
invited her to meet with the group. Curious, Beth agreed to the meeting and was offered a chance to join the organization.

Much to Beth's surprise and curiosity, shortly after joining the Scions she found a suit of ruby-colored armor
left in the place where she often went to train or have a picnic alone. Beside the armor was a small note clearly
scrawled by a dragon--from Vidofnir. The dragon offered Beth her thoughts and wished her safe journeys.

She had no idea how this armor--the Drachen Armor--had made it to this place, but the writing was unmistakably
Vidofnir's, written in Draconic. From that day forward, she proudly donned the Drachen Armor and found herself
to be even stronger in battle, empowered by the armor's very scales. She knew not how it was so, but hoped
to one day meet with Vidofnir again in order to thank her for her kindness, even after all the years they had been apart.

Though for a dragon, those years had likely felt like days to her.

The Scions of the Seventh Dawn were the peacekeepers and mediators of Eorzea and fought to
end the primal threat. Primals, Beth learned, were summoned by the beast tribes and fed off the aether
of the land; if left unchecked, they would cause irreparable damage to the lands. As one who was immune to the
"tempering"--a phenomenon in which being in a primal's presence placed one under its thrall--Beth was an invaluable
asset to the Scions. Her course was thus charted: she was sent to lay low any and all primals that had been summoned.

Beth cared little for small talk and politics, and thus did she rarely spend much time with the Scions.
She continued writing in her diary, reflecting on how distant she had grown over the years, but still
did not feel any particular attachment to anyone or anything. She felt that she was wandering aimlessly
through life, but was grateful for the fact that she had been given a chance to have a purpose in fighting primals.

For once, she was uniquely needed and called upon. Perhaps, this shallow feeling would be enough to satisfy her.
However, after defeating several primals, Beth realized it was not. Still, the Scions of the Seventh Dawn proved to be
a pleasant group, save for one Alphinaud. He was the youngest Scion, though he had the biggest ego of them all.
Luckily, Beth spent most of what little leisure time she had in her chambers or out going on sporadic adventures.

After two years, at the age of 29, the situation in Eorzea seemed to be at a boiling point. Beth tried to keep her head low,
acting only as an executioner of the Scions' will, but it was inevitable that she would eventually be pulled into the politics
quickly brewing throughout the lands. One day, she found herself in Mor Dhona and met with a man named Rammbroes.

For the first time in years, she had received an interesting request: to explore the Crystal Tower. Beth had always adored
Mor Dhona's crystals and the looming, mysterious Crystal Tower in the distance from the first moment she set foot in the land.
She agreed to give whatever assistance she could, and soon after ran into Cid, who was also interested in the Tower.

Cid had been a familiar face by this time, having often offered his assistance to the Scions or appearing
wherever something "big" was happening. He was a reliable ally and technological genius to boot, not to mention
one of the few people Beth could converse with easily. She was tasked with locating and securing aethersand
of varying elemental properties across Eorzea which would then be used as 'keys' to open the path to the
Labyrinth of the Ancients; it was a simple enough mission, one that would give ample reward.

Beth had always felt unusually drawn to the crystals growing in Mor Dhona, and the Crystal Tower
was no exception. She did not know why, but just looking upon their glow in the night filled her with
a sense of distant nostalgia. For the first time in what felt like forever, her heart raced with excitement.

Meeting G'raha Tia

The aethersand proved easy enough to acquire... until it was time to search Urth's Gift for the wind-touched
aethersand. She had been warned beforehand that huge, rampaging boars made the forest their home, but when
she arrived, naught remained but fresh corpses--someone had been here recently. She searched for the aethersand
to no avail, and was soon taunted by a disembodied voice coming from the trees.

She searched for the source of the voice, who then taunted her again.

When was the last time someone had challenged her this way?

Beth pretended to be on her way, but sent her Carbuncle to search for the man responsible for taking her quarry
and seeing fit to test her patience. Once he was located, she sent her Bahamut-egi after him as well, knocking him
from the treetops. The man turned out to be a young Miqo'te man, scarlet-haired with one bright blood red eye and one that
was turquoise in color. He stared at her in shock when she asked his name, soon composing himself.

The man's name was G'raha Tia.detktnc-eab0664c-230d-4070-8ef5-8d8f9d53
Beth soon realized that this man had no malicious intent, but merely was teasing her.
She decided to give him a pass, finding his behavior somewhat amusing--if only because
she was able to startle him. He soon gave her another challenge, however; a race to the aethersand.

The location of her quarry was in La Noscea, and Beth decided to up the stakes a little more:
the loser was to treat the winner a meal at the nearest tavern at the end of the race. G'raha Tia agreed, sealing
his fate forevermore. She won the 'race' with ease as he observed her from afar, quite amazed by her skills
in dealing with the Ixali. As promised, G'raha Tia treated her to a meal; Beth decided to play nice and ate only
a pittance compared to her usual meals, getting to know G'raha Tia in the process.

He explained that he was also working with Rammbroes as a Student of Baldesion, hoping to
gain entry into the Crystal Tower. After explaining his less-than-enjoyable childhood and the circumstances
surrounding his red eye--or Allagan Eye--Beth sensed a kindred spirit in G'raha Tia's somewhat lonesome self.

In the days and weeks that followed, the pair often worked together to unlock the pathway to the Labyrinth of the Ancients.
Unfortunately, once the way was cleared, G'raha Tia was forbidden from entering the Labyrinth until it was dubbed safe to enter
by Beth. G'raha Tia, of course, had quite a childish streak and was very unhappy with the 'rules' set by the others; Beth, feeling
sorry for him, promised to give him an extremely detailed recount of everything she saw within the Labyrinth.

She then went on to ask--as the foremost Allagan scholar--all he knew of the Crystal Tower and what possible enemies
she may face within it. She wound up spending the night in his tent, listening to endless stories told with great passion;
eventually, as she was exhausted from fighting primals earlier in the day, she fell asleep on the floor in his tent. G'raha Tia then
lifted her and laid her to rest in his bed, while sleeping on the floor in a pile of blankets himself.

After this event, the two became somewhat fond of each other.

Once the Labyrinth of the Ancients had been cleared, Beth fulfilled her promise and gave G'raha Tia a
thorough report of everything she had seen and encountered, recounting with great excitement and detail her battles
within the Labyrinth, much to G'raha Tia's pleasure. Beth noticed that he seemed somewhat embarrassed by her straightforwardness,
but the way he listened and spoke to her with such passion and joy made something flutter within her heart.

It was a feeling unlike anything she had known before.
Spending time with G'raha Tia made her feel alive, like her world was suddenly painted with vivid, beautiful colors.

Best of all, was that he seemed to enjoy her company just as much.

Thus, the pair spent time together whenever Beth was not called away by her Scion duties, quickly growing closer
as the days went on. Even though the Labyrinth had been cleared, it would be some time before they would be able
to unlock the gates leading into the Crystal Tower, but Beth did not mind too much. Deep down, she worried that
G'raha Tia would end up as just another person she met in her journey, destined to part forevermore.

She knew it was selfish to think so, but nothing could change the truth of her heart.
However, despite her own feelings, she did truly hope to help grant G'raha Tia's dream and
help him discover the secrets of the Crystal Tower, even if it would inevitably lead to their parting.

As time went on, Beth became busier as more primals were being summoning around Eorzea.
Most days, she simply didn't have the energy to visit Mor Dhona and G'raha Tia, or had been confined
to the chirurgeons' ward. The days they spent apart, they pined for each other, though they had not yet
realized their budding feelings for one another, both having never been in love prior to meeting one another.

Small moments they shared together solidified their relationship and their feelings, eventually
culminating into a confession that occurred one night as Beth discovered G'raha Tia playing a melody on his harp.

Though he was embarrassed, he continued playing at her request; for some reason, the tune struck a chord in her heart,
and she began to shed tears. G'raha Tia's heart squeezed to see her looking sullen, so he began to sing as well. His angelic
voice only made her painful nostalgia even worse, and thus he abruptly stopped and embraced her.

Overwhelmed by his emotions, G'raha Tia confessed that he had fallen in love with her and could not bear
to see her cry, or look sad. Surprised, Beth felt her heart skip a beat; she admitted to feeling the same way for him,
and G'raha Tia could not keep himself from giving her a sweet, gentle first kiss.

Enjoying the sensation of their lips against one another, Beth returned G'raha Tia's affections,
who bashfully accepted her feelings with great joy. The two then shyly decided to become a couple,
later making a promise that no matter what the future holds, their hearts would always remain together.

41301006_8RA7Soo22zyKEt9.png
Unfortunately, the foreseeable future would not be kind to their blossoming romance. Although
they were able to gain entry into the Crystal Tower and ultimately sever the Cloud of Darkness's
ties to the world, G'raha Tia had awakened hidden 'memories' that bound him to the Crystal Tower.

