Dude was adopted by Guy and Jesse when he was a very little kitten, and was very loved through his life. He always wanted to be a vampire, but wasn't born as one. Once, when he was still a little kitten, Guy gave him a 'magic' denture that would make him a vampire. As he grew out of the denture, Guy always gave him a new 'magic' one. Dude still uses this kind of denture, and insists he is a vampire. No one has the heart to say that he is not. He has sort of adopted as his little brother Boy, an older than Dude bumblebun. Boy tolerates him and it seems enough for Dude.
