About

The world of Impar is most certainly a different world compared to Pokémon World. As it stands, the world of Impar is one that is not only filled with Pokémon and humans. Oh no. Demons, angels and all kinds of oddities exist within this universe. However, to avoid disturbing the order of the world, these beings keep themselves in realms that rest opposite of Impar, only visiting the realm if they wish to explore the unknown. However, one has to wonder how Impar itself was created. We do know Arceus and Mew were involved in the process, but few are aware of what created this world. There are theories, but most are proven wrong. The answer itself is quite simple.

The plates are how the world was created.

These elemental spirits gave the ingredients needed for a world to be born. Their mere presence inspired the world to adapt to what was needed. They gave Pokemon their type and the legends that once held them the powers they would be known for. However, for decades, many regarded these spirits as nothing more than tools for Arceus. They thought that they lacked sentience and the ability to feel human emotions. These mortals were wrong in their assumption. Oh, so wrong.

Here we have Ni. Technically, he is the tenth plate to be created as he made alongside his sister, Mi. Ni was once the Mind Plate and had the title of the Psychic Spirit. However, that changed when he gave up his essence to his sister. He didn't think that doing such a thing would lead him to become a new plate. One that is born from that is tainted but oddly tamed. This would turn Ni to the Fallen Plate with the title of the Shadow Spirit. It's a strange thing but it did allow him to be 'reborn' so he can't complain.

Design

Height
6’1 feet (or 185.42 cm)
Weight
158.4 lbs (or 71.8 kg)

Appearance

When compared to his old form, Ni's current body is shown to be much more muscular. It can't be seen thanks to the outfit he wears, but that doesn't seem to bother him that much. Ni has slightly tan skin with pointed elf-like ears on the sides of his head. He has light purple hair that is longer (and spiked) in the front and short in the back as well as the sides. Matching colored sideburns run down the side of his face. The male also has a long, fluffy tail that is often wagging behind him.

Ni's attire consist of a purple tank top ripped at the back that barely covers his black and red boxers. He also wears dark purple pants held up by a light gray belt. His pants are tuck into his dark purple shoes with white laces. Completing the outfit is a short, light purple coat with light purple trim and a red zipper. On the back of the coat is a symbol of a black serpent.

Notes
  • Ni will only put his hood over his head whenever he's in a foul mood or sulking.
  • The whites in Ni's eyes become black whenever he's under the heavy influence of his powers. Not only that but the fluid that escapes his body becomes dark purple/black.
  • Ni's tail react quite a bit with his emotions with his body language corresponding with that of a canine.
  • Ni has noticeable sharpen canines. Those canines are sharp enough to do some serious damage if Ni chooses to bite anyone with them.
  • When pushed, Ni can take the form of a large, gooey canine capable of summoning snake-like tendrils.
    • It should come to no surprise that this form is constantly changing its appearance due to the nature of the taint Ni used to go into this form.
    • It should be noted that Ni himself can't stay in that form for long as it does take a lot out of him.
  • When Ni is in Hyper Mode, a red and black aura does emit from his form.
  • Ni wasn't really a fan of his current outfit when he first received it, but he eventually got used to it.
  • Given the nature of Ni's fighting style, it's not surprising to see new scars on the male's skin.

Personality

Traits

  • Sadistic
  • Courteous
  • Cruel
  • Gentlemanly

Likes

  • Meat. Ever since his 'rebirth', the male has developed a strong craving for the flesh. This is due to his 'feral' side.
  • Fighting. He always gets thrilled at the thought of going into battle. Something is intoxicating about it.
  • Books. He loves to read and spent a good chunk of his free time doing just that. He's fond of mystery novels.

Dislikes

  • Anyone touching his tail. Don't even consider touching it unless you want to be bitten by him.
  • Citrus. Those irritate his nose quite a bit to the point he does try his best to stay away from it.
  • Anyone hurting his family. Never ever do that if you want to live.

"You know back in my day, purple wasn't exactly a symbol of someone being a potential threat....."

