Appearance
- Dark, 'intense' eyes
- Shaves his head often... Always goes as short as possible without actually picking cueball bald
- Working muscles-- not for looks, simply function, Iwa's wide frame and slight gut is usually mistaken for overindulgence
- His natural tanned hue can often be even darker due to being outside running errands for his superiors
- Even though his face isn't kind by normal convention, he makes up for it in attitude, and sometimes he can come off more shy/sweet than he really is...
- Will take out his piercings if he's trying to appear responsible or make a good impression (though it doesn't ever seem to help much)
- Leaves his chin scruff be most of the time since it takes forever to grow out. He wants his modicum of manliness beyond his height and weight
Personality
- Seemingly soft and kind-hearted
- Stubborn as all hell if he feels incensed about something

- Can be considered 'weak' to most who put on a front: he isn't afraid to say he's afraid, but regardless he'll probably forge through any hardship despite complaints
- Too enthusiastic for some (usually the ones he loves, as that's the time he appears most energetic-- not so with strangers)
- Wants to fit in badly despite not properly feeling like he fits in anywhere
- If left to his own devices he can be a slob (and if given the slightest incentive he can clean up fairly decently)
- Deep down is a little more tight-assed than the subversive way he eventually warms up into being; for example, even if he likes programming more than working out/fighting, he would have a hard time giving those blood-pumping, energy-wasting things up despite enjoying time on his computer far more than the average joe.
BIO
Totally chill gangster. Appearances aside, his jocular facade leads others to think perhaps he is just 'unlucky' to have such a hulking stature.
It didn't always start off like this. Iwa's future was pretty bright before he felt the need to move to America. He thought it'd be like his dreams growing up: full of nonjudgmental Americans (some that would no doubt be taller and wider than him), pretty girls, good movies, and people that desperately wanted his expertise in programming-- namely big companies... Ones his family would recognize.
It was due to this seemingly simple point that Iwa clung to his pride when taking so much of his parent's funds to move to America comfortably. Months had passed without a single call back from the reputable, worldwide companies-- and there were opportunities for lesser companies with lesser pay, but Iwa knew without a doubt that his parents would catch on if he couldn't afford what he had started off with, and that wasn't what he promised them, and surely they wouldn't accept such a sad excuse of a life for their special, intelligent, worldly son.
Iwa wanted to make it. He refused to turn back home with his tail in between his legs. So what did he do? He just up and joined the yakuza.
It wasn't easy, and for a while they outright laughed in his face, knowing he wouldn't be of much use. But his desperation that he had been holding in for his family poured out enough that the yakuza began to pity the kid with every visit. Those certainly weren't crocodile tears Iwa was shedding. And damn, did every visit (without fail, always on time, always cordial, despite being so large and sometimes spooky) wear those errand boys down...
Eventually Iwa made enough to recompense all that his family had spent on his move-- and enough to look like he had made it in America the way he promised his parents, who are still unaware of how far their son had taken this point of pride.

Kyoji Tanaka
Kyoji is Iwa's cousin (their mothers are sisters). They don't get along all that well despite being pretty damn similar, but that probably stemmed from Iwa being so pushy on the boy when they were very young. And as they grew up pretty close together, Iwa refused to leave Kyoji alone in school, constantly trying to point out their relation and their closeness, only making the kid clam up further.
Trivia
- His English is quite messy, and his accent is thick. Has to repeat himself a lot.
- Spends all of his free time practicing programming instead of working more and forging inner-mob relationships (the way the yakuza wants him to). Most people don't even know that side of him/this intense hobby of his in America, though
- Deathly afraid of getting on the wrong side of his boss' family and getting a finger nipped off (lol)
- Loves.......... Dogs and cats... and wants so many all the time........................
- Could definitely afford a car but only uses a bike-- and more commonly, public transportation. This is strictly for when he's off-duty, of course
- If he sees 'love at first sight' (this happens a lot to him)..... He will trip over himself to woo the apple of his eye for the day. He is used to being denied and rejected, but even still... It stings a little. His approach is always so awkward though and he doesn't seem to learn from these mistakes.