Sensing that the Crystal Tower would somehow lead to their separation, Beth had gifted the diary
she had kept with her for many years to G'raha Tia, hoping that even if they were parted he would
always remember her. He, too, had foreseen this possible outcome and lamented such a thought;
he knew that if there would be a reason to leave her behind, it would surely be to safeguard her.

In the end, G'raha Tia decided to seal himself within the Crystal Tower, knowing that he had a part
to play in preserving the future. Though it pained him to say farewell to his promising new love, he
could not turn his back on his destiny, hoping that this sacrifice would make the future brighter.

Heavensward

After parting from G'raha Tia, Beth became even more reserved and distant than ever before.
She had great difficulties coping with the loneliness which plagued her incessantly, staving off
the negative emotions by plunging herself into endless battles, sometimes sustaining severe injuries due to
her headstrong behavior. She was often scolded by her companions in the Scions, who tried to console her,
but to no avail. Despite her pains, Beth was as always, a loyal and indispensable ally to the Scions.

Thanks to her, the Scions had been able to thwart many primals, Garlean leaders and other schemes.
However, one such scheme had brewed right under their noses: many of the Crystal Braves were traitors,
and soon they would be drawn into the chaotic stage of Ul'Dah.

One of her final missions before everything she knew collapsed into ruin was to observe the Keeper of the Lake
in Mor Dhona. Returning to Mor Dhona was extremely painful for Beth, spending most of her time there gazing
longingly at the distant Crystal Tower. Much to her surprise, she met Midgardsormr, Father of the Dragons,
in the deepest part of the ruin. Though he had been killed while fighting Garleans some time prior,
it seemed that not even death could stop one as mighty as he. The great dragon had lost much of his power,
however, but was interested in Beth for several reasons: that she was Hydaelyn's chosen and possessed a unique soul.

Yet he was not impressed by her current state, muddled and lonely as she was. Thus, he stripped her of her
Blessing of Light and challenged her to rekindle Hydaelyn's blessing, to rediscover what it means to be a
"Warrior of Light" and Her chosen one. By this point, Beth had grown accustomed to being punished and
losing things, so perhaps this was just more burden she was meant to bear. Midgardsormr promised to remain at her
side, to watch, to listen and to wait and see where the Warrior of Light's path would lead her, and if she was truly worthy.

However, she never could have imagined what was going to happen next, as the political conflict brewing
within Ul'Dah finally reached into a deadly conclusion which left the Scions stranded...

Everything happened so quickly that Beth could hardly process what had occurred; in the end, she was separated
from most of the other Scions, and the organization was framed for the assassination of
Ul'Dah's sultana, Nanamo. Thus, Beth was forced to flee from Eorzea with Tataru and Alphinaud to
none other than Ishgard. It had been over a decade since she left the snowy lands, but this was
not the way she imagined returning to the place she had once called home.

Beth grew even more cloistered than before, having been ousted from the lands she had once
been hailed as a 'hero' -- this gave her a painful reminder of just how fickle the people's love could be.
Lost again in a bout of depression after losing everything, she began to walk the path of a Dark Knight.

This path seemed well-suited for Beth in her current state, as she was able to use her pent-up negative
emotions as fuel for her abilities. While in Ishgard, Beth and the other Scions were taken in by Count Edmont
de Fortemps and befriended a young Elezen man by the name of Haurchefant Greystone. Though Beth's
cold exterior frightened off most who bothered her, Haurchefant could see past it all, noting her many kindnesses.

It had been quite some time since someone had attempted to make friendly conversation with her despite
her off-putting demeanor, but she surprisingly felt the ice around her heart thinning to speak with Haurchefant.
Oftentimes when he found her feeling depressed, he would bring her hot chocolate and talk with her deep into the night,
asking for her to tell him stories about her exploits. Many a time did he tell her that "a smile better suits a hero" and perhaps
after a hundred times of claiming it was so, Beth found herself smiling for the first time in months.

The Dragonsong War was the most common topic of Ishgard, as it had been when Beth lived there.
Perhaps now, she possessed the power to put an end to the bloodshed; at the very least, she could no
longer stand by and do nothing. Alphinaud, struck low by his failure with the Crystal Braves,
began to show signs of maturing as he wallowed in his misery. Beth offered him a firm hand of
friendship and companionship in his time of need, and the two of them soon formed a friendly bond.

Some people in the city soon began to remember Beth from her childhood years, recalling
the mysterious young female squire, though she avoided almost all of them with prejudice.

Before long, their journey to end the Dragonsong War brought them to meet new companions:
Ysayle and Estinien. Beth quite liked the both of them, though the pair seemed to despise each other.
Ysayle and Beth became fast friends, bonding over their love of dragonkind; Ysayle was keenly interested
in Beth's past, admitting to also being rescued by Vidofnir some time ago. She stated that the dragon often
mentioned a girl who had been found by the dragons of Anyx Trine, one who possessed a "dragon soul" and
Ysayle was ecstatic to finally meet the one she had heard so much about during her time in Dravania.

Beth's time spent travelling with Ysayle, Estinien and Alphinaud made her forget her loneliness little by little.
Whenever she was in Ishgard, Haurchefant was also sure to spend ample time keeping her company.
Perhaps she would finally be able to accept her parting from G'raha Tia, though she knew she would never stop
loving him, never stop hoping that they would be reunited somehow. Perhaps Cid would unseal the Crystal Tower
even sooner than she may think--spending time with her newfound friends gave her so much hope for the future.

As she strived to end the Dragonsong War and assist Ishgard however she could, she gradually reawakened her
Blessing of Light, and it was threefold stronger than before. Despite Beth and Ysayle's best efforts to end the war
without further bloodshed, Nidhogg was deaf to reason and reconciliation. Deep down, Beth understood his pain, but
she could not condone his endless slaughter. Though man had started the war with their betrayal, Nidhogg perpetuated
it and would do so until Ishgard lie in ruins. Unfortunately, she had no choice but to put he and his brood down.

Estinien, the Azure Dragoon, was a stalwart and useful ally. After felling Tioman, the mate of Nidhogg, it was
time to bring the battle to the great wyrm himself. Estinien, possessing an eye of Nidhogg, was able to weaken
their quarry greatly, allowing Beth to weaken him enough for Estinien to deliver the final blow to the wyrm.

At last, the Dragonsong War had been brought to and end--or so they hoped.

Beth spent a short respite in Anyx Trine, catching up with Vidofnir and the other Dravanians
whom she considered family. Heimryr, one of these dragons, held a slight grudge against Beth for
leaving Anyx Trine without warning and disappearing for many years. However, it wasn't long
before the dragonling forgave her and the two were as close as broodmates once again.

It had taken nearly a year, but Beth was finally beginning to feel like herself again.
Though her love was gone, she had made new friends and ended a war that had plagued
her mind for years. Finally, the dragons could begin to heal...and Ishgard as well.

But there was a corruption in the city that ran deeper than the most severe of wounds.

After Aymeric had attempted to reveal the truth of the Dragonsong War's origin,
he was imprisoned by the Archpriest, Thordan VII. Ishgard was plunged into chaos, angered
by Aymeric's imprisonment, and Beth was once again forced into the conflict.

Aymeric was a good man, and Beth would not stand by as someone so just and kind
was executed. After much planning and many pains, Beth stormed The Vault, aiming to rescue him.

Much to Beth's horror, all of the Knights of the Heaven's Ward had been given the powers
of a primal. She questioned the Archpriest's motives, but there was precious little time to think.
One-by-one she defeated each of the Knights, making her way to free Aymeric...but when she least
expected it, she was attacked. If not for Haurchefant's protection, she surely would have sustained
a fatal injury... but Haurchefant's shield cracked, leaving the poor man impaled and dying.

Beth's screams filled the air as the Knight responsible fled, and Haurchefant lay dying in her arms.
His blood soaked her armor as she tried to heal him to no avail, but even as his final breaths escaped him,
he smiled at her and consoled her. He told her with his last breath: "A smile better suits a hero."

Beth was devastated and filled with rage from her dear friend's death, vowing to avenge him.
Instead of falling into a deep depression, she embraced the darkness within her even more
and used its power to crush her enemies and stop Thordan's mad schemes to deify himself.

Her prey fled to Azys Lla, a floating island of ancient Allag, where he planned to absorb the
Warring Triad--three slumbering primals sealed away--and become a 'god'.

Driven by bloodlust and anger, Beth went along with her companions to put an end to Thordan.
However, they were waylaid by Garlean foes, who wished to explore the Allagan island as well.
As their airship did not have the means to face a powerful Garlean craft, Ysayle took it upon herself
to clear a path for Beth and her allies. Beth attempted to stop her, saying that she didn't want to lose
another one of her dear friends, but Ysayle simply smiled and said that she would never stop fighting
for her cause: to see man and dragon at peace once again.

Torn up inside, Beth promised that they shared the same dream, the same cause,
and that she would see it through to the end. Ysayle thanked her and told her to keep fighting.
Beth told her that she would never give up, that she would always keep her friends close to her heart,
even if they were no longer with her. Ysayle reminded her that even apart, even in death, those who
have formed a bond will never truly be apart. Then, she transformed into Shiva and fended off the Garlean ship.

