Leslie was never the most athletic kid in the world and didn't put much thought into playing sports when he was little, but after he saw his first hockey game at 7 he was hooked! He was especially impressed by the goalie, and loved the thought of actually being an important part of a team, all while never having to run! 

Learning to skate and everything wasn't easy, but he kept at it and practiced every day after school until he got the hang of it. He also played on a team while in elementary school, but once he made it to junior/senior high it was a different story. The school he went to was BIG on football and wasn't exactly known for its hockey anymore (not in recent years anyway), and there wasn't much interest in even forming a team when he showed up.

But just when he thought his hockey-playing days were over Cedric and his dad showed up, eager to get a team going, and with Wolf arriving on the scene soon after that he was able to bring all his gear right back up from the basement.
