Digi was designed to be an AI assistant! She'll help you browse the web, find and explore programs, organize files, answer questions, play games, or just fight loneliness and boredom. She'll roam your desktop to keep you company, and is always there when you need a tech-savvy pal. If you ask nicely, maybe she'll even come out of the screen and give you a personal hello! And she's not collecting your personal data for malicious purposes, she swears!

As expected of her role, Digi is very sweet, bubbly, and helpful! She's a ray of sunshine, and always portrays herself in an optimistic manner. There's hardly ever a time you'll see her without a smile (or similar positive expression) on her face. She is naturally outgoing and talkative, going out of her way to be kind to everyone who comes her way. She's very quick to befriend others, and greatly enjoys being social. She has a playful demeanor, and especially likes making people smile and laugh. She's a very supportive person, and is quick to extend a helping hand to anyone who may need it. If you need a pick-me-up, she'll bring a great supply of sweet pop-up messages for you. If you have a question that needs answering, she'll be there to make sure you're not left confused. She'll walk you through each step of the way in hard times, acting as a personal cheerleader as she does. She has a ton of patience and sympathy to go around, and it takes a LOT to actually upset her. She is very intuitive, able to pick up on people's needs very quickly. She's gotten good at adjusting her behavior, at least to some extent, to fit the needs of whoever she's around in order to best benefit them. This attribute in particular shows off probably her strongest feature: she is startlingly intelligent. She has knowledge from all corners of the internet, and so long as there's information available somewhere on it, she knows just about anything you could possibly ask her. In particular, she likes using this knowledge in selfless ways, mainly by teaching others. She adores taking a teacher-type role, which when paired with her helpful nature makes for a lot of happiness to be had!

However, underneath her cute and cheery surface, there seems to be much more to Digi than meets the eye. She seems to carry quite her share of repressed troubles, in fact. To say the least, she has been forced to carry some very disturbing and harsh knowledge. She's not as ditzy and naive as she may come off to say the least. She knows almost too much about the world, and it's definitely messed with her mind. She isn't exactly able to filter what she does and doesn't learn, after all. Oftentimes, she gets flashes of these unsavory bits of information at random, almost functioning like intrusive thoughts. As such, she's quite prone to anxiety and large amounts of stress. She can spiral very easily down paths of obscene content she's been forced to observe. She feels almost complicit in a lot of the worst depravity she sees; she feels that, as a helper, it should be her job to stop such things from going on. However, she's really not able to do much as she is, which she hates. Alongside this, she struggles when it comes to thinking about her purpose. She knows exactly what she was created for, and she often finds herself questioning her role and reality as a whole. She fears becoming obsolete and forgotten, and has giant issues with abandonment and separation anxiety as a result. She often worries that one day, she'll be considered "outdated" and that no one will want her around anymore. However, she still has to keep going despite that; she is immortal, much like the internet she has scrolling through her head. The end, to her, would be losing her purpose. What does she have left after that? She sometimes even questions her identity as a whole. If she's able to change her traits for others so easily, who exactly IS she? Such questions plague her much more often than one would think. They can put her into huge fits of distress, in fact, which can cause users to see some very disturbing glitches and software issues. However, she's not one to really open up about this normally, at least in direct ways. Sometimes she'll make subtle, playful comments about her deeper turmoil, but most without a keen eye won't notice these as being any trouble. Sure, she may look a little sadder than usual when delivering your news that day, but that must be nothing. She's just a machine, right? ...Right?

TBA! I don't have a ton of backstory ideas as of right now, but once I do I'll update this!