When you meet Ni, you wouldn't think that he was a shadow since he contradicts the standards of one. Ni himself is a courteous and almost impeccable guy to those he met. His smile can warm the heart of those he encounters, and he carries with him the desire to serve his host, Damian, with how willing he was to ensure that he survived after being rejected from his sister's body. He enjoys studying other species despite how much he regards them as "difficult creatures". In a way, he is fascinated with their struggles and determination. It's amazing to him how is intrigued by how seemingly insatiable they are and what length they are willing to go to be satisfied. Ni himself is shown to be quite the gentleman and seems to regard those he meets with a high level of respect. For those he cares about, he can be protective of them to the point he can come off as being a guard dog of sort.

Beneath all of this though, Ni has a callous, heartless, and sadistic side. He has no problem attacking others if he feels if it's necessary. Being a shadow brings out that diabolic side of him that believes the world is a dog-eat-dog world, and he must survive through whatever means necessary. He enjoys his chatter with Hyde when it comes to how he feels about the order in the world. In a way, it reminds of him of the chats he usually had with Henry when he was around. Speaking of which, his relationship with Hyde is a strange one. Not surprising given the fact that Ni date the 'old' Hyde. Ni also has no problems being critical of whatever decisions that Pixel himself makes. It's not a bad thing as it does spark Pixel to work harder to prove to Ni that he's better than him. It's something that Ni feels is needed as he wants to ensure his host and the plates survive.

Taint [Weapon]

Taint is the physical manifestation of Corruption. The matter itself is further explained in Ni's powers. Ni prefers to use this as his weapon. It's not surprising with the number of uses it has and how he doesn't have to worry about it 'breaking' or 'being useless' in battles. Weapon wise, Ni channels taint in the form of clawed gauntlets. These gauntlets are hardened and plated in a way they look like purple magma flows within them (when in reality, it's the taint itself). Ni mostly uses these as it allows him to practice his melee combat. He never got a chance to do so, given how he was previously one half of the Mind Plate. That and he's a sucker for slashing people.

Corruption Manipulation

Being the Shadow plate, it's no surprise that Ni has access to Corruption Manipulation. With this, Ni can manipulate the powers of corruption to induce a variety of effects. At his current state, he can't do such a thing to other people unless he personally 'infects' them. However, he avoids doing so as manipulating the properties of corruption in an individual, other than himself, can be dangerous. If he's not careful, he can inflict them with madness or mutate them. With this, Ni can use corruption in means of combat purposes, energy attacks, or corruption techniques. Corruption Manipulation is a very experimental power. What Ni can do is based on his imagination and how far he is willing to embrace the corruption itself. The more he embraces it, the stronger he becomes. However, the stronger he becomes, the nastier he becomes.

Supernatural Condition

It is no secret the plates have enhanced condition/supernatural condition. However, Ni himself is a special case. The male is one of the strongest plates when it comes to overall physical and mental abilities. With the shadow virus, Ni's physical and mental abilities are naturally superior over some of his fellow plates. His body can withstand forces that can easily kill an average human/Pokemon, and he possesses an accelerated healing factor. Despite no longer being the Mind Plate, the male has a high level of intelligence. The more he uses his corruption manipulation, the more pain becomes less noticeable for him. This isn't to say the male is unstoppable. It should be noted that fairy moves and all things tied to pureness can severely harm the male due to the nature of the shadow virus.

Taint Generation/Taint Manipulation

So what is Taint? Well, for Ni, taint is the physical manifestation of corruption. It's what flows in the veins of those of the shadow nature. For Ni, he can manipulate this taint in various forms. It's something that very few shadows can truly do with the amount of work that goes into doing so. For Ni, the male can turn the taint into tools, objects, weapons, semi-living constructs, and structures/buildings of varying permanence. For the male, he tends to use the power to alter his appearance or generate new body parts such as claws and spikes.

