She was Arvin's starter pokemon in a pokemon themed AU - Adopted as a Cinderace that had been abandoned at a Pokemon Center. Other trainers in the area say the rumour is that she didn't perform well because of her temper toward the trainer, and that the trainer wasn't very nice to her either. He left her behind after a humiliating defeat. Arvin felt pity and wanted to try to help her... The Cinderace took to Arvin quickly, but indeed, she was very moody. Going off unexpectedly.. The nurses at the center mentioned that she tested positive for Pokerus when she arrived, which may have resulted in the change of her temper... Still, Arvin fell in love with her, no matter how spicy she is! She loves Arvin for all the attention he gives, and that he tolerates her bossy and fiery sides.

Arvin doesn't like to fight much, preferring a casual and fun friendship with his pokemon. 

Chilli can be fussy and hasty, but playful and sweet at other times. She can be a bit of a brat, and cries or gets angry easily. For a rabbit, she has a 'finicky cat' personality. She befriends and eventually mated with Salem's pokemon, a shiny Toxtricity. She loves games of chase, risky stunts, and is very possessive of Arvin.
