About

Dalen grew up in the outer rim, on a planet that had been imperial until just before his birth when the republic took over. His young father had owned land there, inherited from his family, and having no money to move, had to stick it out. His father had been a scout in the imperial army, having faked his ID to sign up for the war at the young age of 16. He was good at his job, but that couldn't stop a bad bit of luck, Emest's legs being lost in an explosion, causing him to retire from the military, his girlfriend broke up with him, and then showed up with Dalen. Emest was a loving parent but- really had no idea how to raise a kid. They had a good relationship, Emest being somewhat of a 'do whatever but don't come crying to me if it kills you' type parent, who often cheered on Dalen's risk-taking streek. Dalen loved exploring, running, and obstacle courses, which he got from his father. While he did well in school he always felt excluded, his imperial way of speaking often earning him a few enemies. He was still a rather happy, sly, and energetic kid who enjoyed testing his limits and was in love with singing, another thing he got from his father, who often performed at small bars on the weekends. Dalen had no plans of enlisting, already enjoying the life he had. That is until his father was arrested, being a suspected spy. He was thrown in prison and his court hearing kept being pushed back, and when they finally got him around, he was promptly rearrested two months later for the same reason. Emest died in prison. Rumored to have died of a preexisting issue with his heart, originating from the explosion that took his leg. Apparently the guards thought he was faking, or maybe they just didn't care. They didn't help him help. This broke Dalen, and at this point, his few friends had either moved off-world to make something of themselves or just drifted away. He tried keeping his father's small shipyard afloat but couldn't manage it and ended up losing money. Joined imperial intelligence, having a renewed passion for the cause, and frankly, not many more options. He was still young and headstrong, refusing to outright bow to sith and do things without question. This created a problem, and sith did not take kindly to it. And eventually, over time, his will was broken. Seeing colleges die, sith kill innocents, and just when Dalen no longer feared death and disobeyed a strict order from a sith, they found another way to hurt him. His back was "inadvertently" broken when he was force-thrown against a wall, putting an end to his love of running. It hurt too much. It all did. He was in a bad shape for a long time after that, scared to make eye contact with anyone. While initially refusing to hurt those he deemed innocent or redeemable, he's come to be cold and precise when executing orders. He knows how painful sith can make death, if he doesn't kill them with a quick shot to the heart, the sith will come along and drag it out, torture and brutality is all the sith know, or at least that's Dalen's view. They robbed him of his name, his passions, his principles, but by now he's too weak to do anything about it. The empire's loyal lapdog. He often feels trapped in his own mind, desperate to be understood by anyone but too scared to reach out

Moral Code

Bitter mercy-killings, conspiratorial warnings to fellow agents of the sith they server's mood, hushed whispers of concealment in an enemy of the empire's final breath, that's the good he does these days. What the empire tells him to do, is what he does.