Shadow Moves

Being the Fallen Plate, Ni has access to shadow moves. When it comes to shadow moves, the male can not use Shadow Blast and Z-moves. When it comes to his favorite move, Ni is fond of Shadow Chill. He loves the move because it looks cool, and it's the only move that Zap and Haru don't have that. It should be noted that he has access to other typed moves. These moves are ones he learned from the other plates during the time he was typeless. That was one of the easier times he can learn their moves. As such, for each plate, he carries one move from theirs that has a slight shadow hint to it.

Summary

Creation Era

Their names were Ni and Mi. At least that's what Arceus told them when they were created. Ni and Mi were born from Arceus's awareness of the world and Ka'llrocgho [Psychic Type Primal]. Being Ka'llrocgho's champion, Mi and Ni were the Mind Plate. What was the purpose of their creation? They were supposed to be the bringers of knowledge. With how complex knowledge was, two beings were needed for this task. Ni was a charismatic, young man that knew how to bring a smile to your face. He wasn't a serious guy in the world, but that didn't bother anyone. All that mattered was that he was a good friend. Mi was on the opposite end of the spectrum. She was serious and was more focused on her duty as a plate. This isn't to say she was stuck up per se. She just took her job way too seriously. However, regardless, Ni and Mi love each other. They were willing to deal with the other's nonsense as they completed each other. They were Yin and Yang. They didn't mind the mortals. Granted, they were in charge of ensuring they continue to grow.

The twins' relationships with the other plates were positive. Most of the plates respected what the twins did and their level of tolerance towards the mortals. In terms of their setmates, they were relatively close to them. Both saw Fist as their younger brother and did all they could to keep him safe whenever they're together. For some time, he was innocent and bubbly. For Iron, that was a completely different story for the twins. For Ni, he did respect what Iron did. The male was leading the charge for the birth of technology, and it was something that was taking most of his attention. It was something that Ni wasn't sure he could do by himself.

For Mi, it was complex. She liked Iron. Spending time with the male was one of the things she enjoyed. However, the male was causing her to feel things she wasn't expecting to feel. Whenever she sees him, her heart will race, and she feels butterflies fly in her stomach. She finds herself questioning if Iron feels anything special from being with her. Looking at him always seem to make her blush, and she finds herself reliving fantasies of being with him. Whenever anyone calls his name, Mi would perk up and try to see if she can spot the male nearby. Her heart melts when she listens to him laugh. Her heart melts whenever she sees that smile on his face. Despite being the Mind Plate, the female failed to realize she was in love with him. Love was a strange concept for her that she hasn't yet explored.

Mi wasn't the only one to fall in love. Ni did as well. Through the years, Ni would fall in love with Henry (the Normalis Plate). Spending time with the male certainly helped in that regard. There was something pure about Henry. He was like a puppy with a desire to learn. They would spend time talking about the information Henry discovered from walking with the mortals or how things were going with their respective jobs. Through their interactions, Ni would flirt with Henry. In his defense, Ni was simply trying to understand Henry and get the male to open up. In a way, it did work, and it wouldn't be long before the two would find themselves in a relationship. It wasn't long before the two would find themselves in a relationship. Granted, it was a secret affair as the idea of plates being in a romantic relationship was unusual. They didn't have the time to focus on such a thing. Behind closed doors, the two plates explored more of their forbidden love while falling deeper in love. Henry filled Ni with something that made him feel so alive. It was something that he craved, as he never had the chance to focus on the little things in life due to his job.

But all good things have to come to an end.

It started one day when Mi, Iron, Meadow, and Zap went on a mission to take care of a Pokemon running amuck in town. While Arceus wasn't usually a fan of stepping into what he declared as mortal business, this Pokemon was one that Arceus himself didn't recognize. As such, the group was assigned to find the Pokemon and take it back to him. The four managed to corner the Pokemon outside of the town and was successful in knocking it out. However, during their journey back home, something happened. That something being Zap attacking the other three plates. To this day, Mi can't tell why this happened. Zap has made it very clear that he wishes to avoid mentioning his reasoning behind this. Regardless, it happened, and it was brutal.

