Introduction
Initially opponents in the different fighting game tournaments they competed in, the two of them became friends after Sandalius joined Xenophon’s team & friend group. While they are both very awkwardly dating after learning they had crushes on each other, they learn how to show affection to the other with the help of their mutual friends.
Sand is so freaking cool! I really want to surpass him one day, but he's still very firm on keeping his rank and would never want to hold back! Wish I wasn't so awkward, though.
Xenophon is someone I very much look up to. I enjoy his energy, and it's no wonder he's a fan favorite in the competitive fighting game scene. I genuinely want to express my love for him more, unfortunately I don't have this type of experience.

Fox vs Falco
In Myosotis, a huge Smash tournament was hosted in Lavatera Arcade. It was one of the few international tournaments that assembled many of the top players in the world. The final matchup was between the 23rd & the 16th players, and the fight was going to be very entertaining. After lots of ups and downs, Sandalius’s Falco had won the tournament, allowing him to keep his 16th position.
Despite losing the match, Xenophon took the loss like a champion, and so did his team. Seeing them still celebrating despite this made Sandalius think twice about his current situation. Xenophon & Sandalius exchanged contact information before parting ways, but they did not communicate to each other for a while.
Xenophon:
I probably had the most fun during that matchup! Really glad I get the opportunity to fight him more often. :)
Sandalius:
Almost everyone I've fought before that point were either boring or too strong for me. I'm glad I had this matchup.
More frequent battles
With Xenophon’s information, Sandalius found out about the team he was in and chose to leave his previous team. It gave him grief anyway, so it worked out for him. There, he was always paired with Xenophon to increase the chances of winning tournaments. As a result, they were winning lots of tournaments with their combined skills and were very well-known as a duo.
Seeing that Sandalius was often alone, tournament aside, Xenophon invited him to meet his friend group, who all have gone through a lot in their lives before befriending each other. Because of this, Sandalius was able to befriend some of them a bit more easily, and he wasn’t alone anymore as a result.
During this time, Sandalius also got a lot closer to Xenophon. They both started developing feelings for each other, making a lot of their interactions more awkward outside of tournaments.
Xenophon:
...He's even cooler when he warms up. Help.
Sandalius:
It was worth leaving my old team for this. But, god...
Awkward boys in love!
Their mutual friends noticed how obviously in love the two were, and tried their best to help them start dating. Eventually, Sandalius was the one who confessed his feelings to Xenophon. While this was a very awkward experience for the two, they understood that they both had a lot of work to do emotionally.
With the help of their friends, who were all dating, they slowly find ways to express their love outside of the many things they do to make the other person feel loved when they’re playing together. Despite this, they always feel bad about being too awkward for the other, even though they are both extremely forgiving to each other.
Xenophon:
I love him so much. I'm so bad at showing it, though, my god.
Sandalius:
I love him so much. I feel bad for being awkward, though.
Trivia
- In team tournaments, they are ALWAYS seen competing together under the name of "Neon Cataclysm".
- It happens often that the two of them go shopping for snacks. One of them always grabs the Mountain Dew while the other one grabs the Doritos. Then, they always awkwardly stare at each other and buy them anyway.
- It's hard for them to gush to each other about the things they do to each other. Because of this, they often wait until they're alone at home to scream about how much they love the other person.
- They often eat out, as neither of them have good cooking, but they can fend for themselves. Their favorite locations to eat from tend to be from bars that sell pizzas, nachos & burritos.
- When not training for tournaments in Lavatera Arcade, they enjoy seeking for new arcades & bars to hangout at and can sometimes be seen reviewing the places they eat at. They have an extensive tier list with all the locations they've eaten at.