Though she struggled with recent events, Beth trudged ever onward, carrying the hopes and dreams
of those she could not save, in order to save those within her reach. She repeated it like a mantra, and
it gave her some small semblance of peace. Roaming Azys Lla, Beth could not help but think of G'raha Tia,
who would have surely loved to see a product of ancient Allagan civilization. It was in Azys Lla where she
discovered even more just how twisted the Allagans were, however, uncovering more of their inhumane experiments.

To her dismay, she even found a trapped dragon of the First Brood named Tiamat.
Midgardsormr made a brief appearance, trying to console his daughter, but she would
not forgive herself for summoning the primal Bahamut and asked to be left to her prison.

Beth vowed to free her some day, no matter what.

Finally, Beth reached the Aetherochemical Research Center and was thrust into battle
with Garleans and twisted Allagan creations alike. In the last chamber of the research center,
she battled with two Ascians--Lahabrea and Igeyorhm. As the orchestrators behind so much
suffering and death, Beth took great pleasure in laying the Ascians low, but the killing blow
was dealt by none other than Thordan VII, who then transformed into his 'primal' self.

He was fully bent on becoming a 'god' but Beth put an end to his--and his followers'--
evil plot. Though she made a vow long ago not to kill another, this man was too far gone to be allowed to live.

There was no choice.

That was what she told herself...but the darkness within her took pleasure in his death, as well as the deaths of his Knights.
Thordan looked upon her in fear in his last moments, seeing her perhaps as some sort of great demon--he could not comprehend her great power.

With Nidhogg's second eye fallen from Thordan's blade, Estinien took it and promised to seal it away.
However...Nidhogg's rage remained, and possessed Estinien, twisting him into the form of the great wyrm.

Beth cursed herself, wondering if she would now lose another of her friends.
After helping to quell the uproar in Ishgard, it was time yet again to come up with a plan to stop Nidhogg--
and save Estinien from his clutches. The Scions, meanwhile, kept searching for Minfilia, who was still missing
from that fateful day in Ul'Dah. They soon discover that Minfilia had been made into avatar of the Mothercrystal
Herself, and learned a disturbing truth about their world's origins. However, there is little time to deal with this revelation,
as Nidhogg will assault Ishgard soon. Beth, Alphinaud and Aymeric again go to treat with Hraesvelgr, asking for his aid.

Though the great wyrm is stubborn, he agrees to help them after they pass his trial.
Then, in an epic final battle, Nidhogg is felled for good and Estinien is saved--with the
help of two familiar spirits, Ysayle and Haurchefant. Beth is brought to tears by their appearance
and the fact that they were able to save Estinien from death; saving him acts as a salve which soothes
her pain of failing to protect Haurchefant and Ysayle. She vows to get stronger, so she can protect those dear to her.

"I will protect them," she whispers unto the chill of night. "So that no one else must lay down their life to protect mine."

Warriors of Darkness

pleasant dinner with Aymeric is interrupted with news that Alisaie has arrived, injured, at House Fortemps.
When Beth returns, Alisaie has grave news to share: she was attacked by individuals who call themselves "The Warriors of Darkness".
She explains their plan which is to trigger the constant summonings of primals in order to disrupt the flow of aether in order to
"save" their own world from imminent destruction; she also notes that they admit to conspiring with the Ascians to see their plan
to fruition. As Warrior of Light, Beth knows that there is no semblance of peace to be had so as long as the Ascians still live.

Papalymo and Yda are found shortly after learning of the Warriors of Darkness, and they tell a grim tale
of growing tensions in Ala Mhigo--Beth can only guess it won't be long before her journey leads her there.

But first, she had to contend with the Warriors of Darkness.

In time, Beth finally faces off against them along with Alisaie, Thancred, Urianger--the double agent--and
Alphinaud by her side. The Warriors of Darkness were unlike any foes Beth had fought before, able to use the Echo
just as she could, rising from certain doom a dozen times. It was only thanks to her Scion companions that she was able to
overcome the Warriors of Darkness in the end. However, everyone was soon called to Hydaelyn's realm, where they spoke
with Minfilia. It was here that Beth learned more about the Warriors of Darkness, and how they were desperately trying
to save their home world, the First, from being erased by a Flood of Light. Beth was deeply disturbed by this information,
but Minfilia promised to return to the First with the Warriors of Darkness and save the world from its imminent doom.

Thancred was left greatly saddened by the permanent departure of Minfilia, and Beth tried to console
him as she could. The two became friends shortly thereafter, able to relate with one another's losses.

Thankfully, the Scions were able to prove their innocence after the Dragonsong War and were
able to return to Eorzea for a brief repose. Knowing that her next destination would likely be Ala Mhigo,
Beth decided to pay a visit to Mor Dhona, where she spoke with Rammbroes at length and
reminisced about G'raha Tia. Unfortunately, unsealing the Tower remained a mystery.

It had been a little over a year since he sealed himself within the Crystal Tower,
and some small part of her had given up on ever seeing him again and on love entirely.
She spent a full day in Mor Dhona, watching the Crystal Tower and lamenting her lost love.

Since parting from G'raha Tia, she had started a new diary upon being exiled to Ishgard,
dreaming that one day she could regale him with all that had happened since they parted.
Even though it was painful to dream such a thing, it gave her some small reason to keep believing.

Stormblood

A lengthy foray into unknown lands awaited Beth and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn,
as they were sent to Ala Mhigo in hopes of liberating it from the Garleans. The previous few months
were a depressing blur, as Papalymo had sacrificed himself in order to seal away Shinryu, a primal
summoned by the deranged Ilberd. Beth became reserved once more, trying to cope with so many
losses in succession, and began "going through the motions" as needed in order to help the Scions.

Now a little over 30, Beth wondered if her life was destined to be full of failures and goodbyes.
Fighting against her negative emotions, she engaged herself in battles at every opportunity.
She traveled to Gyr Abania in order to meet with the Resistance, relying on Lyse--formerly Yda--to
do the talking and planning. Though Beth hoped to see Ala Mhigo free, she was too absorbed in her own
pains to truly pay attention to everything that was happening; she had withdrawn into herself in order to
keep herself from breaking, becoming nothing more than a weapon forged to pave the way for a better future.

The Resistance home base of Gyr Abania is soon sieged by a woman named Fordola, an Ala Mhigan who
was siding with the Garleans. Though Beth was able to defeat her after a difficult struggle, a man named Zenos
soon appeared and was more powerful than anything she had ever seen before. Her allies were defeated in an instant,
and she only barely managed to hold on for longer, fighting with all her might to stop him.

Zenos, impressed with her strength, spared her.

Surrounded by death once more, Beth questioned herself and her life, disappearing
for a short time to stabilize her failing sanity. Soon, the Scions make way for the Far East, hoping to
involve Doma in the liberation of Ala Mhigo. Doma, a country also suffering under the thumb of Garlemald,
suffered a failed rebellion quite recently. They were sent to find Hien, Doma's lord, in hopes of reviving
the Doman resistance. Though they succeed in locating Hien in the Azim Steppe, he asks the Scions to
"gauge the people's will" in fighting back. The Domans still seem eager for freedom, and hope for Hien's return.

Beth then joins Yugiri in the hunt for Zenos, who had been spotted nearby. They hope to assassinate him
before he can cause more trouble, but both were defeated by the Garlean prince. Zenos, however, is amused by Beth's
ferocity and power and tells her to grow stronger so that he may further "enjoy his hunt".

Angered by his mockery, Beth plans to beat the arrogance out of him the next time they meet.
She devotes herself entirely to training, drawing deep upon the dark powers within her.

Soon, Beth and Alphinaud meet with Hien in Doma; the latter presents a Far Eastern Alliance consisting of
the Confederacy, the Blue Kojin and numerous Doman villages. They then launch an attack on Doma Castle and
emerge victorious, though Yotsuyu attempts to kill them all by making the castle collapse. Gosetsu stays behind,
sacrificing himself so the others could escape. After witnessing Gosetsu's selfless sacrifice, Beth's heart has
grown cold and dead inside; she has become virtually unfeeling, no more than a vessel of destruction.

Hien then pledges himself to assist in liberating Ala Mhigo as word spread quickly of Doma's own liberation.
Returning to Ala Mhigo, the Scions have little time to plan before they are again thrust into battle with
the Garleans. Beth, having fully embraced her dark side, seems more powerful than ever before. Her
lack of emotions is somewhat unsettling for her allies, but there is precious little time to help her recover.

Instead, they press on together.

During an attack on an imperial watchtower, the Garleans fire at their own allies, killing friend and foe alike
in the blast. The leader of the Resistance was also killed, and passed on leadership of the Resistance to Lyse.
Unable to stand the sight of another dead comrade, Beth leaves the watchtower and joins the frontline forces
on their assault deeper into the Lochs. Then, the Scions engage in a stealth mission into the research facility
where Krile, a fellow Scion, was being held after her capture. Beth again battles with Fordola and
emerges victorious, setting Krile free. Soon, the main charge begins and Beth faces Zenos alone.

