Formerly a changeling named Nirven, he was shy and very naïve. He fell in love fast and hard with Rosir Rhuios. It developed quickly into an obsession.
Rosir admitted a passing desire to be the next king and Nirven made it happen. He sacrificed his health to Ygar, quasi-god of undeath, treachery, and rot, to get Rosir to be the next king.
Rosir never knew about this. He began to follow after a noble lady before becoming king. Slowly becoming more and more friendly.
Nirven began to become more and more jealous of their relationship. In an act of jealousy he confronted Fanyanna and it turned violent, both fighting for their lives.
Nirven took the form of Fanyanna, struggling to maintain the appearance due to his illness, and grew close to Rosir. Keeping by his side as he grew closer and closer to the crown.
Finally, when Rosir was about to step up to the coronation, Nirven confessed his love as Fanyanna.
Rosir denied her.
Nirven, hoping he assumed that it was actually him that Rosir cared about, revealed his identity, and Rosir denies him again. He realizes what's going on and questions Nirven on where Fanyanna has been, but Nirven deflects. Things escalate and Nirven runs, heartbroken, chased out by the king's guard as Rosir is crowned king.
Nirven makes another pact with Ygar, begging for the power he needed to destroy everything he had given Rosir, to destroy Enid, their country. In exchange, he would help Ygar gather enough power to break from Ekijma's eternal sleep curse.
Zilgris spent years causing minor damage to the country, sending plagues during the white plague to kill off countless people in select cities, making more and more deadly sicknesses.
This directly caused the death of Lutz's mother, Erna.
Zilgris endeared himself to Lura Beartooth and the Tribe of the Bronze Pass years later after the war, slowly pushing them towards war.
Years pass until current day in the campaign occurs, Zilgris has the Soul Forger Gauntlets, ready to craft the armor of the undying knight. The Bronze Pass ready for war when winter ends. The capital suffering from his most deadly sickness yet.
