☁ About her Personality
As a result of her young death, she can seem very immature at times. She's very paranoid and untrustworthy of strangers, as well as deeply pessimistic in nature. However, as she's spending more time with the friends she's grown to trust, she tries her best to adapt to their behaviour. Being more open and even friendly, while still maintaining a sarcastic tone.
About her abilities ❇
As a half Malaet, May posesses a little bit of light, although less than a full Malaet, which she can use to do various things. She mainly uses it to teleport between smaller distances, as well as healing small wounds on others whenever they get injured. In the past she has also used her light to temporarily blind people and even kill someone by melting their skin

Design Notes
- She has vitiligo, the biggest spot covering the left side of her face and her left shoulder
- She has dark freckles
- Several scars, most prominantly two on her right cheek and three on her right shoulder
- Her right leg is missing, she wears a permanent metal prothesis that has begun to rust over the years
- She always wears a light blue crystal on a reinforced string around her neck
- She wears one part of an earring set that Ana gave her
- She's mostly depicted with human-like ears, however she does actually have the common ears of a Malaet, as well as the markings, she just chooses to hide them
Backstory
As a toddler she was brought to a different world by her mother in order to stay hidden from her father, who wanted to use their rare powers for unknown reasons. Her mother, not wanting her daughter to grow up with that picture, instead told May that her father had died, which resulted in her never being aware of the danger.
Four years later, at 7 years old, her father managed to find them. Out of vengeance he killed his wife and planned to take and raise May from that point on, but she managed to flee from him, still not knowing who he truly was.
With no knowledge of her real home, she had no choice but to stay in this world. After living with abusive foster parents for three years, who she both accidentally killed out of self-defence as her powers awakened at age 10, she was forced to flee again.
During this time she met a man named Milo, who took her in and treated her as his own daugther. Although it took some time, she grew to trust him eventually. But this moment of peace wouldn't last long, as her father was still out there looking for her. When he found out about her whereabouts, he sent someone to kill Milo and retrieve May. But once again, she managed to slip away.
Vowing to never let her guard down again, she decided she was better off alone. Three years went by living in the wilderness, but the last winter was too harsh. At 13 years old she was slowly starving and freezing to death. To avoid the agonizingly slow process, she decided to instead end things herself. At nightfall of December 17th, 4171, Maiara Cecil died.
Her father never stopped looking for her.
After Death ✝
On the morning of December 18th, 4171, Maiara Cecil awakes to a strange sight. She sees herself, covered in blood, dead.
It seems that she has unfinished business in the mortal realm.
🏳 Present Day, Year 4178
Since the day of the explosion something fundamental has been broken inside of May. And although she doesn't want to admit it just yet, deep down she finally knows what she has to do in order to find her peace.
But for now, she wants to spend more times with the family she found.
Alex: Best Friend
Alex was Mays safeline right after Naila had died, she took him in and quickly grew very protective of him. She's since realized his strength and knows that she doesn't need to protect him.
Ana: Best Frind / Crush?
Ana was the answer to the question that May had asked herself her entire life. Was she the last Malaet? No, but Anas sudden appearance and mysterious past only opened up more questions.
Naila: Mother Figure
One of the two last remaining friends May had made right after her death. Through the years they had a lot of fights and heavy topics to cover, but at the end Naila took May in like a stray cat and protected her until she died. May feels guilty and responsible for her death, even though she helped in bringing her back.
Whisk: Friend/Father Figure
Whisk had a strange start as a friend. But after many years she grew to trust him.
Kin: Little Brother
She knows he has a lot of secrets, but she just goes with it. She never got to be a big sister, but maybe she can try now. Feels calm around him.