You wouldn't think Zap could easily take down three plates, especially when each of the plates was strong in their way. That and it was Zap going against three plates at once. However, this was a plate with the mind of an assassin. He knew the many ways to kill someone as he thought of that every day. So, it wasn't shocking to see that the three were quick to succumb to his attacks. Meadow was the first to go. Unfortunately, this incarnation of the plate didn't have a high enough special defense to endure the waves of thunder sent through them. The fall of Meadow was what made Iron and Mi realized that Zap was not planning for anyone to survive. Mi was the next to go. Zap managed to catch her off guard by (literally) backstabbing her. Now, she didn't immediately die. Her determination was preventing her from doing so. After all, she didn't want to embrace her reincarnation as she feared to lose her memories of Iron. She desperately wanted to hold them close to her so she wouldn't forget she loved him. However, her will was wavering as Iron was the last to go. Mi doesn't even know how Zap killed him as her senses were muddy. However, she felt when he died. It was the curse of being his setmate. You have that empathetic bond that allows you to feel the sensations and emotions they felt from experiencing whatever was causing them to be emotionally distressed. In this case, it was Iron's death. She felt his pain. She felt his sorrow. She felt every single thing. However, what broke was hearing Iron's last thoughts:

"Please...please spare Mi. She doesn't deserve this pain."

Iron did get his wish though. Ni and Hyde arrive just in time to save Mi from receiving the final blow. However, her wounds made it clear she was going to die. Not even the Jewel of Life could repair the damage done to her body. Ni knew this and made the decision that he felt was best for his sister's survival: fused himself with her. He knew that his sister's feared dying and the concept of reincarnation. Once you came back, the memories you had of your previous life were shattered. Ni wanted to spare his sister from dealing with that. He loved her and wanted to remain who she was. Ni knew that Henry didn't want to lose him. He knew how much this would hurt him. Ni knew this and can only apologize to Henry. He didn't want to leave him, but the male didn't want his sister to suffer. In their last few minutes together, the two gave each other a silent embrace while whispering three words: I love you. And with that, Ni fused with Mi.

Rotom Era-Our Story Era (Now)

Ni never died.

Yes, he did give away his very essence to Mi. With it, his being was used as a means to prevent the female from cracking further. His presence slowly mended the wounds she sustained from Zap attacking her. However, this didn't mean he died. Dying would imply that he faded away into nothingness. That was not the case. After all, that would mean that he would leave his sister's side. It was something that he couldn't allow. He loved her. While she may not be able to hear his voice or see him, he will always be by her side. After all, the spirit of his was bounded himself to her. In a way, he was her guardian angel. One that was only able to guide her through his powers as his purpose was to make her stronger.

He did fulfill his role, though he fulfilled it too well. His sister did get stronger. However, she grew stronger by taking his powers and his typing. It wasn't shocking. He was one half of the Mind Plate, and he wasn't his powers at all. After all, he was dormant. It was a necessary thing for him to be in this comatose state. However, his identity was stripped from him as the centuries pass. As such, his body knew the best way to protect him from it was by putting him to sleep. However, as his powers and typing were removed from him, he became empty. No, typeless. Being typeless was a strange thing. You were more vulnerable in such a state as you were essentially a baby. Just one touch from something could cause some form of disruption. It was sensitive to the exposure of types that it became easily influenced by them.

It wouldn't be long before Mi would reject Ni from her body. At this point, Mi's body had embraced its role as the complete Mind Plate after taking everything it needed from Ni. The rejection itself occurred a few days before the beginning of the Our Story era. It did take centuries for Mi to fully absorb Ni's powers. It wasn't shocking. Her powers were a bit messy due to Mi having given birth years ago and her Third Eye needed time to adjust to the full power it received from Ni. When Ni was ejected from Mi's body, he was greeted by Arceus and his guardian, Damian. The expulsion from Mi's body meant that Ni was expelled from Damian's body with the plate fusion with Damian. Arceus and Damian were the only ones to see Ni as the plates were busy. Damian wasn't sure who Ni was as this was his first time meeting him. Arceus was confused by the presence of Ni as the male wasn't supposed to alive.

