Spiracle is a hyperactive, energetic, peppy, and deeply lonely changeling. Having to suppress herself to fit in under Queen Chrysalis’ rule was hard enough - leading to regular teasing from other changelings - and to make matters worse, she could never complete her missions properly, leading to being scolded and threatened by the Queen.

Things started looking up for Spiracle once thorax showed the hive how to metamorphose, and she did so the second she learned she could. More than anything else, she felt a sudden rush of joy when looking at herself, loving her new appearance.

If failing all those missions had any benefit, it was getting a lot of downtime around ponies. She doesn’t really get them, and thinks they’re pretty weird. But whenever she had to disguise herself as a mare it felt… different. Good different. She would try to sneak out often, hoping she could get away with disguising herself as various mares in public, hoping she’d get that same rush again.

Easily distracted, none of that time around ponies translated to learning much about how they operate, she was preoccupied with this strange warm feeling. As a result, once she could go out with the rest of the hive under King Thorax’s new rule, she often felt isolated. And she never really understood her fellow changelings to begin with, and had little desire to since they seemed to want nothing to do with her.

Often spiracle spends her time around the various critters living in and around the hive. She tells others that she can understand them, but in truth she can’t. She really just wants to make friends, and hopes one day she can. Maybe, if she keeps venturing outside the hive and trying to meet new creatures, she will.
