Ara

Ara the Grove Snail - (Ahr-rah)

Still working on this girls story, but I have a few little tidbits in mind...

Physical Attributes:

• 6' 2" Tall 
• Omnivorous - Her diet consists mostly of greens and fungi, will eat fish she catches, opportunistic on eggs or game closer to when she hibernates for winter and needs to bulk up on energy
• Ara is a hermaphrodite but identifies as female - Her physical form and voice is feminine. Her male organs are hidden.
• Her skin has a sheen to it, but it is dry and buttery soft (not slimy) - She is squishy and can 'lose' her form to fit in her shell (it just magically works; imagine going from a body to a blob... it's probably very weird to witness)
• Typically sleeps during the day, comes out at sunset to sunrise. If it's a rainy day she might come out for a little bit.
• Hot sun/high temperatures are incredibly uncomfortable/dangerous, she can sunburn easily and become dehydrated, causing her body to shrivel and lose shape. It's not nice.
• She can control her slime; mostly... extreme emotional situations can cause slime to leak from her tail, varying amounts depending on her feelings. Shock, being startled, fear, sadness.

Character Personality and Quirks:

• Friendly, a little shy, likes to teach people about plants and mushrooms
• Lives in a forested area with a fresh water streams, lots of ferns and mossy greenery, a large meadow with a pond isn't far where she'll watch the stars at night or pick edible flowers. Tends to her own shade garden 
• She's very self-conscious of her slime and often times won't go out to restaurants or friends places in fear of making a slippy mess
• Nudist - Clothes don't fit well anyway with her ability to change form and are a pain in the ass to clean when slime gets on it - If she has guests she has a backup wardrobe or will wear what nature provides