However, Ni was different. He wasn't typeless anymore. The male became tainted due to the presence of Zap. He didn't have the protection Damian and plates had when it came to the virus coursing through the electric plate's veins. His body fed off that energy and morphed into something peculiar: the Fallen Plate. The Fallen Plate was Ni's new title. He was meant to be the new Shadow Plate due to his strong connection with the type. It was a needed type. With the existence of Shadow Pokemon and Gijinka, it was about time that Arceus had a plate that acted as an avatar for the new typing even if a good chunk of the legends aren't a fan of it. Toaaoc [Shadow Type Primal) demanded it. However, at the moment, Ni is sleeping. His body is finishing the last touches of adapting to his new form. However, it seems as if the exposure to certain shadows might be speeding that process up quite a bit.

The question becomes "How in the world will he react to everything he missed in the last Millennium or so?"

Relationships

Damian Scott

929404?1539144217

Host/Master

It's no secret that Ni highly respects Damian. With how caring the male can be of the plates and how he kept him safe during the period he was typeless, it's not surprising that's the case. Unlike the other plates, the male views Damian as his master and does what he can to keep him safe, satisfied, and overall happy.

Mi

1750383?1548356185

Fellow Plate/Sister

Ni loves his sister with all his heart. While he may constantly tease her whenever he can, there's no denying that Ni cares deeply for his twin. He did sacrifice himself to ensure the female can live on in her current form. He is happy to see the female finally embrace the goofiness that goes on with the plates.

Hyde

1750391?1548379544

Fellow Plate

Ni never thought he would see Henry again. Excuse me..Hyde. Seeing Hyde makes Ni happy, especially when it seems like he got his life together. Admittedly, he still harbors feelings for him. He may not be the same guy he knows, but he's still beautiful. That and he is a sucker for those bunny ears.

Titan

1750368?1538324706

Fellow Plate

Ni may not have known Titan for too long, but he had no problem with the giant. While the male doesn't appreciate the plate's constantly holding him and rubbing his head like a puppy, he doesn't have any issues with them. Titan isn't the type to give him a headache and does a good job as serving as a peacemaker.

Gaia

15726227_uTe.png

Fellow Plate

Ni sees Gaia as a mother. With the female being older than him and having raised himself and Mi, it makes sense. The male knows better to be snappy at the female as he is fully aware of how frightening she can be when she's angry. Even he knows better to tick off the Earth Plate. That anger of hers is scary!

Stone

15726232_TDb.png

Fellow Plate

Ni has a pretty neutral relationship with each other. Their relationship is built on the other not bothering the other unless they have to. The two don't have any interest in making their relationship more than what they have. This is due to the two not expressing much of any interest in learning more about the other.

Toxi/Ick

1750388?1540324493

Fellow Plate

Ni doesn't have a preference of the toxic plate he prefers. Honestly, the male likes both Toxi/Ick equally. He loves how childish and spunky Ick can be when it comes to doing the things he loves. He loves how laidback and serious that Toxi can be in comparison to his brother.

Firefly

1750371?1552589969

Fellow Plate

Honestly, Ni likes this version of Flame Plate. Well, besides Flint, but Flint is another story. Firefly is like a kid brother to Ni. Even if his puns make him cringe, the male still can't help but grin at how showy and creative the fiery plate can be. Firefly is a lot more pleasant when compared to his previous counterparts.

Nor

1750379?1567204150

Fellow Plate/Brother-in-law

Ni is still shocked that Mi confessed her feelings to Nor. He honestly thought that the female would never even consider the thought of doing that. Regardless, Ni is fond of Nor. Despite how much of a workaholic he can, Ni appreciates Noir spending time to shower the female with as much love as he can.

Mr. Spooks

1750364?1577152533

Fellow Plate

Ni and Mr. Spooks relationship are built on flirting, teasing, and doing whatever they honestly can to make the other flustered. To them, it's a game. It's been a game for them for centuries. Ni has stated that he had the occasional one night stands with Mr. Spooks before getting in a relationship with Henry.