Focused only on battle rather than emotions, Beth overcomes Zenos, but the madman unveils a captured
Shinryu, and then fuses with the draconic beast. Still, Beth is able to defeat him, and Zenos takes his own life.
Unmoved, Beth turns away from the scene and leaves.

Ala Mhigo is freed, but Beth is unable to participate in the revelry.
After finding a quiet place where she would not be bothered, she laments that
perhaps she is becoming like Zenos, living only for the thrill of battle--without that
how else would she get the blood to move through her veins? How else would her heart remember to beat?

How would she remember that she was alive, without the pain?

Beth recalled that her nameday was fast approaching and wanted nothing more than to be alone.
When she returned to the Rising Stones after some days alone, the Scions surprised her with a party and gifts.
Alphinaud and Alisaie, who had both become the closest thing she had to real siblings, congratulated her
and promised to always stay at her side. She didn't realize how much she meant to them, and slowly
began the process of healing once again. She hopes that the future will have something pleasant in store.

The Scions soon receive news that Gosetsu and Yotsuyu survived Doma Castle's destruction,
but the latter has lost all of her memories. In a baffling series of events, they then encounter Yotsuyu brother,
who is somehow even more insane than Yotsuyu ever was. Unfortunately, he goads his sister into remembering
her painful past, and she ultimately incarnates herself into the primal Tsukuyomi and had to be put down by Beth.
Her final act was to ensure that her brother Asahi joined her in death. They then learn that Asahi was acting on orders from "Zenos"...

No doubt yet another Ascian plot.

Soon, the Ala Mhigans are invited to a summit to formally welcome them into the Eorzean Alliance,
but a painful psychic disturbance afflicts all members of the Scions. Beth hears a ghastly voice, warning her of doom,
feeling phantom claws assaulting her mind and very soul, threatening to tear her to shreds, but she manages to recover
before the damage is done. However, half of her companions are left comatose.

Alisaie is especially distraught, and Beth puts on a strong front in order to comfort her dear friend.

The fallen Scions are left in the care of Krile at the Rising Stones while those yet awake are sent to
contend with a Garlean invasion that seeks to reclaim Ala Mhigo. Some time after reaching the Burn,
Beth meets with Gaius and a Garlean defector, who presents them with a comatose Alphinaud.

Alisaie struggles to compose herself, but Beth tries to remain a beacon to her.
Gaius informs them of a chemical weapon called the Black Rose which the Garleans
are currently manufacturing, and states that he is working to slay the Ascians.
Enemy of my enemy is my friend, so Beth accepts him as an ally... for now.

They part ways and Beth and Alisaie attend a parley of the Eorzean Alliance with Emperor Varis,
which fails miserably as he admits to heeding the will of the Ascians and is aiding them in the "Rejoining" in
order to become strong enough to fight them and offers the Eorzeans a chance to join him.

With the parley deemed a failure, the Alliance prepares for war. Alisaie pleads with Beth not to leave her behind,
but ends up succumbing to the mysterious coma soon after their first engagement. With all of her allies and friends gone, Beth
struggles greatly, and seals her heart away once more to focus on the battle ahead. The armies fall into a stalemate as Beth
squares off against "Zenos"--whose body is possessed by Elidibus, yet another Ascian.

She is nearly defeated, but is rescued by Estinien before Elidibus could deal the final blow.
The Garleans then retreat from the frontlines as Beth is brought to a room to recover from her wounds.
Soon after waking, she hears the phantom voice again, who urges her to go to a place near the Crystal Tower
to find a beacon, in order to prevent a terrible future. Angry and disoriented, Beth enlists the aid of the Ironworks
to search for the beacon. After a long and fruitless search, Beth finally discovers said beacon which strangely
bears the Ironworks' official seal. Upon picking up the beacon, Beth is assaulted by the voice and a head-splitting pain.

"Throw wide the gates, so we may enter..."

Shadowbringers

41328537_FSjrmK7wJeLOumb.jpgBeth finds herself in a strange-looking forest; rather than green foliage, the trees and grass
of this place were a distinct lavender color. The most unsettling thing was not the brush, however, but the sky overhead--
it was nothing but pure, blinding light. She wandered through the foreign lands, wondering if she is any closer to solving
the mystery behind the voice and saving her comatose companions. Before long, she meets with the captain of the local guard, Lyna,
and then the lord of this realm: the Crystal Exarch. He graciously invites Beth to the "Crystarium" -- a center built around none other than
the Crystal Tower. Immediately, Beth wonders if the Crystal Exarch is possibly related to G'raha Tia.

Cautiously, she asks him, though he claims to know nothing. She recounts G'raha Tia's story, leaving out
the more intimate details--such as their personal relationship--but again the Crystal Exarch denies knowing
the man she asks of. Her last bit of hope snuffed out, Beth demands to know what has become of the Scions...

Instead of answering her, he bids that she browse around the Crystarium and learn what cruel had has
befallen the First. Beth's anger nearly boiled over and she thought to slap the cowled man for his coldness,
his insensitivity, but she simply agreed to follow his wishes and went on her way. After getting lost in the city
for what felt like days, she dragged herself back to the Ocular. Indeed, this world's plight sounded familiar to her--
she remembered, vaguely, the Warriors of Darkness and their quest to save their world from the "all-devouring Light".

After making her way to the Ocular, the Crystal Exarch explained that her allies were safe and sound--but
their souls had been manifested in the First in physical forms. They were now trying to find ways to stop the Sin Eaters--
monsters born of the Light--and free the First from its terrible fate. Though he explained everything in detail, there was
something about the Crystal Exarch that Beth did not like. She felt that he was lying or keeping secrets, hiding things from her
that she would rather know. Still, she pushed back her anger and distrust for the man and went to find Alisaie and Alphinaud.

With her own two eyes she witnessed a woman turned by a powerful Sin Eater, and visited a city that lived in harmony with them.
Though this world was twisted and cursed, Beth was glad at least to have familiar faces here along with her. Still, she wondered, why
did the Crystal Exarch wish to summon her of all individuals? Was she truly the only one capable of defeating the Lightwardens?
Regardless, that was her mission now, and she meant to fulfill it.

Shortly after reuniting with Alisaie and Alphinaud in the Crystarium, a village known as Holminster Switch was reported
to be under attack. Together with the twins, Lyna and the Crystal Exarch himself, they journeyed to the village in hope of saving
the people from being turned or devoured by the Sin Eaters. There were many powerful Eaters in the village, but Beth had done nothing
but train and hone her skills, increasing her power through harnessing the darkness within her. Yet still, even she struggled against the Lightwarden
which await them. Many lives were lost, some turned before their very eyes, but thanks to Beth's allies, they were able to overcome the Lightwarden.

However, during the battle with the great Light-touched beast, Beth's Drachen armor cracked and broke down, greatly hampering her defensive
capabilities. Without armor, she suffered severe injuries, but went on fighting regardless, ignoring the pain. When the Lightwarden was defeated, she
absorbed its corrupting Light into herself, seemingly none worse for wear, and returned darkness to Lakeland. The Crystal Exarch knelt before her
reverently, thanking her profusely for her heroic deeds. Beth was somewhat flustered by his actions, turning away and brushing off his excessive compliments.

She was then escorted to the chiurgeon despite her protests and cared for there. After recovering, the Exarch presented her with a room
in the Pendants and introduced her to a friendly pixie named Feo Ul, with whom Beth formed a pact. The pixie had a unique talent in that
she was able to traverse the worlds, and Beth asked her to let the others in the "Source"--what she learned their world was called in other "Shards"--
that she and the other Scions were all right. She thanked the Exarch and went to her room, after he urged her to rest and eat something.
In her room, she found a basket of hand-made sandwiches, as well as a handwritten letter from the Crystal Exarch himself.

For some reason, as she read the letter, something stirred within her...but she ignored the feeling, thinking it was
nothing more than exhaustion, or perhaps desperation. As she ate, she began to hear a mysterious voice; after
looking around, she saw a vaguely familiar man...one of the Warriors of Darkness, though he looked like a phantom
rather than a being of flesh. He was ecstatic that she could see him, explaining that he had been wandering with no one
able to perceive him for nigh on a century. Ardbert was his name, and from that moment on, the two became friends.

Without her Drachen armor, Beth was unsure of how to fight moving forward, often training in the Crystarium with
different styles. She adapted a more magical fighting style, though had every intention to continue fighting on the front lines.
She knew that the next Lightwarden would be even stronger, so she wanted to make sure she was amply prepared.

One day, the Crystal Exarch met her while training, gifting her with a new set of "armor" though it was a plated dress, rather
than the heavy armor she had grown accustomed to. Having noted how she had adjusted her fighting style, he wished to present
her with something easier to move in, and had enchanted the dress to offer exceptional protection as well as a boost to her aetherial power.
Beth was somewhat moved by his kindness, but the man promptly left before she could properly thank him.

