Zale was born in a bubble’s nest among multiple siblings as one of the middle children of the bunch. He and his siblings mostly raised by their father. His father put high hopes on his children that they’d outrank any other merfolk in the ocean, in all aspects may it be looks or fighting abilities. You can say his father hated to lose, and couldn’t stand his children losing, so he trained them to be the best.

Zale learned about the underwater world of competition at a young age, as his siblings would always compete with one another or other merfolk in aggressive manner for their parents’ attention wanting to make them proud in a way, even if mean beating eachother to pulp or almost killing eachother in the process. They knew their father hated losers and weak children, abandoning them alone in the dangerous waters to defend themselves if they were deemed too pathetic, keeping only the best of the children as his own. And the whole family knew their crowning jewel and favorite was the eldest of the family. His eldest brother had won multiple fighting competitions, placing the tops of the ranks and even scoring one of the most beautiful mermaids who not only had the looks but popularity that came along with it.

Zale was rather envious of his eldest brother, wanting to beat him, as he wasn’t much up to par in comparison to his older sibling -- though he was much stronger than the other merfolk by miles. So he decided to find the best mate and partner, but not only that he wanted achieve something much greater than his brother could not possibly acheive and that was becoming a king over his own kingdom. He found out about the Sacred Triangle as the waters were a safe haven for the merfolk from humans from his so-called buddies - more like minions - as they told him about the beautiful mermaids living there. So he swam over there to take a good look at them, wanting to find the ideal mate. And with that mate create their own new vast kingdom and a new royal bloodline.

• Exhibits strong colors only when agitated or his gills will flare up when angered
• Has an organ known as the labyrinth organ which allows him to breathe air at the water's surface.
• Use to be a bully when he was a teen.
• His necklace is actually human made, Zale always states he got it from beating up a human who drowned in the water, as if it was an acheivement of some sort.
