Her father was the Leafwing and left her mother, Firebird, with Tourmaline's egg. Luckily, she looked a bit more like a Skywing in color and was able to blend in and get along. Her mother named her after her favorite crystal, Tourmaline.

She can fly just as fast, though her fire is not as hot as the others, she prefers to garden where she can as she is a very delicate soul who prefers to keep to herself if there's any type of fighting. That being said, hurt any of her plants or insult her garden, she will turn into a much different dragon.

Her best friend in Goldstinger and she sees him as a big brother.
