Personality

Calling Roswell ' self-centered' is an understatement. He's cunning, arrogant, sly and egoistic. Roswell leans on his high charisma, and foolishly bravery to see his plans succeed. He's a thief, in every aspect of the word. Quick hands, quick reflexes, and the 'itch' to take everything that isn't his. Roswell is a leader. A cold, strict Leidsman, the king of the Orphans and Baggers, his Krakers. People he ensnared with esotericism to work for him. These Krakers aren't loyal to him, as he isn't loyal to them either. They just, are forced to work together and doesn't really form a gang, like the other Leidsmannen and their followers do. Roswell is disloyal and when he's corned, can be a bit impulsive. Overall Roswell is a quick, creative thinker. He rarely solves his problem with violence and takes pride in outsmarting people instead. He's a stagiest and a very patient one. Can play mind-games, for months if he has too.

_{forum game notes :Hes not a pirate. Only invites guest and friends to his office in the old Chapel, rarely to his apartment. The location of his windy  apartment is a well kept secret. He's piss poor and loves to bet on dog races. Never seen without an eye patch. Considered one of the tallest people in Drakenburg. Not fond of dogs (except dog races) His relationship with Xander is an open secret. Never killed someone and will never kill someone. Frowns upon mercs and assassins. Like other thieves in my setting he values life over coin. . Roswell wield a gun with one(1) bullet in it. Never fired it. Sleeps with his kram (dagger) under his pillow. Always(!!) on edge and alert. Knows his surroundings well.  collect cigarette cards. Sometimes robs graves of freshly hanged criminals (he doesn't dare to touch other} graves in fear of decease) to steal teeth and sell them as prosthetics. He sometimes gets corpse fat from the hangman for his rituals. Mostly smokes from a white clay pipe. 

History

Roswell is born in a noble family, in Mosch as the second oldest son. His twin brother, Mashall, was 2 minutes older than Roswell and thus entitled to inhered the family legacy. Roswell was send to the church in Mosch, to live and study for an 'enlightened' life and to be a priest someday. (So that he could serve as the van Breek family's link to the Church and the high Religious ranks in Mosch). Roswell, wasn't a big fan. When he heard that he had disinherited himself from all 'earthly bounds' and had to give up all chances of getting the wealth his family possessed, to progress in his studies, Roswell called quiets. He ran away from the church, Mosch, and his families wishes, when he was 15 years old. Roswell joined the circus (like the edge boy he is,) that was in town that very moment and worked there as a stagehand for a couple of years. But silver-tongued young Roswell knew how to pierce his way into this knit band of misfits. At some point the magician of the circus, took him under his wing and learned him the tricks of the trade. Roswell had his first act as a well trained illusionist when he was 16 years old. He became 'famous' when he was 18, and his stardom reached top height when he was 32. Fame, wealth and alcohol did strange things with our fellow Roswell. He made friends and enemies alike and gambled a lot. He felt intangible and so very important. But even Gods and Roswell's unlimited Ego can be killed. In the summer of 1059, Roswell's world got flipped upside down. The circus was back in Mosch again. It was a warm, brooding summer. Perfect weather for a fantasy plague. The incurable sickness Bluefever hits Mosch like a train. The city get isolated, nobody can enter, nobody can leave. Roswell is trapped, with a lot of people, that want to see his massive gamble bets payed. Roswell had heterochromia. He had one grey eye, one blue. People believed that folk with heterochromia had "Void Blood", special blood that can cure any disease. These tales are old and not many people believe them, but if you're isolated in a city, where everyone around ye gets blue fever, and you don't want to die, you actually believe strange things like that. So his gamblemates made Roswell a deal, he gave them his 'magic eye' and they gave him a big sum of money. 'Enough to live his last days of his life in some honour'. Roswell brushed off, told them that his family, that still lived in Mosch, would give him a place to take refuge and that he would wait there until the Bluefever was over. But, when he returned home, since 20 years, things had chance. His mother and sister were visiting an aristocratic family outside Mosch, and hadn't any plans to return to the plague-infested city. His dad was still there, just as the nanny. Roswell's twin brother, Mashall on the other hand.. Poor ol' Mashall, had Bluefever and was on the brink of dying, when Roswell entered his room. Instead of, comforting his 2 min older brother, Roswell stole his ID and left the home without saying goodbye. :^). He then takes the shady deal, sells his eye and used the money and freshly stolen ID to bribe the guards at the train station and lefts for Drakenburg. A city in Krettwick, and the last city in the North.

When Roswell arrives in Drakenburg, he uses his money to hire an apartment and lives as a street-magician for a year. Him losing his eye damaged a lot of his acts and the winters are cold in Drakenburg. So he starts to steal. Turns out, Roswell is actually pretty good in stealing. (Who would have guessed!!) He steals, takes on filthy jobs other thieves feel too entitled for and steals some more. His chance to grow, bares itself in the form of the Old Chapel. Esotericism, real magic, is an art that's only practiced in religious-environments, as their buildings (churches, abbeys etc ) are all built around esotericism. You see, esotericism is the art of, manipulating the Void that lingers in everything and everyone in this world building. The Void is attracted to light and religious-buildings tempts to be designed around this aspect. Roswell that studied to be a priest when he was younger, knows his way around in Esotericism and starts to sell his 'skills' on the black market (read: he enchants items for money, big money). Roswell turns the Old Chapel into his headquarter, and disguised it as a soup-kitchen where he shelters all the people he tricked into a soul link with him, all his so called Krakers. Weakelings that Roswell uses to gather goods or information of the city.

The people of Drakenburg are familiar with "The Crow" in 1080. He's an (in)famous thief, who's services dips in the 'dark occulted' magic if you pay him enough. He tricks Salvador out of his job right into his greedy hands. As Roswell needs a Half to help him with his biggest job yet.

Roswell never intended to care about Salvador. He was just another pawn in his crooked plan. Turns out that Roswell indeed has a heart, maybe a small one but gosh darn, he loves is 'fake adopted children' with his entire (small black radish sized) heart. Salvador and Roswell often butt heads together, as Sal is very stubborn and Roswell a big control freak, but that's the big reason why Roswell gets attached to this miner's son.

Leika is Roswell's bodyguard. She has the physical strength and quick gun movements that he misses. Leika is his only loyal follower, rarely ask questions and likes to bark at Roswell's enemies. She and Roswell get as close as pesky father and bullying daughter and would get out of each other's way to help the other (Leika tempts to go out of her way 'just a bit' more then Roswell).
