Ever since he was little, Victor loved card games. He always loved the adrenaline rush he got from deceiving his opponents and lying his way to victor-y. It was his word and he wanted to live up to it.
He found out he'd need math and elaborate strategies for that so he learned and learned and practiced every day. He got better by the week and soon found himself in underground casinos, playing for both money and fame. Eventually he figured that with the amount he won and accumulated, he could make even more money. By offering powerful but risky loans, with such insidious terms that only one party would come out having gained something. Victor. This of course left him with an ever-growing list of sworn enemies and he had to disappear and hide increasingly often, making it hard for him to operate.
So after his sister Prism married the godfather of a powerful underground family, he decided to join their ranks as their treasurer. The family offered him protection in exchange for him to make sure their incomes and expenses are in order. He happily devoted himself to the cause, seeing how he now was surrounded by like-minded individuals.