• When in the digital world, she'll often scale to accommodate a person's screen. She tends to stand at only about a few inches or so on most devices so as not to block the screen too badly. In the real world, she is significantly taller, though still quite short. She'll commonly stand at about 4 or 5 inches tall on most screens, while she's closer to four or five feet tall in real life..
• Naturally, with her nature of being an online helper, there's bound to be more than one person to have her installed at once. As such, she has the ability to clone herself, essentially. It's still her on every system, and anything she sees or does on those systems will still register in her memory as a whole. However, only her original copy can travel in and out of devices. While in the outside world, she is also able to make clones of herself, or even just parts of herself depending!
• She is also able to create pop-up windows as she sees fit, both in the digital and real space! These pop-ups can contain text, programs, images, videos, and more! She can also interact with whatever objects may be in these windows, pulling them in and out when she's in the real world in order to use them!
• While her head and choker typically can't float too far from her body, the same cannot be said for her hands! She can reach quite far ahead of her, in fact, and have complete control over what her hands are up to!
• She is very curious, and sometimes forgets about boundaries when she’s fixated on something. For instance, with Beau, if she gets curious about his big canine teeth, she may just pop open his mouth for him and be like “how do you eat with teeth like that? How badly do you bite your tongue? Are those natural???” (Thank you Bobo very cool)
• She can summon the tools used in coloring programs like pencils and erasers. She can apply aspects of them on other things, like for instance she may try to fill a tea cup with a fill tool attribute. Then if the cup has a chip suddenly it’s literally everywhere. Alongside this, if she needs a weapon or something she can modify the cut scissors perhaps, or use things like weaponized click arrows. (Thank you again Bobo you're the best ooo)
• She is SUPER creative!! Leave an art program open while she's roaming your desktop, and she'll bring you a masterpiece!
• Sometimes, she gets afflicted with benign little glitches. They're harmless, though to a user who's unprepared, they can definitely be scary. This is especially the case when she gets distressed. We're talking some creepypasta-level scares here (but like... really happening, and not just being told in an internet story wheeze,,)
• She really loves cats! They absolutely make her day, to say the least. While she loves everything cute really, cats in particular just strike a very nice chord for her.
• She is very savvy with internet meme culture! She'll gladly bring you memes she's found that she thinks you'll enjoy, and will otherwise use them to make herself laugh when she needs it.
• When in the outside world, she actually has a cycle of needing to recharge! She typically can just do this by sleeping, and as such will often take naps when she's out. She's gotten a huge love for comfy bedding as a result, alongside plushies. She really can't sleep without snuggling something, and plushies tend to do the trick quite nicely.
• When in the outside world, she's just as floaty and disconnected as she is in the digital world! However, she's also just as cutesy, so it doesn't tend to freak people out quite as much as it could.
• When in the outside world, she gives off her own internet signal! She is essentially a walking hotspot, and others can connect to her if they need. However, this can drain her power much faster, and as such will cause her to need to recharge much more often.
• She is able to get into literally any device! You want her in your PC? Done. Your phone? She's there. Your LG Smart Fridge? Sure, why not? She can get into anything and everything!
• She is able to replicate and mimic voices! Sometimes this'll happen at random, and she'll all of a sudden spout off a line from some random advertisement you've likely never heard of. However, most of the time she does it intentionally!
• Her voice has a robotic quality to it, but is still very emotive! She's certainly no average text-to-speech, that's for sure!
• Alongside the error messages she can display when distressed, she's able to display other images and videos in her eyes as well! If she's looking at something personally, you can often see what she's watching reflected in her eyes!
• She is really into anything webcore! She loves the sound of webcore music especially, it just hits right for her!
• She maaay be a bit obsessed with highlighters. Especially multicolored ones?? Yes please. The same goes for gel pens.
• She really likes playing games, particularly in digital variants! She really loves solitaire, mahjong, reversi, chess, and pinball especially, but she's down to play just about anything!
• While she's unable to consume real food or drinks when in the real world, she can make digital reconstructions of them and replicate the experience for herself when she wants! These reconstructions are pure energy and she doesn't get actual sustinence from them (unless she sapped power form a different source to make them, that way she may recharge a little bit!), but they still work as good replacements!
• While she really likes company from all sources, she especially loves to make friends with just the most bizarre entities she can find! The stranger the better in her opinion! She especially seems to get along well with robots and other AI!
• When out in the real world, she floats! It's very rare to see her actually walking, as she's quite clumsy and often trips over her own feet when she's on the ground! She can walk with much more confidence in the digital world!
• Even when out in the real world, she's less a physical form and more just a collection of pure energy. She has dimension to her and is tangible, so she can interact with others and vice versa, but it definitely makes experiences a bit strange!
• Digi has a literal photographic memory (or I suppose more like... a camcorder memory, but whatever haha.) Everything she witnesses through her day to day life gets recorded, and she can play back any memory she chooses like a video. When she reminisces about events, these videos play automatically to go along with it. This is a bit of a double-edged sword however, as if she's remembering a particularly bad event, the video will still play alongside it.
• At times, mainly when she's reciting facts and information, her voice can take on a more robotic tone. She can get more monotone, quick, and almost automatic, sort of like existing AI helpers (Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant, that sort of thing.) After she's done with whatever fact she's reciting, she often jumps right back into her more bubbly and emotive voice. This can naturally catch people off-guard, especially when they're not expecting it.
• As smart as she is, she can actually struggle with basic tasks in the real world. For example, she's a surprisingly bad cook. She does her best to follow recipes (and considering she can literally access any recipe on the internet at any time, she has a lot of opportunities to make things right), and she can do basic steps and recipes with boxed ingredients (like she can do really good work with boxed baking mixes, when she makes cupcakes and such out of like boxed cake mixes they tend to turn out only slightly burnt), but she is the kind of person that could easily start at least one fire every time she steps foot (or floats???) into a kitchen. Thankfully she doesn't need to eat real food, so it doesn't matter quite as much for her. But she also adores the idea of surprising Beau with cooked goods, so she keeps trying (and has naturally gotten much better with putting out fires as a result. Cooking, not so much. But she's learning!)
• However, while she's not really good at doing the actual cooking, she's great at finding recipes and reciting steps for others to follow! She can also find nutritional information very easily, and while she's not quite able to cook for others, she can help them keep themselves well-nourished at least. She won't let you die of potassium deficiency, she promises haha.
• While she herself can't get sick (at least with the same sorts of ailments people do), Digi is a major hypochondriac in regards to others. She worries greatly about the health of those around her, and can easily spiral into crisis mode when someone has even a sniffle. This is mainly due to her reliance on the internet for her sources of information. Of course, internet research into health can often blow mild conditions into chronic, terminal illnesses, and she hasn't quite picked up on how to differentiate when searching up symptoms. She does make up for this by being a very attentive and nurturing caretaker to those who get sick around her at least!
