INTRO
Coccindia, (can be pronounced as either cox-in-dee-a or coh-sh-in-dee-a), is an extremely powerful god-like creature. It has been around for billions of years, and has been speculated to exist right when the Earth was created. It is from The Obscure, and spent the beginning of it's life mostly in it. No one knows if The Ladybug was born or created.
Standing at an astonishing 60 feet, (18.288 meters) The Ladybug has terrorized many civilizations for years. It had devoured many villages and towns from around 6000 BC to 1400 AD. It created 3 portals around the world that lead our dimension into The Obscure. It used these portals to travel around the world to feast. However, only it could access these portals using magic only it possesses.
It is like the deity equivalent of a drunken collage student. It doesn't like to take things seriously and LOVES to mess around with people. It is also quite careless and clumsy.
BACKSTORY
In around 1400 AD, a religious group known as the "Scarlet Slayers" were devoted to ending The Ladybug's reign of terror. They have spent decades studying The Ladybug and the Obscure. Soon they were ready to fight it. And so sparked a battle that lasted months between the Scarlet Slayers and The Ladybug. After many many deaths and defeats, the Scarlet Slayers managed to defeat the Ladybug and banish it to The Pit. The Pit is pretty self explanatory- it's a seemingly bottomless pit in The Obscure. It was then sealed in a barrier of the Ladybug's own magic, which the Scarlet Slayers learned to obtain.
Historians have found countless cave paintings, books, paintings, etc, of The Ladybug. They have just seen it as a mythical creature and a deity people believed in. Sort of like a dragon, no one really believed it was real, just a creature people made up.
THE CULT
In the 1930s a man found the ruins of the first portal The Ladybug made to the Obscure. It is the closest to The Pit, and The Ladybug was able to communicate to the man. The Ladybug convinced him that it was a god that would give him all his wishes and would make the world a better place. The man believed this and was later the founder of the Cult. The Cult's main goal is to free the Ladybug.
The man recruited many people in his local area, and the Cult thrived for decades. People believed the man was a "chosen one" of the Ladybug, and people saw him as a greater being. Once the man died, his children continued to lead the Cult.
Now, every cult member has a bit of Coccindias magic, more than others. This is how they can open portals. Portals can also be opened by ladybugs, which as stated before Coccindia created.
Creed was one of the first people to meet Coccindia while it was in the pit. Coccindia knew Creed is a runaway, which makes him special. No one has ever succsessfully escaped Rithtov. Coccindia finds this interesting, it has a particular interest in Creed. It often teases him while it is in Rithtov. Creed is very annoyed by this, and it makes it difficult for him to find a way to stop Coccindia without it finding out.
Coccindia watches Crystal and Alex carefully, ever since they were little. Why? The lord works in mysterious ways...
They both experianced many hallucinations of Coccindia. Adventually, this led to them wandering into the Obscure. Coccindia really does not like Crystal and Alex, just like everyone else in TPOC.
Before Mr.Grey became owner of Devorabunt, he made a deal with Coccindia. Coccindia was in the pit, but Mr. Grey went into the Wild part of the Obscure and Coccindia was able to communicate with him. This deal was, Coccindia will lure kids into The Obscure for the hotel, in return if Mr. Grey will defend Coccindia whenever it escapes the Pit. (Which, at the time it was very certain it would be soon.)