Was he avoiding her on purpose, or was that just the kind of man he was?

Regardless, there was precious little time to waste.

With Thancred in the party once more, Beth fled the Crystarium along with Alisaie and Alphinaud,
and a new companion named "Minfilia" making their way to Il Mheg in order to avoid a conflict.
The Fae Lands were colorful and bright, enchantingly inviting. They found Urianger living amongst the Fae and were
tasked with finding several relics which would unlock the castle where the next Lightwarden had been sealed away.

Beth gradually learned that Minfilia was none other than the latest incarnation of the Minfilia the Scions knew well,
who had become the first Oracle of Light. She did not try too much to wrap her head around how it all worked out,
but was happy to have another reliable ally on her side. Once the relics were collected, Beth went to face Titania, the
Light-touched Fae King. Once Titania was defeated and night was returned to the Fae Lands, Feo Ul ascended to the position
of King and drove out the Scion's pursuers from Il Mheg. Beth continued to wonder why and how Eulmore allied with the Sin Eaters.

The Scions then return to the Crystarium for a well-deserved rest, plotting course for their next destination.
Y'shtola was the final Scion yet missing from their ranks, and they planned to meet with her in Rak'tika Greatwood.
Before departing, Beth spent the night at the highest point of the Crystarium, gazing out at the Crystal Tower.

She felt that same loneliness return once more, wondering why G'raha Tia was not within the Crystal Tower.
Lamenting and reflecting on all she had lost since becoming the Warrior of Light, Beth struggled to find true
resolve to carry on. All these years, what was she really living for anymore? Was her destiny simply to fight
until she drew her last breath? Though she would never forsake the duty thrust upon her, sometimes she imagined
what it might be like to life a more 'fulfilling' life as a so-called normal woman. What would a life of happiness look like?

She imagined G'raha Tia at her side. Perhaps that was all she really wanted and needed.
But he was gone. Haurchefant was gone. Ysayle was gone.

Was she truly a hero, despite her many failures?

Of course, wars could not be won without sacrifice, but as the most important piece
on the playing field, it felt wrong that all sacrifices were made for her sake. This 'heroic'
path she walked was nothing more than a river, a road of red, paved from the blood of her fallen friends.

For years she had kept these feelings bottled up, not wanting to burden her friends; or perhaps
she feared showing her true self, allowing that 'heroic' image they had of her in their minds form
cracks and crumble to pieces. No, it was all right to suffer in silence, in solitude.
So as long as she was the Warrior of Light and Darkness, Beth felt that she had not the right
to dump her negative emotions on her allies. And thus, the Crystal Tower became her beacon,
the sole listener and knower of her deepest, darkest feelings. And yet...

...on that particular night, the Crystal Exarch had come to the same place.
They were equally surprised to see one another, but try as she may, the Exarch
sensed her pains. Despite her best efforts to avoid his shrouded gaze, she felt as though
his presence stripped away her thickest and coldest of barriers. He did not pry, he simply
asked to sit with her, to enjoy her company. He admitted that this particular spot was one he
was quite fond of, noting that it was amusing that Beth herself would come to enjoy the same place.

The Exarch seemed different now.

No longer a distant, cold man, but perhaps someone who could level with
Beth's own emotions and fears. Though she remained silent, she took solace
in listening to him speak, finding his voice somewhat soothing on her mind.
He thanked her for her heroic exploits thus far, reiterating that she was indeed
the hero he thought she was; he showered her with compliments, with praise.

"You have changed this world, Warrior of Darkness. I pray that you take comfort in all the good you have done,
and all the good you will continue to do. You are a beacon of hope, a guiding star--for all of us."

Deep down, Beth wanted his words to mean something more than simple admiration.
She realized that her heart had been hollowed out by loneliness and suffering; though his
words comforted her, they also made her see just how full of holes she was inside--a double edged sword.
She had grown bitter, skeptical, cold, perhaps even hopeless.

And yet, despite the sludge-filled, coal-hearted person she thought she saw,
the Crystal Exarch saw her as something else entirely, something beautiful and magical.
Although many had hailed Beth as a hero, there were few whose words could resonate so
deeply with her core. How badly she wanted to reach out to him, to let him into her heart,
to let him heal all the pains she had suffered... but that was a childish, selfish wish.

And so she turned away from it.

This was not the time for foolishness.
Beth was the Warrior of Darkness, and she knew she could not turn away from that duty.
That was why the Crystal Exarch had brought her here--not to fraternize.
As much as it hurt her to turn her back on that fluttering, childish hope, she marched ever onward towards her goal.

When the group then moves to Rak'tika Greatwood, none other than an Ascian named Emet-Selch joins
their party. It was difficult for everyone to accept him, but for now, they tolerated his presence.

Soon, they reunited with Y'shtola, and Beth later overheard her speaking to Urianger about
a grave imbalance in her aether. Beth wondered if, perhaps, the Light she was absorbing
would eventually kill her. Or worse--turn her into a Lightwarden.

What, then, would she do?
Would she spell the doom of the First and all the Scions?

Surely, the Crystal Exarch must have a plan...
...he, after all, could not be unaware of the risks?

For now, Beth decided to focus on the task at hand.
With the help of the Viis women who protected the ancient Ronkan ruins,
they were able to track down the Lightwarden and put it down. Emet-Selch then returned
shortly thereafter, revealing an interesting 'truth' about Hydaelyn and Zodiark, though Beth
was not quite sure if she believed it or not, even if it was depicted in the ancient murals of Ronka.

The Scions then return to the Crystarium yet again, expanding their search for the remaining Lightwardens.
Beth meets with the Crystal Exarch once again, whose demeanor seems much softer now than it did when
they had first met. Even Lyna--his adoptive 'granddaughter'--attests to the Exarch's different behavior since
Beth had come to the Crystarium, noting that he seemed happier and 'younger' now. She finds herself growing
fond of the Exarch, despite her best efforts to stop her feelings from growing. However, just being in his presence
makes her feel better; unable to hold back her thoughts, she comes out and asks him directly if he enjoys her company.

The Exarch, somewhat uncharacteristically, is visibly embarrassed by her question,
though he manages to brush it off and answers her plainly with a rhetorical question:

"Who among us would not relish the opportunity to converse with the beloved Warrior of Darkness herself?"

Beth perhaps hangs on to the word beloved a little more than she should, but she speaks no more of it.
Their conversation is cut short, however, when reports of a Eulmoran invasion reach the Ocular.
Beth and the Scions fend off the Sin Eater attack from Vauthry, lord of Eulmore, who taunts them
from his airship. With no leads on the locations of the remaining Lightwardens, Minfilia
wishes to convene with the original Minfilia in Amh Araeng, though the Scions worry that
this may mean she will cease to be herself. Despite that fear, they journey forth.

Thancred stays behind to fend of Ran'jit--Vauthry's loyal vassal--while Minfilia speaks to
the original Oracle of Light. In the end, Minfilia retains her sense of self while gaining new powers,
the original Minfilia ceasing to be. Thancred then gives her a new name, Ryne, who informs
everyone of the locations of the last two Lightwardens. The Scions move quickly to dispatch Storge,
the Lightwarden of Amh Araeng, but are terrified when they learn that Vauthry is the final Lightwarden.

Half-man, half-eater, the Scions now take their fight to Eulmore.
Beth fights against Ran'jit, who battles to the death, but Vauthry flees before she can destroy him, raising a massive
mountain into  the sky above Kholusia which he makes into his gaudy lair. The party then enlists the aid of master
golemsmith, Chai-Nuzz, their old acquaintance and friend from Eulmore. He, along with the
other denizens of Norvrandt, begin a project to create a massive golem which can pull down Vauthry's mountain.

Soon, Beth and the Crystal Exarch reach Kholusia, moving to one of the dwarven settlements. They must
collect a particular ore that is needed for the golem's creation and fight side-by-side into the heart of Kholusia
against many Sin Eaters. The Crystal Exarch, in high spirits, tells their dwarven companion of Beth's heroism,
making it clear just how highly he thinks of her. The dwarf remarks that the pair must have been 'together forever'
to which both Beth and the Exarch become slightly flustered.

Beth then finally accepts the fact that she has developed some level of affections for the Crystal Exarch, planning to profess
her feelings for him once Norvrandt has been freed from the everlasting Light. Though she worries she might not
survive absorbing the Light from her final foe, the Crystal Exarch's presence gives her hope.

Surely, he would not allow her to die...

Near the end of their adventure in Kholusia, the Exarch does exactly that:
he saves Beth from certain doom at the hands of a particularly powerful Sin Eater,
further solidifying her feelings for him. Finally, the giant golem is nearly complete;
the Crystal Exarch invites Beth to sit with him and rest before the final battle.

