Don

∇ DON ∇
Don is a very soft spoken, kind and caring fish friend. He spends his time in solitude in a cabin he build himself by the river in which he grew up next to.
While he enjoys his time alone, he does enjoy occasional day trips into town where he visits a local dessert chef and best friend. There she creates his favourite cakes and desserts.
He is responsible for almost all of the wood supply in the area surrounding the local town, but takes care to plant new trees for those he cuts down. He is a hard worker and loves the outdoors.
Don is often called Donny by his close and only friends. He is a sockeye salmon which are found in Alaska.
His name is taken from the Japanese dish "Donburi", specifically "Salmon Don".

PERSONALITY
Extremely altruistic and kind. While he spends most of his life alone, when he is with friends or even strangers, he likes to go out of his way to accommodate them.
He hopes that by super friendly and giving gifts, people will look past his shy and anxious nature when in crowds. Deep down he is quite self conscious about his size and occupation.

LIKES
∇ Hiking throughout nature and appreciating the world.
∇ SWEETS! He is a sweet tooth at heart and is something he is self conscious about.
∇ Gardening. A passion that he would love to share with his friends some time.

DISLIKES
∇ Large crowds. While he tried to be friendly and inviting, being in large crowds or anywhere near a city freaks him out.
∇ Being away from home. He gets homesick very easily.
∇ Winter, as its often too cold to properly enjoy nature outside and the snow is difficult to work in.

DESIGN
∇ Top Heavy. Large head, neck, chest and back. Small arms, smaller legs and a HUGE tail.
∇ Colour and patterns match that of a real sockeye salmon. If unsure about the patterns just use a real picture as a reference.
∇ Can be drawn "naked" alternatively, but with clothes on is preferred.

ALTERNATIVE STORY

Don has an alternative story and life to the one above in order to fit a potential animation for classwork.
In this story, Don is a single father looking after his unborn egg children on his own after the death of his wife. One day, he and his children are attacked while Don
works as a lumber jack, and in a fight for their lives, Don eventually sacrifices a part of himself to save everyone. The storyboard of version of events can be found in the gallery!
