Once upon a time a sweet and gentle little boy, because all tragedies must start somewhere adorable. 

Then he found out he could see the future, or at least the bits of it that ended in disaster. He tried to warn people, to change their fate, but since when has that ever ended well? In the end it was his own disastrous fate that he couldn't foresee, and denounced as cursed child and bringer of misfortune he was chased from his village and out into the lightless wastes, where he fell prey to the evil spirits that haunted it. 

He has become one of them, now. Just another evil spirit, luring people to wicked ends . . . 

But sometimes, just sometimes, he remembers the boy he once was and the dreams he once had, and wonders.
