In a medieval setting, Dag Dag is the bloodletter in the small but growing kingdom of Little Root, ruled by Lord Kirby Nite the Great-- who presents himself as a benevolent king, but whose motives and sanity his people are beginning to question, as he gets more and more obsessed with the idea of a magical frog invasion, and intent on destroying any magical creatures who might threaten his power.

Anyway, that's none of Dag Dag's business.
