Physical Appearance

Clothing Style

Syke seems to almost always wear the same outfit when out and about, mostly because it's made from a mystic weave specially made on Lynxith that links with his aura and adjusts to his growth rate. This is convenient for the Medru Feelas since even if they die and are reborn, the material will gradually adjust to fit them again. It also seems to remove impurities on its own, so no matter how dirty, stained, or torn the garment may become it will slowly mend itself and remove any foreign materials or stains. For this reason it seems like Syke's white outfit never seems to stay dirty for very long no matter what messes he gets himself into.

The articles of clothing made from this material are his top, which is a tank top with a cutout at the midriff on the left side, the separate sleeves around his biceps and forearms, and his light blue pants with gray pocket trim and stitched patterns near the knees. His forearm sleeves have a white and gray triangular pattern along the end near his hands, which is a traditional motif of Feelina. Syke's white boots, which have gray and light blue accents, are also made from a type of leather that is similar to the mystic weave so it adjusts to his growth and tends to clean themselves.

Syke wears bandage-like wrappings around his chest up to his neck. He also wears small gold earrings in each ear, and the band he uses to tie his hair up is gray/silver in color.

Personality

Syke is an energetic and excitable boy who loves exploring the vast world after being cooped up for so long. He has a playful nature and tends to act a little younger than he actually is, and he tends to flounce around in a childish and whimsical manner. He has a bit of a short attention span and tends to be oblivious of a lot of things since he tends to only focus on one thing at a time. He usually seems rather cheery, but he can also be extremely blunt with his honesty and doesn't have much of a sense of sugar-coating anything or not bringing up sensitive topics. This means he's usually not very good at keeping secrets or putting things nicely, but he's by no means intentionally malicious and is usually just not thinking of the consequences of what he says. Syke also tends to not notice dangerous situations far longer than he should, yet he tends to have a lot of dumb luck about getting out of such situations unscathed. Although he looks very innocent and cutesy, Syke is often fascinated by morbid things and the concept of death. He's not particularly violent or sadistic, and he in fact dislikes aggressive and violent people, but he finds death and mortality to be very interesting and somewhat beautiful in a sense. For this reason he tends to be very optimistic about grim situations or heavy topics, but he is capable of understanding the gravity of these subjects as well.

Something that people will pick up on immediately when meeting Syke is his peculiar speaking habits. He tends to talk in third person most of the time, and he has a very shaky grasp on grammar. He also tends to mispronounce a lot of words, especially names or words with S's in them. Syke has studied many languages on basic levels, and although he has good memory for remembering vocabulary and can usually stitch sentences together just fine, he always has rather poor grammatical structure. In most instances, he tends to speak half German and half Feela (Feela being his native language that he has no problems with speaking grammatically, and German being the second best language he knows that he learned from the Transvanan vampires that he lives with), but his German tends to have very poor grammatical structure, so sometimes he's very difficult to understand. He blends the two languages out of habit and tends to not even realize he does it unless people bring it up.

Overall, Syke comes off as a bit immature and goofy at all the wrong times, but he is capable of taking things seriously. He can be a little sensitive about discussing his family situation, and it's clear he's a bit torn on how to feel about his family. He usually speaks rather fondly about his time living in Feelina, but he sometimes also speaks rather bitterly toward his parents and other authority figures of his homeland for sending him away to live on Transvana. Syke doesn't entirely understand why they sent him away, and although he loves his foster family very dearly and enjoyed living on Transvana, he tends to get brought down by the notion that he was unwanted by his own parents and people. Due to this, Syke tends to get very affectionate and loyal toward those who bond with him, and he's rather quick to consider others as family if they stick around him long enough. It's obvious around some of his favorite people, especially Neoka, whom he considers as an older brother figure, and despite his age and usual demeanor he can be very fierce and dangerous when fighting to defend himself or others he cares about. He's very quick and difficult to catch, and he doesn't hesitate to attack someone stronger than him if it means protecting someone he loves.

Weaknesses

• A bit goofy and inattentive, and he tends to be oblivious of danger
• Immature, a bit hyperactive, and has trouble holding still
• Difficult to understand since he blends two languages and has terrible grammar
• Rather homesick after his homeworld was destroyed and clings to his remaining loved ones

Backstory

Syke was sent to live with the Dissonance family, a pair of father and son vampires named Rhapsody and Vesper, on Transvana by his parents at a young age, so he never had much contact with his own people or culture on Lynxith. Only able to visit once a year, he didn't have much of a relationship with his tribe, save for his older sister, who traveled often and visited him regularly. Although Syke loved his sister and his cousins, Kotaka and Katako, whom he spent most of his visiting time with, he grew to have a mild resentment toward his parents and his tribe for isolating him from his kind without any sort of explanation.

During the War with Shana and her Army of Darkness, Syke ran away from Transvana to explore the war-torn world. He came across Neoka Emtratika, whom Syke began to look up to like an older brother over time. The two encountered each other on numerous occasions, sometimes traveling together, until the closing months of the War. Syke currently wanders Daliarivon, wondering about the rumors of Lynxith's devastation from the War. Although he's split between traveling there himself to investigate or returning to Transvana to ensure to the Dissonance family that he is safe, his decision has been postponed when he finds himself being hunted by the Enlightened.
