Gargoyle was an ordinary grem, living in the shadows of a bustling city dominated by the presence of a powerful mafia organization.

One night, Gargoyle stumbled upon information that could expose the mafia's criminal activities. Fueled by a desire for justice, he made the difficult decision to reveal the truth to the police.

The mafia boss, furious at the failed heist, immediately ordered Gargoyle to be captured and brought before him. In a sadistic display, the man ordered for the grem to be held down and force-fed liquid gold, a cruel and twisted play on the phrase "Silence Is Golden." The molten gold, symbolizing the mafia's desire to extinguish his voice, left a lasting mark on Gargoyle, both physically and metaphorically.

The men disposed of the grem's body by encasing him in cement so that nobody would ever find him.

However a transformation had taken place and Gargoyle would emerge from his cement tomb, his skin and flesh now as hard as stone. His blood ran like molten gold, a testament to his tragic past and newfound power. These new abilities served as a reminder of the price he paid for exposing the truth of the mafia.

Although most of his memories had faded upon becoming a Cypherus, a deep-rooted sense of justice and a disdain for evildoers remained ingrained within him. It was during this time that Gargoyle encountered S.C.Y.T.H.E, an organization that recognized his potential for good. Drawn to their promise of guidance and support in harnessing his powers, Gargoyle embraced their assistance, embarking on a journey to wield his unique abilities in the service of justice and righteousness.
