Personality

Caelan has a very tough exterior, a shell of bitterness and puffed up feathers that covers up something much more fragile. Often brash to strangers, she won't warm up to people until she knows that the individuals won't torment her, instead keeping a boisterous, lively front. While she sometimes has a tendency to boast and pick fights that she may or may not be able to win, she's extremely loyal to those who have gained her trust and is quite the storyteller.

She wants to prove that she's worth something, and gets extremely defensive of others when they're torn down, whether it be by themselves or by bullies. Caelan has adopted a couple corvid-like tendencies, much to her chagrin- most notably she compulsively hoards shiny objects (sometimes giving them to Io for her inventions). 

Strengths / Weaknesses

• Her tenacity is admirable. Once Caelan sets her sights on something, it's very rare for her to back down.
• Caelan's eyesight is impeccable, and when she focuses she can pick up a lot.
• Intelligence is another strong suit, despite being a bit unconventional. It's probably in part why her and Io get along so well.
• Although they can maneuver in the air rather well, Caelan is not a strong flyer. Their stamina leaves something to be desired.
• Caelan often puffs up her own ego by boasting, and won't back down when called out to prove their words. This gets her into a lot more trouble than she'd like to admit. 
• She also has a tendency to be self-conscious about herself, causing rash decisions and self-depreciation due to doubt.

Likes / Dislikes

• Caelan loves to sketch and is actually pretty good at it- her favorite medium is charcoal, and it's not uncommon to see the dust on her hands.
• They also have a soft spot for the Riverhouse and its residents, but particularly the XIII family and especially Io. The Riverhouse was a safe haven for her away from her uncle when things got too rough, and Cae and Io have become thick as thieves.
• Caelan really loves being scratched on the soft feathers on her back, in the space between her wings.
• Shiny objects are both a fascination and a frustration for the crow girl. They tend to be drawn in by the bright glare and sparkles but at the same time hate the fact they do. To compromise, they usually dump most of their findings on Io, who can usually find a use for them in her inventions.
• Self-esteem is not their strong suit, they have a hard time thinking of themselves in a purely positive light.
• Glass and Caelan are mortal enemies. She's run / flown into windows and glass doors more times than she'd like to admit- luckily none of them have caused any real damage yet.
• Caelan is very, very wary around drunkards, especially violent ones.
• Absolutely loathes mayonnaise.

Relationships

	Sione "Io" Caelan has a huge, totally-not-subtle crush on Io, but is too preoccupied trying to hide it from her that Caelan doesn't even realize the feelings are mutual. She often tries to impress the demigod and can't stand seeing Io upset. They've been friends for several years, and through trials and hardships have developed a close bond.