The Crystal Exarch reveals the yearning in his heart, to adventure with a dear friend of his. He
admits that he wishes to lay his heart bare to her, and Beth wonders who this mysterious 'friend' could
be. For now, she resigns to hoping that he is talking about none other than she, looking forward to the moment
when she can finally speak frankly with him. As their minds are both set on the battle ahead, neither have time
to truly 'lay their hearts bare' but she hopes that once Norvrandt is saved, she can learn more about the Exarch.

Her wish is granted, albeit under far darker circumstances than she had imagined...

Reunion

Following Vauthry's defeat, Beth was overwhelmed by the Light she absorbed. Her soul felt as though
it was being torn to shreds; she wasn't sure if she could hold on to her sanity, but she felt something deep
within stir, trying to break free. Battling with herself and the Light which threatened to consume her, the Crystal Exarch
suddenly appeared. Her heart sank as she watched on weakly as he claimed to have used her, to steal the Light for himself
and use it to traverse the realms. Something in his words rang false as the Exarch attempted to siphon the Light from her,
though she could do nothing but watch helplessly. Y'shtola then made it clear: the Exarch would never survive if he took
the Light into himself, and must have been planning to do sacrifice himself from the very start.

"No..."

Beth tried to crawl to him, tears springing from her eyes as she howled out in pain,
coughing up silver blood. Not again--she couldn't bear it anymore. She couldn't
allow the Exarch to sacrifice himself... not him.

 "Please, stop..."

She begged him weakly as the force from the raging Light blew back his cowl, revealing...
G'raha Tia.

"G-G'raha Tia...!"

Truly, the fates or the gods loved making a mockery of her and
everything she held dear. She saw those familiar ruby red eyes fill with tears
as they went wide, full of pain--but only for a moment. He smiled at her, much like
Haurchefant had done in his last moments. Something screamed inside of Beth,
pleading to be let free, but she had not the strength to do anything with the Light sapping her.

"Fare you well, my--my friend... my inspiration."

Through her muddled vision, she could barely see the tears dripping from G'raha Tia's
eyes, letting out a pitiful cry as she desperately tried to stop him. Surely, she would rather die
than to let this future come to pass. If there truly were gods watching, would they not spare her this misery?

Then, a gunshot resounded through the chamber and G'raha Tia
fell to the ground, a pool of blood forming beneath him as his channeling
was forced to a halt. There stood Emet-Selch, sneering as he stomped a foot on
the fallen Exarch's back, and Beth filled with rage. Uncontrollable, unbridled fury.

Willingly, she begged whatever dark, creeping thing that slept inside of her to help her...

But for now, Beth was simply to weak to retain her consciousness, blacking out
as the Crystal Exarch was captured and taken away by Emet-Selch.

An unknown amount of time had passed until Beth opened her eyes once again,
and she was told that Ryne was able to stop the Light's corruption inside of
her body for now, but the sky had again returned to its former state.

The Tempest was likely the place where Emet-Selch was waiting.
Where the Crystal Exarch--where G'raha Tia hopefully still lived.
Beth planned to depart alone, but was stopped by the Scions who
wished to accompany her and stop Emet-Selch, as well as save the Crystal Exarch.

She travelled with them all the way to the Tempest, the creature that slept within
biding its time. Y'shtola remarked that the Umbral and Astral aether in her body
was clashing chaotically, and if it didn't stop soon, she would likely not survive.

Realizing that Beth's emotions were contributing to her deteriorating state, they
attempted to console her, but Alisaie angrily stated that empty promises were nothing
more than lies. She gave her word that they would fight with Beth to save the Exarch,
and stay by her side no matter what befell her. She urged her not to give in, that she was not alone.

Thanks to her friends, Beth was able to hold on.

When they reached the Tempest, Emet-Selch mocked them again and sent them
through a glorified obstacle course--an illusion of the ruined city Amaurot, the home
of the Ancients. Ignoring the ruins, Beth trampled whatever enemies stood in their way,
assisted by her companions. After the final entity was slain, Emet-Selch appeared and again
mocked them, defeating Beth's companions one-by-one. Barely holding onto her sanity, she approached.

"Where is G'raha Tia?"

Emet-Selch deigned not to answer, further goading her on, telling her that there was no
way she could possibly be victorious fighting alone. Then, the Exarch appeared, much to
the Ascian's surprise. The Exarch then promised that Beth would not fight alone; despite
his battered body--likely from enduring torture from the Ascian--he used his summoning
magicks to call forth the projections of several other Warriors of Light from different shards.

Then, the battle against Emet-Selch--against Hades--began.

Thanks to the assistance of the other Warriors of Light, Beth was able to gain
the upper hand in battle. One-by-one, however, he struck them down, until
she was alone on the battlefield. Hades then transformed into a more grotesque form,
nearly overpowering Beth. But, Ardbert stood by her side, giving her the strength to stand.

"I'm here with you. I'll lend you my strength, too."

With his aid, Beth was able to retain her sanity and unleash the slumbering power
of darkness within her soul. This power merged with the Light she absorbed, filling her
with unimaginable, unseen power that surprised even the Ancient.

"What...are you? Your soul... sundered though it may be, is not of this star!"

For a moment Beth was imbued with power, enveloped by the spiritual form
of a great dark dragon speckled with Light. With this finite power, she unleashed
a beam of crystalline light which impaled Hades, crystallizing in his chest and spelling his doom.

After the battle was won and Hades began to disappear, he asked that the Ancients be remembered.
Beth turned away from him, slumping forward in her weakness as Hades vanished.
The Scions, now having the strength to move, rushed to Beth's side and healed her wounds,
and the Crystal Exarch hobbled to the group, covered in blood. Beth stared at him, bewildered,
and called out his name--weakly at first, then louder.

His eyes filled with tears once more, and she limped to him and embraced him tightly.
"G'raha Tia... You have returned! It's so good... to see you awake..."
Beth cried freely, as though the sludge she had been carrying in her heart for so
many years had been purified at last. He returned her embrace, and the pair enjoyed
a long, warm reunion before returning victorious to the Crystarium together.

Love Rekindled

41333810_3EcyHMlkGPGGiVV.pngAfter suffering heavy wounds from the battle against Hades, Beth was finally
given a well-deserved rest. The Crystal Exarch often came to visit her during her recovery,
and the two began to rekindled their long lost love for each other, though not without some awkwardness.
After being alone for so long and suffering in solitude, the couple struggles at first to fully open their hearts
to one another, but they soon were found doting on one another. Sometimes, they were even spotted walking
hand-in-hand in the Crystarium. Finally able to overcome their painful pasts, Beth and G'raha Tia were able to move
towards a promising future together. The next step in their plan, however, was to return the Scions home.

For now, Beth did not think too deeply on things, fully committing herself to her relationship with the Crystal Exarch.
They helped each other heal old wounds and shared countless stories, spending time together whenever the Exarch's duties
did not call him away. Beth felt like a new, reborn woman, feeling that perhaps the gods had not forsaken her after all.

Rarely, the two would go on dates together into Lakeland, reminiscing about days long past. G'raha Tia admitted
that he had kept Beth's diary with him always, reading it countless times, along with Heavensward. These two books
inspired him towards his goal, though it pained him greatly to deceive Beth and the Scions. She did scold him for his
plot to sacrifice himself, even going so far as to try and paint himself a villain in the end... but she forgave him.

Instead of holding a grudge, Beth made him promise that he would never think to sacrifice himself again.
Alisaie echoed Beth's sentiment, and the Crystal Exarch shyly promised that his life now belonged to the Warrior of Darkness.

41334207_oWJGO3x1Rlu1H1l.pngOne of the couple's favorite activities was visiting Lyhe Mheg1, the pixie dream world, together.
Sometimes they go while asleep, and other times they visit while awake; as the favorite allies of the pixies,
the couple is always welcome anywhere in the Fae Lands. If ever their duties keep them apart for long,
they are sure to meet here in the dream world, so that they can make up for all the lost time.

The two share an innocent, doting relationship, although their yearning for one another
grows greater as time goes on. Sometimes, the Crystal Exarch joins Beth in her chamber in the Pendants
at her request, and they spend the night snuggling in each other's arms. While behind closed doors, they
enjoy cooking together, telling stories and training. It is not uncommon for them to lose track of time while
together. As time goes on, they overcome their shyness more and more, though Beth is usually the more 'aggressive'
of the pair. They slowly become more intimate with each other, sharing passionate kisses and less-than-innocent caresses,
though they always stop themselves before going 'too far'. Someday, they dream of sharing an Eternal Bonding ceremony.

Soon after discussing this dream, G'raha Tia presents Beth with a promise ring, inlaid with a crystal from the Crystal Tower.
He calls the ring his vow to be with her forevermore, and that nothing will keep them apart for long again. He makes clear
his intentions to make her his wife someday, though laments that he is an 'old man' now and hopes that she doesn't mind.
Of course, G'raha Tia is G'raha Tia to her, and she states that he 'hasn't aged a day' since they parted, aside from his whitening hair.

