The world of Impar is a different world compared to Pokémon World. As it stands, the world of Impar is one that is not only filled with Pokémon and humans. Oh no. Demons, angels and all kinds of oddities exist within this universe. However, to avoid disturbing the order of the world, these beings keep themselves in realms that rest opposite of Impar, only visiting the realm if they wish to explore the unknown. However, one has to wonder how Impar itself was created. We do know Arceus and Mew were involved in the process, but few are aware of what created this world. There are theories, but most are proven wrong. The answer itself is quite simple.

The plates are how the world was created.

These elemental spirits gave the ingredients needed for a world to be born. Their mere presence inspired the world to adapt to what was needed. They gave Pokemon their type and the legends that once held them the powers they would be known for. However, for decades, many regarded these spirits as nothing more than tools for Arceus. They thought that they lacked sentience and the ability to feel human emotions. These mortals were wrong in their assumption. Oh, so wrong.

Here we have Bruce. Bruce is the Fist Plate and has the title of the Fighting Spirit. Being the eleventh plate that was made, Bruce always kept that youthful energy that he had for some long. While that energy would occasionally waver from the tragedies he would witness, it would never die out. His determination has always been something that kept him going. Even during the hardest times, it has always been the one thing that he knows he can trust as it made him who he is today.

His name was Bruce. At least that's what Arceus told him when he opens his eyes. Bruce was born from Arceus' natural ability to advance, and Choarlnaa' [Fighting Type Primal]. Being Choarlnaa's champion, Bruce was the Fist Plate. What was the purpose of his creation? Bruce was going to the one who promotes the start of natural selection and evolution. Bruce was like a child. He was optimistic, hot-blooded, and goofy. There was something about the way he looked at things that made some of the plates rolled their eyes. Not everyone was bad! Everyone has a purpose for existing, and that purpose was to help the world! Everyone was so youthful! So wonderful! So great! Bruce had a special level of innocence that even Meadow and Pixie were surprised by. How can someone like him be so positive was beyond them. That amazing part was the male managed to maintain this for so long.

Bruce was more or less the kid brother to all of the plates. That's something that would continue to be a thing up until Icicle's rebirth. No one bothered to try to convince the male that he was wrong in his thinking. It wasn't worth the time, and they couldn't bear the thought of hurting his feelings. Mind and Iron were protective of the male, especially given how involved he was in the mortal's life. They didn't want anything to happen to someone as innocent as him. He was their setmate and someone that was a brother to them. Bruce did care about his fellow setmates and did enjoy the time he spent with them. They made him so special, and they were the best thing that came into his life.

Well..besides Samael.

Samael was the Draco Plate. He never really liked that name as it was far too formal in his opinion. A strange thing when he decided Lord Draco was an appropriate name. Personally, Bruce preferred Samael. He had a body of a beast, but a spirit that far too beautiful in his eyes. To most, he was rude, disrespectful, and cocky. That's how he liked others to see him. It made him feel important. However, Bruce was one of the few that saw through that. Samael was someone who was trying to make a name for himself. He wasn't necessarily intelligent, but he was slick. He was easily angered but had that softer side to him. He was an unusual plate, but an interesting one nonetheless.

Bruce always found Samael to be appealing. Not just in terms of his personality but also his looks. He didn't bother to try to maintain a formal appearance in terms of his looks. It was fascinating given how he has presented himself as a form of royalty. You wouldn't think that someone of such ranking would present themselves in such a undignified matter. That was not the case for Samael. Samael had always had that wild hair of his. He would always hiss at those who mention the thought of cutting it as he was prideful of its length. He embraced that wild side of his as noted by how we maintained his claws and the other draconic parts of his body. For a beast, those were the parts he felt needed that he had to maintain. As a draconic Plate, he had to lay out the standards of what it meant to be a dragon and what was exclusive to them. He rarely shaved as he never saw a need to do so. His clothes were often simple. Sometimes, he would go a day without them, but those days were rare.

But honestly what drew Bruce to Samael were his scars.

Bruce was never a fan of scars. At least when they were on his skin. They were ugly, nasty, and made him feel pathetic for allowing himself to gain these markings. However, Samael was different. The male prided his scars around like they were trophies. For every scar he gained, he would grin with delight. Was those scars a symbol of his worth? Did it make him stronger? Bruce never bothered to ask him. It's not that he didn't want to know the answer to it. The male was simply worried about Samael finding him weird. What kind of person would ask, "Hey! What's up with your love for scars?" That's just plain weird. However, Bruce couldn't help but feel a bit envious at seeing the male ability to have pride in having these markings. It's something that he honestly wants.

Regardless, Samael and Bruce never interacted until the incident centering about the death of Iron and the near-death of Mind. Bruce wasn't there when all of that occurred. The male had been with Pixie and a few other plates. However, that didn't matter. Bruce was setmates with Mind and Iron. Setmates had an empathetic bond that allows them to sense their feelings, emotions, and the pain they feel. However, that bond is only triggered unless the quantity of whatever that person feels is to a higher degree. In other words, being emotionally distress lead to that bond opening. Considering Iron died and Mind was nearly killed, it's not surprising it opened. This led to Bruce feeling the pain the two were experiencing. Hell, he even heard the pained sounds they gave and their pleas. Dealing with this caused Bruce to breakdown. Never in his life had he ever dealt with something as brutal as this, and it scared him. He wasn't sure what he was dealing with or what was even going on. All he knew that he wanted it to stop.

