Umeo

Umeo was just a normal little fox when a hunting party cornered him and threatened to end his life. He saved at the last moment by a two-tailed kitsune named Botan who agreed to serve the hunter in exchange for the fox's life. It has been many hundreds of years since this happened, and Umeo has since achieved enlightened status and gained tails, but he still considers himself indebted to the kitsune who saved him.

He is a good kitsune, called a zenko. He is bound to a small inari shrine, where he protects people from evil spirits. The people who come to pray there worship him almost as a god. Even though he is relatively young and hasn't achieved his nine tails, he is highly revered. 

Umeo tends to get along with everyone. 

He is mute by choice and prefers to live mostly the way a wild fox would.