Now that Norvrandt is safe for the immediate future, the Crystal Exarch has prepared a portal for Beth to return to the Source
in order to check on the conditions of the Scions' bodies and check in with her other allies. Though she laments leaving his
side, she of course keeps such a selfish thought to herself, knowing that her friends' safety comes first.

The Crystal Exarch reassures her that she will be able to traverse the two worlds as she wishes,
and promises that he will be awaiting her return, giving her a sweet kiss farewell.
41334432_PAgP0I72lCMXnYA.png
He shyly jokes that perhaps there will be more when she returns to the First, and sends Beth on her way.
After walking through the portal, Beth finds herself standing in the place where the Crystal Exarch first
summoned her, reflecting on everything that had happened since that time. She returns to the Rising Stones
and learns news of the Garleans' Black Rose supplies being destroyed by Gaius and Estinien, as well as
dark tidings; the Scions' bodies will not be able to survive much longer without their severed souls.

Reflections in Crystal

Beth returns to the First, her mood dampened by the news, and informs everyone what she has learned.
The Crystal Exarch vows that he will not let such a fate befall the Scions, and redoubles his efforts to find a way
to return the Scions to the Source. They then visit the abode of a particular Nu Mou--a master of soul magicks--though
he gives them a less-than-friendly welcome. Beth and company fight their way through the magicked castle,
eventually earning the support of the Fae, who joins the Crystal Exarch in his research.

The Scions then decide to spread the true tale of the original Warriors of Light, painting them as the
heroes they truly were, rather than villains who brought about the doom of the world. However, "Ardbert"
soon reappeared, and Beth was skeptical upon seeing him, since her friend's spirit faded after the battle with
Hades. She and the other Scions soon discovered that it was none other than Elidibus, possessing Ardbert's body.

Knowing that this was the final unsundered Ascian, Beth knew that they would inevitably clash soon.
One day, the Crystal Exarch called Beth to his favorite spot, the highest overlook in the Crystarium, for a chat.
His demeanor was serious yet hopeful, and he told Beth that he had something very important to discuss with her--
a plan for the future. Before he could elaborate further, Elidibus, guised as Ardbert, appeared and stabbed the Exarch
with an aetherial blade, though the Exarch was mostly unharmed. After making an unsettling remark about G'raha Tia's soul,
Elidibus vanished. Beth fussed over the Exarch for quite some time after the attack, vowing that the Ascian's days were numbered.

Beth watched over the Crystal Exarch and Beq Lugg for some days after, worried that Elidibus would attack them again.
G'raha Tia, hating to see his beloved in such a sorry state, promised that they would be fine and asked her to spend time
with the Scions and relax, telling her that their research was finally bearing fruit. When she realized that she was slowing him down,
Beth decided to leave in order to clear her mind and contemplate what she was going to do when the Scions could return home.

Her G'raha Tia was still asleep in the Crystal Tower of the Source, but the Crystal Exarch had also become her G'raha.
What did it all mean?

She remembered that the Exarch claimed to have a plan, so she placed all her faith in him.
However, when she was away from the Crystal Tower, Elidibus indeed attacked during her absence;
the Tower was sealed off, but the Exarch and Beq Lugg managed to escape. In the chaos, the Ascian was able
to steal G'raha Tia's spirit vessel, and with it the knowledge of summoning. He then begins summoning
countless warriors from other shards, and Beth finds the Exarch and Beq Lugg, both wounded, in Lakeland.

Beth looks upon G'raha Tia in horror as she sees that his crystallization has advanced at an alarming rate,
but he tries to console her. He stresses that Elidibus must be stopped, and they go together to the Crystal Tower,
fending off dozens of summoned foes as they make their ascent. The Exarch's crystallization continues to worsen,
and Beth worries that he will not survive as he suddenly stumbles, one of his legs turning to crystal.

He asks that she leave him behind while he holds off a group of summoned enemies,
stating that he wouldn't dream of playing his trump card, save in her presence. Beth
trusted him, though it pained her greatly, and left G'raha Tia behind to fend for himself.

She then reached the Tower's throne room and fought against Elidibus, who transformed into
the first Warrior of Light. After a grueling, difficult battle, Elidibus lay defeated; the Crystal Exarch soon
appeared to deal the final blow, sealing Elidibus away within the Crystal Tower, sending off an explosion of lights
in the process. Beth runs to G'raha Tia's side, embracing him as the crystallization process can no longer be stopped.

He consoles her, hugging her weakly, telling her that he has a plan...
She holds out the spirit vessel containing his memories, and he places his hand
over hers, asking that she promise to take him with her on her next adventure.
Beth cries, and the Crystal Exarch kisses her, promising that they will meet again soon,
asking that she believe in him once more. He professes his love, stating that he dreams only to
be at her side, the shining star who charted his course for all these years. Then, as he sheds a final tear,
he crystallizes before her eyes and the spirit vessel glows as his soul now rests within it.

41335964_Amn0KdHacQf3v7Q.jpg
Beth keeps herself from breaking down, truly believing in G'raha Tia. The Scions comfort her and they return
to the Ocular, their work in the First now complete. Beth makes one last journey around Norvrandt, allowing the
Crystal Exarch to 'say his final farewells' before returning to the Source. She longs for the moment when she can wake
G'raha Tia who still sleeps within the Crystal Tower of the Source, meaning to bring two together as one.

With the Scions safely housed in their spirit vessels, Beth passes through the portal and returns them to their bodies.
After ensuring that everyone is okay, she promptly departs for the Crystal Tower, wasting not a single second;
she runs to the Tower's gates, which open to the call of the Crystal Exarch's royal blood...

Futures Rewritten

The Warrior of Light and Darkness ascends the Tower, running as fast as her feet will carry her;
she searches each chamber for G'raha Tia, finally finding him in the throne room. He has only just awoken
from his years-long slumber, looking quite disoriented as he believes Beth to be no more than a fanciful dream.
She runs to embrace him, and he laments, wondering how many times he has dreamt of her now, wishing he could
truly be with her again. She kisses him, telling him that it is real, that she is here for him.

G'raha Tia then asks about the item she holds, remarking that he hears 'a voice' whispering to him, urging him closer.
Beth then gives him an explanation, telling him of her journey to the First and how she met his future self, and how
he was a hero who saved her life and Norvrandt. She asks him to trust her, and he does not hesitate to tell her that he trusts
her with his life, and always would. She then hands him the spirit vessel, allowing the souls and memories of the Crystal Exarch
to join with him. He stumbles back onto the ground, motionless for several moments before he begins to stir.

Beth helps him sit up, cradling him in her arms as she soon feels his firm embrace, kissing her head. She asks
if it worked, and he affirmed that it did, thanking her for believing in him. He promised that they would never be apart again,
reunited for good, and remained in each other's arms for a long time, shedding tears of joy at being together at last.

41336151_0qc377JpYE0nJvu.png"Never again will I depart from your side, my love."

Once they had dried their tears and raised their eyes to a long and happy future, Beth
lifted G'raha Tia into her arms and carried him out of the Crystal Tower2, all the way back to the Rising Stones,
much to his embarrassment. He then summarily joined the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, vowing to fight alongside
them for the better of the world. Beth spent much time with G'raha Tia, since times were peaceful; the Garleans
had been pushed back, and after Varis' assassination, the country was plunged into chaos. The pair often trained together,
G'raha Tia commenting on how draining it is to cast spells without the Tower, and how hungry he often was.

Starlight Festival3 was soon upon them, and Beth unknowingly purchased an Allagan engagement ring
for G'raha Tia. When he explained what it was, she blushed and said that she indeed planned to marry him someday.
Though the mystery of who could have crafted such an artifact piqued his interest, he left it to his imagination for now.

After this moment, G'raha Tia began seriously considering an Eternal Bonding ceremony with Beth, beginning his
preliminary planning. He soon expressed a great interest in meeting your adoptive Dravanian family, and you soon
brought him to meet with them. He was fascinated by their kind and took great pleasure in listening to stories about
Beth--or Aeivre'ire--from her childhood from Heimryr, her closest friend. G'raha Tia soon began spending a curious amount of
time in Anyx Trine, causing Beth to wonder what exactly he was up to. He innocently stated to be learning Draconic.

In time, it was revealed that G'raha Tia was actually planning two things:
to retrieve Revernite in order to craft a new suit of armor for Beth, and to perform
The Rite of Aeon's Verse4 with her--to become a mated pair in the eyes of dragonkind.
41337020_c9724JpXFeN3hFT.png
After performing the Rite together, G'raha begins to work with the dragons of Anyx Trine in creating
the Sasvata armor, the replacement armor set for Beth that he hopes will be even more powerful than
its predecessor, the Drachen armor. However, he feels dismayed that he used their Aeon Crystal borne of
their love during the Rite, and wishes to create something similar--a crystal containing his own love for Beth.