It did end. Thank god it did. However, he soon learned what happened. Zap had killed Meadow and Iron. Mi (one half of Mind) survived, but that was only because Ni (the other half of Mind) fused himself into the female. Death wasn't a new concept for Bruce. He is fully aware that plates could die. He always tried not to be brought down by this fact. However, to see what happened to his Setmates (and one of the oldest plate) frighten him. To hear that this happened as a result of Zap made the fear he had worst. With so much fear, Bruce couldn't help but run away. Yes, he was aware he wasn't going to go far since Arceus could sense him. Yes, a plate can never 'truly' die. Yes, maybe he was probably going overboard about the whole running thing. However, he didn't know what to do. He was so scared about the idea that he could end up being next on the list. No amount of optimism can ignore that fact. So..he ran and ran until he was alone. When he was alone, he just got on his knees and just quietly sobbed.

He kept sobbing until Samael came.

He wasn't expecting Samael to come after him. They barely knew each other, and it wasn't like they were friends. However, he came, and he sat next to him. He didn't mock him. He didn't nag him. He didn't do anything but sit with him. Bruce ended up pressing himself against the larger male and sobbing into his side. He didn't know why he did that. Perhaps he just wanted an excuse to cry on something softer than a tree. Regardless, Samael let him and hugged him. It was surprising but welcoming. The male's mere presence was welcoming. He wasn't being cruel or evil. He wasn't judging him or laughing at his pain. Samael was doing his best to try to comfort him. Bruce was never sure why he did. Even with the knowledge of knowing about his softer side, Bruce never saw Samael act this way towards the other plates. It was such a strange thing.

"If you don't want to die, you have to become stronger. Crying like a baby won't make you stronger. Being scared won't make you stronger. Training makes you stronger."

Samael wasn't usually one who gave advice. It just wasn't his style. However, he made that exception to Bruce. While Samael was blunt with it, Bruce appreciated Samael's words. While it wouldn't get rid of his fear of dying, it did allow the fire of determination to return to his heart. It burned with the desire of pushing forward through whatever means necessary.

The relationship with Bruce and Samael became a strange one after that. Bruce was one of the few people that Samael allowed to call him by the name that Arceus assigned to him. Bruce never understood why that was the case. Maybe it was because he couldn't be bothered to correct Bruce whenever he would slip up and call him that. Regardless, their relationship has always been centered around fighting. Not arguing. Hand-to-hand combat. Both of them enjoyed fighting as it brought a level of thrill to them. Not only that, but fighting was a way for both of them to get stronger. It was something that Bruce desired as he hated being weak. After all, a weak plate was a plate was most likely to die. Bruce always saw Samael as his equal. In truth, the two of them were two sides of the same coin. Samael was a wild dog while Bruce was a domesticated dog.

However, the journey during the POA sparked something new to Bruce. He found himself feeling so strange around Samael. It wasn't immediate mind you. It was something that progressed over time. His skin would tingle whenever he would grab Samael's hand when he helped him up. He found himself smiling whenever he saw the male. He found himself daydreaming about doing fun things with Samael. He got jealous when the male would compliment someone who could be his potential mate. Every time he saw the male, he just became more stunning.

He was in love with Samael.

Bruce wasn't stupid. He knew that he was in love the second he started to get intimate thoughts of the male. As someone who watched the mortals and was abound to someone who feeds off love, he couldn't deny it. However, he did his best to hide his feelings for Samael. After all, he didn't know if Samael liked him like that. He never showed interest in being in a relationship. All he cared about is getting stronger. Bruce didn't want to ruin the relationship they currently have. He enjoyed their dynamic even if he wanted more. It was something that he would continue to struggle with over the years that would only become complicated sometime after Damian's fall.

Damian's fall occurred after the male was hit with Naoto's move and sent flying off a cliff. Falling into a coma, Damian was teleported away from Mi to an unknown location. However, the plates themselves were panicking as the damage done to Damian's body was severe enough that he was lying close to death's door. While he did have the benefit of reincarnation (thanks to his guardian status), the plates didn't know what would happen to them when Damian died. There was also the concern that Yveltal wouldn't be fast enough to save him. For that reasoning, they decided to fuse with Damian. While this did mean Arceus would no longer be able to use them as they were stuck with Damian, they didn't have any other options or the time needed to reflect on them. Giving a silent apology to their Creator for what they were going to do, these elemental spirits fused themselves into Damian, becoming one with the male.

Bruce's determination was shaky during the time Damian was in a coma. He never thought he would see the day that the man would enter such a state. In a way, it scared Bruce and reminded him back to what happened with Mind, Meadow, and Iron. However, Samael was there for him. Bruce knew why he was always by his side. They needed each other during that time. All of the plates were broken in some way. Not physically but mentally. Mind blamed herself for causing the "War of Providence". Insect lost connection to his partner and felt so lonely. Icicle was so scared that Damian wouldn't wake up. Bruce never did learn what brought Samael sorrow and pain. He never liked to talk about that. However, he was there for Samael as Samael was there for him.

Bruce and Samael became closer. Sexual relations became a thing that was introduced into their relationship. It started as a form of stress relief, but it became something complex. It became one of their ways of comfort and allowing them to see each other in their primal state. It got them to communicate more and truly test what the other was allowed to see. For Bruce, it was a trap that only pulled him deeper into his love for Samael.

Honestly, he was fine with that.

When the "War of Providence" ended, things became strange for Samael and Bruce. It is unclear where they stand in their relationship. They do care for each other, and Bruce does love Samael. However, it's unclear where Samael stands, which makes things so much harder for Bruce. They do have a daughter, who complicates things further. Regardless, Bruce has kept his head up. He still retains his role of the more positive plates that refuses to give up.

Maybe, that's why he hasn't given up on his hope of Samael possibly loving him.
