Gargoyles in their world are made by a magic user and from there can be re-carved and remade into new iterations, new generations. Each successive Gargoyle remembers very little from their previous life (referred to as their parent), but some things like muscle memory and deep defining events remain. Casper knows she was made when her mother suffered a fall from a very high height, and just remembers falling. Her mom was also a dollmaker and puppetmaster, and she kept up the family business. Her mother's husband put her back together, and helped re-cast the spell that creates Gargoyles, and raised her as a daughter. They grow emotionally very quickly, and are typically considered their full new selves within a few months. 

Casper likes anime and sketching in her books. She's taken to experimenting with materials, and lately most of her actors have been plastic and vinyl. She's not as good at carving as her mother was, and usually uses 3D printing to make her dolls. She possesses the dollmaker magic that her family line has had, and by focusing on creating every detail of her dolls intentionally, she is good at creating well rounded and deep individuals that feel as real as possible once they come to life. Most of them don't even know they're dolls until they're told.
