Named after the constellation Serpens

Personality: Sly, cunning, charismatic, good at bartering, also good at stealing things because he's so nimble. He's also very resourceful with money and articulate with what he wants. He's sort of an antihero in story-lines/RPs. Is also fashionable with the ladies due to his suave nature. Often times takes advantage of this to steal jewelry from them. Strangely, he knows he's a scumbag because of the tricks he plays, but his morals have long been gone for a while now.

Biography: Serpentes comes from a very hot and dry desert known as the Dread Wastes, located in an unknown fantasy-like land. His family was a band of traveling merchants, going places no others would dare to go just to sell whatever they had. Their livelihood wasn't the most ideal, but it's what worked for them. As a young boy, Serpentes was trained by his uncle to use weapons of all kinds, but his favorite was using the bow and arrow. The two were close to each other, the uncle telling stories by the campfire under a starry night and Serpentes putting his skills he learned to the test against his uncle. The large family was inseparable because of their tight bond, but it was on a dusty day that that would change forever. 

A sandstorm rolled into the desert where the family was staying, and while they had seen their fair share of sandstorms and knew what to do, this one was more vicious than any other. Debris was flying in from random places, knocking over the merchandise and even sweeping away some family members. Scared and helpless, Serpentes didn't know what he could do to stop the sandstorm besides brace for the end. While the storm had only lasted about 20 minutes, it wreaked havoc on his family and left Serpentes alone in the vastness of the desert.

Ultimately afraid and alone, young Serpentes tried desperately to find his family members, praying that he wouldn't find any of them buried under the sand. But while he didn't find bodies along the way, he did find the bow that his uncle gave him. He took it and somehow managed to find his way to a neighboring town, living his life in solitude and having given up hope on finding his family. 

Fast forward to when Serpentes is older: he's honed his skills as not only an archer, but also a skilled thief and dagger-wielder. He's made several connections over the years, building up his charisma as he went and also from remembering how his family talked to customers. While he no longer wants to think about them/move on with his life, he now goes to a life of crime and mischievousness, working with various merchants to sell whatever he stole and split the profits. That's the only time he ever works with anyone, other than requesting back-up, because of his belief that if he could have survived all these years alone, he can keep doing it. 

Morals: 
- If I can take it, it's mine now.
- I only do what I do to make a living for myself.
- If no one's looking, I can get away with it.
- I work alone. If I've been doing it my whole life, why stop now?
