Barley

Barley is a Swap type Sans from an AU called HauntedSwap (everyone is haunted by people who died near them / people they killed, the soul chooses who to stay with). When he was younger, the only person he really knew was his older brother Rye (Papyrus) . Barley and Rye lived alone, homeless and hiding from the war in their universe. Rye and Barley took over an abandoned house and lived together in there, finding two kittens, Day and Dream, and raising them. Rye was killed along with the two kittens in a house fire started by humans, but Barley survived with only a broken, now blind eyesocket, having been teleported out of the burning house by his dead brothers soul and the two kittens who all merged into his body ( Rye stays hidden inside of Barley , but helps by using magic with Barley and guiding him. The two kittens are the ghosts who are his tail (Day) and in his eye socket (Dream)). As he got older, Barley began living “alone” after the age of 18, not long after the war ended, the monsters having been sent back underground where they had lived once before, and locked away (in this universe the monsters were free, but made their homes underground as to keep a little away from humans for safety, until the humans began a war on monsters and they officially locked them away with a barrier.). Barley lives in Hotland but always seems sad. He guides Chara around the underground. During a genocide route he stays locked up in his room only leaving for the judgement hall where he fights Chara and gets killed.
