Artur / Tuuri

Star of the East

Once known as the Star of the East, Artur was a god-hunter: primed from childhood in finesse, speed, and strength for the sole purpose of stabbing a shard of Heavensunder into a god's chest. It was what he was made for - and what he was deeply talented in.

He considered himself lucky. After all, few were able to meet the most skilled hunter, the Godblood Leech, in person - let alone work alongside them, let alone be privy to their inner thoughts, let alone find oneself in their bed at night. They were inseparable, partners in crime, one and the same person in all ways that mattered.

At least, until the apocalypse ripped them apart. Artur lost Artemis the second day of it all, when they were called upon by two different companies to rescue trapped executives. When Artur arrived at the distress signal, they were long dead. And when he came upon Artemis' group, they too were nothing more than bits of gore - with no Artemis to be found.

The loss of his partner was a chilling thought. Raised together, trained together, it was as if Artur had lost a half of himself - a half he'd kept in another person, locked away. Like an open sore, the pain never truly faded - not even as he picked across the newly-barren wastes, raising the dead, healing the sick, acting as a god would.

Because that was what he was now, no? A god. They had killed the rest, and now the earth was his to inherit. And he would be a just god - giving his people no reasons to dream of killing him. He gathered a small band of confidantes to himself, and set out to begin preaching his word to the abandoned people of the waste.

Of course, when news of Ocypete's survival met his ears, he was at once shocked and amused. Of course, of all the Harmonics... no matter. He'd march to the Standing City and demand Ocypete's unconditional surrender. His old coworker Godscourge was already whittling away at him.

Color Artur's surprise when, on a fateful day during the trek to the City, he came across Artemis - flanked by his own small band of survivors, on their own way to the City.
