Profile
the archivist is an entity that has resided in the hotel for as long as he can remember. his rooms have a random chance of occurring, though are much more common on floors 50+. these rooms are entirely non-threatening, and no hostile creatures may spawn within them. they resemble a rather grand library, fitting to the person who cares for them. the only entities that can ever reside here are the archivist himself and the lizard-like gargoyles that peruse the area, entirely docile. all the archivist asks for during your time here is the proper arrangement of his grand collection! perhaps, you'll be rewarded for your time.
the archivist has taken on the name "aurelius", one that he grew fond of from a story of his! though nobody really recalls him by it. likely due to the fact that not many make it to his room to begin with..
while aurelius takes on a rather intimidating stature, it's made clear very soon that he serves no threat to anyone perusing the hotel. though he will refuse to let anyone exit his rooms without completing his task, it's obvious he has no true intentions of bringing harm to hotel-goers. he prefers a rather formal attitude, though it's quickly broken down by a rather meek demeanor when faced with questions that he simply can't answer. aurelius has no real power in the hotel after all, only on the rooms that he calls his own.
though his official title is the archivist, he's often regarded as a caregiver due to the affectionate nature he holds for the gargoyle-like entities that trail him and his refusal to bring true harm to hotel-goers. he can't argue much against the title, he doesn't have it in him.

- The Archivist doesn't have a traditional head. His expressions and any emotive behavior comes from the book that hovers above where his neck would be. On a similar note, his voice emanates from the same tome.
- His cape is adorned with golden accents and clips to his left shoulder through a crown-shaped pin.
- The tome that carries his expression and vocals can be removed from it's spot hovering above his head. He can move it wherever he'd like.
