Jacob is driven by two things---money and curiosity. He'll do anything for a paycheck, and finding the answers to the "what if?" questions in his mind are worth any potential consequences. He's a fearless man who sees the world as his personal experimental playground.

His biggest breakthrough was the creation of his Malden nanites, microscopic machines meant to be injected into a patient to monitor their health at all times. The tech is faulty, and has a chance of mutating people into developing superpowers, but Jacob keeps this flaw a well guarded secret. He created RANSOM to spread more nanites across the country and study these superhuman patients while fronting as harmless medical centers.
