Sam came from a small city-town and had a very sad past. She was almost of age when she was sold to the government so that they could run some tests on her and a few other kids. Taken away in the middle of the night she left her family and friends and was placed in a ward for children. She had to wear hospital robes throughout her “stay” and sat around wondering what was going to happen to her. They hadn’t touched her ever since she had gotten to the facility, but one day she had gotten into a fight. She had lost the fight and was found bleeding out in the shower. The doctors decided that maybe she would need to protect herself so they decided to place her in a chamber that changed the DNA of the person inside. They had decided to make her have the abilities of a cat so took a hair from a snow leopard and placed it on a saucer. They soon had gotten distracted and another doctor placed the feather of a snowy owl on the saucer without realizing it. They placed it into the chamber compartment and soon realized that there was a problem. They saw that the chamber had taken two animal DNA and one human DNA and could malfunction causing the death of the person inside. No matter what they did they couldn’t stop the transaction and had to watch and listen as Samantha screamed and cried out for help. The machine finally stopped what it was doing and let her out and she tumbled to the floor. Nothing had changed from her body. They ran tests on her DNA as well, but nothing seemed to have changed even then. They decided that she was either faulty or the machine hadn’t done anything because of the two strands of DNA. They placed her back into the ward like nothing had happened and never noticed anything different about her over the next few weeks of watching her. Once they stopped watching her something began to happen. She once again was being bullied and beat up by the ward tormentor until finally one day in the showers. After being beaten that many times and having her entire life full of distrust and depression she grew angry. Finally, Samantha took control of herself and exploded. Well, not literally, but it was a large light that exploded off of her and threw her tormentors off of her. Her eyesight grew sharper and she suddenly felt searing pain along her spine. She turned around to see large snowy-white wings and a white leopard-like tail protruding from her back. She looked at the wet floor and had seen cat ears. She was shocked at first, but definitely not as shocked as everyone else. Her tormentors left her alone and the doctors decided to test on her more than any of the other people around. Many long tests later she was helped and was able to break free from her prison. Her wings had been clipped so she couldn’t fly, but she was able to hide her mutations in hoodies and pull her wings into her body. Once she escaped she made sure to go undercover for many months before she finally decided it was safe enough to come back into the open. She had wandered around the country and collected money from the streets she walked along. Once in a while, she stayed in the same place for a while to collect money with a part-time job. She would babysit sometimes and help walk and pet sit as well. She earned enough money for food, but she could never stay in the same place. She came up with lie after lie of why no one had seen her and the main one that stuck to her was “I never really go outside because I have to take care of my baby brother.” Once in a while, the family catches on to her lies and either throw her out, well she pretty much runs before they throw her out, or keep her there until she has to leave. Some families understood her struggles so she decided to keep their contact information for emergencies.

Finally, she had reached her old hometown and decided to visit her friends. Though it was only at night so that she couldn’t get caught. She soon realized that her friends would get hurt or in trouble so she left a note for each one, but when she went to her closest friend they had been outside. They were shocked to see her and pushed her away as much as possible. She was shocked that because she was in trouble her closest friend had decided that it wasn’t their problem. She quickly ran away before her friend had called the police and sat next to a small stream in the woods. She looked at the letter and as she cried she ripped it up, officially closing herself off to her old friends. After she tore herself away from her old friends she decided she would have to change her name as well. In order for no one to recognize her by her name, she decided to change it. She wouldn’t be able to do it legally, but she would use her other name until she could use her real name. She had decided to change it to Lumi Sommer and the only reasoning behind it was because it meant “snowy animal” and she felt that it fit well with what she was. She had then kept going on her escape and never looked back though she did grow very lonely on her own. Many months on her lonely road led her to a group of people fighting against those who would take people and change them. They fought against what happened to her without them realizing and fought for people like her who had been experimented on. They called themselves the FFT which also meant "Fighting For Truth" but they thought it was better if they just used the acronym for their name. She hid her experimented body from them, but joined their ranks, rising quickly and almost to the top. Months passed when she met a resistance hacker named Nathaniel Einstein. She grew fond of him and they became extremely close. Though she still kept her guard up with her experimented body she soon found herself falling in love with the Nathaniel and she knew she wouldn't be able to keep her ecret for long. One day the resistance found out about her experience and she felt that they would throw her away, but instead they took her in and seemed to become more protective of her and also allowed her to help out with planning raids and constructing maps of the facility she had been in. And after a few months after her secret came out, Nathaniel and Lumi became an official couple and she may or may not have gotten him out of trouble and placed him in safety many times.

When Sam was a little girl she had been both physically and emotionally abused by her parents. She lived through many horrors that a child should never have witnessed. She grew up with many difficulties and had problems throughout her growing up. She had been raped at the age of 10 and had been physically hit by her father. Her mother was always there to stop him when it got too bad, but it never stopped her from being traumatized. She suffered from PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety and still seemed like a very happy child. She always smiled and helped others who needed it and as she got older her parents fighting got worse. Soon after she watched as her mother finally threw out her dad and had decided to divorce him. She never saw him again and hoped she never had to either. She lived with her mother and soon realized that she had been feeling unwell so Sam had to find a job to help pay for medicine in order to keep her mom alive. Sam grew up with a lot more stress than other kids in her age group and still was able to be happy, but soon that started to fade away. She began to become more of an introvert and began to read more than she had in her younger years. She learned much more and much faster than others and was able to earn more money. She is a kind person who would never hurt anyone unless she had to so when she got in a fight she was confused about what happened after that. She had seen her best friend being picked on and knew immediately that she had to help. She got into a fight and the school called each student’s parent. Her mom couldn’t make it but was on the phone on a conference call and soon she hung up after hearing what had happened. Sam had been dreading what was going to happen once she got home, so she went to her job until it had ended around 10:00, and as she walked up to her house she was grabbed and sedated, dragged into a van and sent off to the experimental ward connected to the government. She remembered hearing her mother open the door as she tried crying out and say, “I have no use for a troublesome child in my home” and she had quickly shut the door after being handed a large-sized briefcase. Sam grew distant and learned to only rely on herself after the many times she was disappointed and turned against. She was never the same after she was sold to the government by her own family. If some people were able to see her closer they would see a broken child in need of love, but quickly a mask falls over her vulnerability. She doesn’t like to show people how she truly feels as she believes that that would be annoying and bothersome towards everyone.
