the truth of the matter that he is ashamed to speak on is that he has been cursed by this enchanted armor he stole when in his (defeated) kingdom's army, some hundred years ago.
though he knows he was once human, he can never take his thefted pieces off, with it has come immortality-- all in all his existence is now a daily, shaming reminder of his greediness.
because of his time spent in a purgatory of his own making, he has spent a few centuries companionless and isn't quite sure if he can still talk. around others he can be distant, easy to fret over since he isn't responsive physically, either

and btw i'm lazy as shit so it's definitely not required to get the armor right every time if you wanna draw him. just whatever works.
