Physical features
Clifftail is an average sized tom cat, though he may seem a bit bigger due to his fluff. He is a little more stocky and strong than he is swift and agile. He has regular brown tabby markings, and a few portions of the white on his belly and neck extend farther up into the brown. He also has one small brown spot in the white on the left side of his face! And the tiniest of ear tufts.
Personality
He has a few basic words on his ref that describe his personality, but I'll go more in depth here. Clifftail is quite introverted and reserved. He prefers to listen than to talk, follow instead of lead. He doesn't like change or trying new things. Routine, familiarity, security - some of his favorite things. He fears being pushed into unfamiliar situations or doing things he's not comfortable with, especially if it involves other cats, which I explain more about next.
He values others' feelings a lot. In turn, this makes him very attentive to their feelings. He cares deeply about them and how he might be able to support them. Things that are important to them become important to him. He enjoys being a calm listening ear any time someone needs to talk. But his keen emotional perception also means he focuses a lot on how other cats might feel about him. This leads to his self-consciousness and difficulty in really opening up to them, but he tries to be honest and open when he can, at least with his close friends.
Despite him having what might even be described as cowardice at times, there is no doubt that he will complete a task assigned to him to the absolute best of his abilities. He is extremely responsible, dedicated, thorough, and meticulous. He takes his duties seriously and won’t cut corners or leave out details. He wants to help his clanmates the best he can (preferably without having to be in the spotlight), to keep things running smoothly. He'll work thanklessly to accomplish this.
He is loyal to a fault. His friends and clan can always count on him to be there when they need him. They won't have to worry about him being traitorous or selfish. However, this also means he'd be hesitant to leave a friend or group he felt connected to, even if it put him in danger or discomfort. And he would die for those he truly loved. Perhaps that is the only thing that would really push him out of his comfort zone, the only thing that would overpower his need for security - protecting his loved ones in danger or risking everything for someone that he feels it is his duty to take care of.
His MBTI type would be ISFJ.
Background
He grew up as the typical "shy kid," but thankfully he became friends with both Tansycloud and Pebblestripe, two of his clanmates growing up at the same time. While he feels closer to Tansycloud than Pebblestripe, he connects with each of them in a certain way - Tansycloud and his more emotional, caring side, and Pebblestripe and his more practical, detail oriented side.
Both of his friends, especially Tansycloud (perhaps because he feels closer to her), try to encourage him to get out of his comfort zone and let loose more because they're more outgoing. They've probably helped him more than he realizes, but sometimes their shenanigans are still a bit much for him and he likes to meander around Stoneclan's territory alone for a break and to let his thoughts wander in peace.
Despite his friends sometimes wearing him out, he really does love them and would do anything for them in a heartbeat. He may even feel more for Tansycloud than just friendship...
(okay, yes, he does. He's too shy and self conscious to admit it yet though, poor guy)
Unfortunately for him, there’s no way he can prepare for the way his life will be turned upside down when the wolves come.