A month later, the Valentione's celebration was upon them, and Beth invited G'raha on a date in New Gridania
to enjoy the festivities together. After their date, they began to spend a lot of time in Ishgard, assisting with the
restoration effort. As G'raha's plans to create a 'Heart Crystal' bear fruit, he makes plans to ask Beth to marry him.

He brings her to a beautiful spot in the Western Coerthas Highlands during a night when stars shine brightly
in the sky. With a gentle snow fluttering around them, G'raha offers his Heart Crystal and proposes to Beth5.

41337223_cE5g6b1PbE9wKy0.png
Beth, of course, accepts his proposal ecstatically. The two then begin to plan their Eternal Bonding ceremony,
though G'raha plans much of it in secret, wanting to surprise Beth. He hopes that he can give her a special, wonderful
day--and a night that will wash away all her pains and troubles. Knowing that it is only a matter of time before danger finds them again,
G'raha wishes to have the ceremony relatively soon, some time before Beth's nameday.
Thanks to Tataru, the planning for the Eternal Bonding ceremony goes quite smoothly.

Marriage to Raha

41337305_nWtOTdhFPxPFFdo.pngThe couple's Eternal Bonding6 goes off without a hitch and they are wed at the Ivory Chapel.

Beth confides in Raha, telling her of her hopes to some day free Tiamat from her shackles;
she can relate to the great wyrm's suffering somewhat, and Raha pledges to do what he can
to help free her when the time comes. The newlyweds decide to postpone their wedding afterparty,
wanting to finally spend some intimate time alone. They leave the chapel with Sprite, Beth's trusty chocobo,
and retire to Raha's 'secret spot'. There, Raha spends some time serenading Beth before they go to New Gridania.

Cid awaits them there, having prepared an airship to escort them to Costa del Sol, where the couple will
soon enjoy their honeymoon7 for a week. They thank Cid for his help and he wishes them the best, seeing
them to their destination. The couple then escapes to their private cabin, where they will spend their leisure time,
and Beth is surprised that Tataru has stocked the closets full of outfits for any and every occasion.

As their wedding night drew to a close, Beth felt that she was unable to hold herself back any longer.
She slowly begins to seduce Raha, taking him to bed, and the two make love for the first time.

After having enjoyed a long, intimate night together, the couple rests in each other's arms and
have a chat about the exciting days to come. They participate in various activities in Costa del Sol,
from dance lessons to shell collecting, spending their days simply enjoying life and each other's company.

Beth celebrates her 31st nameday while on her honeymoon, and Raha sees to it that she has the most
exciting, fun and pleasurable day of her entire life. Beth reflects on how much has happened since she
first started adventuring, and tells Raha how much he helped her pull away from a 'place of immense darkness'.
She then tells him a secret, something that has frightened her for a long time: the 'dark creature' that slumbers inside of her;
she explains to Raha what happened during the final battle against Hades, and wonders if it has something to do with her 'Dragonsoul'.

She apologizes for not telling him sooner, admitting to having had an irrational fear that he would distance himself
from her had he known that she had been relying on such powers of darkness at many times in her life. Raha comforted
her and reassured her that he would never distance himself from her for any reason, stating that even if the roots of some of
her powers were 'dark' she had never committed any wrongs, and was a hero. Even so, he promised to help her discover her origins,
as she had once done for him. Beth mentions again that she wishes to visit Meracydia one day, hoping that she will uncover
some clues surrounding her Dragonsoul and her origins. Then, the decide to put the topic aside for now and enjoy
the remainder of their honeymoon together before returning to their Scion companions at the Rising Stones.

Unfortunately, their honeymoon is cut short when the Scions contact them by Linkpearl,
informing them that ominous towers have begun to appear all across the world.

Beth and Raha promptly return to the Rising Stones to assess the situation...

Death Unto Dawn

Yet again, the one behind the world's troubles was none other than an Ascian named Fandaniel;
Beth had hoped they had seen the last of their kind after Elidibus, but this unsundered Ascian was even
more unhinged than his brethren, seeking to destroy the star and everyone on it--including himself--by re-enacting the Final Days.
The mad Ascian then sends 'Lunar Bahamut' to attack the Scions gathered in Ala Mhigo, though it flees shortly thereafter.

The Scions then realize that they will need to enlist the aid of Estinien, as well as Tiamat.
After Estinien is located, he joins Beth, Raha, Alisaie and Alphinaud in their journey to Azys Lla
and they soon meet with Tiamat. The group is able to convince Tiamat to fight, though they cannot
free her from her shackles until Alisaie cures her of her tempering, which is thankfully a minor case.

After Tiamat is cured, thanks to Raha's royal blood, they are able to free the great wyrm.
Then, the Scions make their way to Paglth'an in order to fell Lunar Bahamut; after striking down
many tempered Amalj'aa, Garleans and dragons alike, the group finally reaches Lunar Bahamut, who
battles with Tiamat and Estinien, seemingly emerging victorious from the fight. Thankfully, it was weakened
enough for the party to vanquish it once and for all; they soon learned the disturbing truth of the towers appearing around
the world and suddenly, more Lunar Primals began appearing in Eorzea. The Scions promptly made their way to
Carteneau Flats, where the Eorzean Alliance had already engaged the enemy.

Beth hesitantly split from Raha and Alisaie, leaving them to cure as many tempered as they could while she
went with Estinien and Alphinaud to the frontlines, leaving Urianger, Y'shtola and Thancred to secure the rear.
After a trying battle against Lunar Ifrit, the Scions emerge victorious, though many lives were lost in the process.

Beth returns to the Rising Stones with Raha, who cares for her wounds, asking him about Sharlayan.
Raha admits to holding a great curiosity about the cloistered, academic nation, though faults them for
their historic position of non-intervention, even while Eorzea was laid to waste by the Black Rose.

He does not doubt that somehow, the resourceful Krile will be able to eventually secure them
passage into Sharlayan, wondering what the nation's intentions are. He noted that they do not
seem to be as disinterested as they had claimed to be in this particular conflict, curious to uncover the truth.

For now, Raha wishes to spend his time with Beth further honing his skills.
The Scions then spend much of their time reading the aetherial levels present in
the different nations around the world, noting that they are all off-balance. After
surveying the aether in Mor Dhona, Beth sees a mysterious woman garbed in white
who states that Beth is the only one who can save this star--its fate is in her hands.

She recounts the chilling tale to Raha later who ponders her cryptic words as well
as her identity. They converse with the Scions, who hazard a guess that perhaps the woman
is Venat, the heart of Hydaelyn, though only time will reveal her true identity.

While waiting to make her trip to Sharlayan, Beth wonders where Tiamat has gone to
now that she is free, hoping to meet the great wyrm again under happier circumstances.
Raha mentions that there are still others of the First Brood in the world, and perhaps if the world
is threatened, they would join the Scions in battle against Fandaniel. While it was wishful thinking,
Beth quite enjoyed the prospect of fighting alongside one of the First Brood again, wondering when
Midgardsormr would awaken from his long slumber. She hoped some day, they would meet again, too.

For now, Beth spent her days keeping the peace in Eorzea when she was called to action,
or training with Raha when she was not. It was rare for them to have an intimate moment alone since their
honeymoon, but Beth was happy to simply have him by her side; being able to talk to him, to hold him, to love him again
was more than she could ever hope for, and Raha was all too happy to oblige her every desire.

Looking forward to visiting the city of scholars, Beth wondered what mysteries they would unveil in the future...

...perhaps, a nation which prides itself on knowledge of 'everything' could even offer insight into her own origins.

Miscellaneous
Beth and Raha do not want children, wishing to spent their days together; their path is not wide enough for any others. They enjoy each other's company and feel completely fulfilled with one another.

●In order to prevent pregnancy, Raha consumes a quick-acting elixir called Unbera which renders him impotent for seven years and is easily obtainable and craftable, made from rather common materials.

●Although she is able to use some form of all elements, she prefers healing, fire and dark magic

●Secretly wants to raise an army of chocobos and take them all into battle, but she's scared of them getting hurt so she decides against it

●Dotes far too much on her companions, especially those younger than her. She likes to bring them gifts or tries to do all their work for them in secret, etc. like an overprotective big sister

●Always trying to become worthy of the praise and expectations people place on her; the faith of her companions gives her endless motivation

●Doesn't really think much about her own safety as opposed to the safety of her companions

Skills and Abilities
  • Though the Warrior of Light possesses a plethora of jobs to choose from, she usually prefers her unique job "Drachritter". This job has access to a variety of magicks, and would be considered a magic knight; she later blends some abilities of a Dark Knight together with Drachritter as she begins to harness the power of her inner darkness.

  • The Echo and Hydaelyn's protection

  • Much later in the story, Beth unlocks "Paroxys" which is a manifestation of her partially corrupt Dragonsoul. She transforms into a dark dragon, usually driven by unstoppable rage, and wreaks havoc upon her foes

  • Beth can speak Draconic, and is able to befriend most dragons thanks to this ability along with her Dragonsoul.