Dread

15727000_1n7.png

Fellow Plate

Ni is not a fan of Dread. In his defense, it is mostly due to his the canine side of him believing Dread is an evil furball given his (Dread) cat heritage (funny given the nature of Firefly). When the two are out together, they are either getting in argument or engaging in a Tom and Jerry-esque chase scene.

Spooky

15727007_bdI.png

Fellow Plate

Ni doesn't understand what's up with his sister's fear of ghosts. There's nothing scary about them, especially if they're like Spooky! Ni enjoys using Spooky as a means to scare Ni. Seeing her react to the male's presence is always so amusing. Other than that, Ni always saw Spooky as being cool with his powers.

Bruce

1750370?1541700572

Fellow Plate

If you hurt Bruce, Ni is obligated to hurt you. Ni is overly protective of Bruce and will go as far as fighting anyone who hurts the male. In a way, it's similar to his relationship with Damian. The male treats Bruce as his younger brother and is always there for the male whenever he needs him as he does love the younger plate.

Pixel/Pixie

1750384?1550635022

Fellow Plate

Pixel and Ni have a rivalry. The moment they laid eyes on each other after so many years, the two of them knew that this was the case. However, it's a friendly rivalry. While they do talk smack to each other, it's all in good fun. However, the two occasionally try to one-up each other when it comes to impressing Hyde.

Zap

1750389?1539814808

Fellow Plate

Now you would think that Ni will despise Zap given what he did. Turns out that's not the case. Now in Ni's defense, he's not the guy that tends to hold grudges, and he might be a bit bias with Zap being shadow plate. However, Ni often remind Zap he has no problem tearing apart everything he loves if he did that again.

Izzy

1750376?1517035789

Fellow Plate

Ni isn't sure how Mi can interact with Izzy and not be creeped out by the fact she is a Living Hive. Granted, Ni is not a huge fan of bug Pokemon, and he still has nightmares of the damn things in his bed. Ni doesn't have any hard feelings for the female. He just can't deal with anything relating to creepy crawlers.

Mea

1750382?1577152344

Fellow Plate

Ni feels bad about the suffering that Mea had to go through to get where he is. The male doesn't deserve to deal with all of that. However, he's happy to know the male is finally in a spot where he's happy (and not worrying about dying). Ni views Mea as being his elder and often refer to him as such.

Captain Splash

1750387?1518926135

Fellow Plate

Splash got one hell of a glow up. The last Ni seen the male, he was shorter (well he's still short) and much rowdier. Now he's acting like age...somewhat. Regardless, Ni had always been fond of Splash. Splash's pride is such an amusing aspect of Splash since it always guided him to make the decisions he makes.

Lord Samael

1750361?1518926081

Fellow Plate

Samael may be cocky, stubborn and prideful, but Ni can't bring himself to hate him. He's not afraid of showing off who he is regardless of if it annoys others or not. That's something that Ni gotta give the male credit on. When two are together, they are usually training, which is said to get messy.

Skye

1750386?1541180121

Fellow Plate

Skye and Ni don't interact with each other. It's not like they have a specific reason why. The two respect each other as they are one of the few sane plates. Ni admires how the male was able to gain the level of respect that he currently has. Last he seen the male, he was regarded as being the 'useless' plate.

Icy

1750373?1540079935

Fellow Plate

Icy is a cheating shit. It's something that Ni can't help but agree with his sister on. How in the world does this male keep beating him in every single game they play together? Ni knows that Icy is the devil in disguise. Hell, if you know the plates, people are fully away how conniving and smug the male can be.

Armend

2942060?1571515766

Niece

It always surprises Ni that he has a niece. He wasn't aware that plates were fully capable of having children with each other. Regardless, Ni cares about Armend. While he may not understand the meme she spews and the devices she uses, Armend is such a special, little tablet in his eyes.

Arceus

10618979_4dB.png?1553148264

Creator

Ni looks up to Arceus as a father and a teacher. He doesn't want to disappoint him since he hates the idea of failing him even if he knows that Arceus only cares about the plate's safety. He holds a fear of Arceus being disgusted by the fact that he's a shadow despite the male constantly telling otherwise.
