Florian

About

Florian is very narcissistic, and will often brush off people he deems to be 'lower' than him. If for some reason he is in a poorer part of a city, Florian will perform a simple version of his act for free in order to bring smiles to people's faces and give them a break from their crummy lives.

Personality

Florian is very materialistic and narcissistic. Of course to other nobles, this is normal behavior for someone of high class and they respect him for being so blunt with his feelings. Usually when he's around lower class individuals, he's very dismissive and outright ignores them, feeling as if they aren't worth his time. 

Although Florian dislikes people getting close to him, he finds it unavoidable to get attached a person from time to time. He can only handle fake company for so long, after all. Despite him normally gaining romantic feelings to those he gets attached to, Florian will still attempt to push them away by brushing off their problems and talking about his own rather than helping them.

For anyone who is willing enough to continue in attempts to become his friend, Florian doesn't know how to act around them. It's common for him to then become very nervous and quiet, trying to find out the real reason why they want to be close to him. 

Backstory

Being stuck as the middle child in a wealthy family of 7 kids was... a bit rough. All the eldest children were constantly getting in trouble while the youngest ones were always whining for attention, thus leaving no time for Florian at the end of the day. Out of petty spite, he decided to leave home at the age of 17 in an attempt to create a name for himself. If those in his family didn't want to give him the attention he deserved, then he would make sure to become bigger and better than all of them combined. Maybe in a few years, he would go back just to rub his success in their faces.

Through dumb luck, Florian managed to "befriend" a cousin of the king, whom agreed to mentor him. In trade for his mentorship, all Florian was required to do was pretend to be in a relationship with his mentor, that way her family would stop trying to force her into an arranged marriage. The agreement seemed easy enough, so he accepted her offer without a second thought. Little did he know, the woman was cruel. She used Florian's desperation for fame against him and forced him to become a housemaid, working him long and brutal hours. Refusing to go home and admit he was wrong, Florian put up with the woman and continued to live there, using her status as a way to boost his own.

During his time with his mentor, Florian discovered that he had a natural talent for magic. He began to practice and research spells every day after his pretend fiance went to sleep, trying to figure out a way he could incorporate it into his passion, entertainment. 

As a way of starting off his career, Florian performed a surprise magic show for his mentor's family at a party. What better way to get famous than to show off in front of royalty? 

The king was thoroughly impressed, and asked Florian to perform again at an upcoming royal gathering. After working out a payment, Florian cut things off with his mentor as quickly as possible. Whenever her family asked about their relationship, his response would always go along the lines of her being disgusting in bed. No one dared to question it.

In almost no time at all, he soon was invited to parties of all kinds. As his shows spiked tremendously in popularity, Florian decided to take a break in performing. After all, if he keeps his shows limited, then the demand and payment would increase. Now a days, it's hard to find a court who doesn't know the name Florian Petru.
