CW: Natural Disaster, Kaiju Battle

Astor was once one of many, many meltan that lived in meltown. Meltdown was a harmonious place, albeit somewhat old fashioned and cut off from much of the world. But their seclusion also meant that sometimes, in the wake of natural disasters or tragic world events, the tiny town was often forgotten about, and left to its own devices. The meltan otherwise lived harmoniously, cooperating in their secluded, self-sustaining town. Everyone knew one another by name, and had their whole lives, and strangers or visitors were cause for much ado. It made for a very close knit community. So, one day, when the skies went dark and the seas grew stormy, the people of Meltown gathered to fortify their home against the coming storm. What they weren’t prepared for was the sudden attack of a Gigantamaxed Grimmsnarl! Being that Meltown was primarily a farming and mining town, hardly any of the meltan were trained for combat, and so calamity fell across Iron Island as the enraged Grimmsnarl attacked, seemingly driven to rage by something unseeable, eyes glowing red.

As the people of Meltown scrambled for defense, one meltan had come up with a bold, desperate plan. One he wasn’t even sure would work. Astor was one of the most fit among the meltan youths, and as such felt it was his responsibility to be at the forefront of the efforts to repel the attacker. So he hurriedly ran through Meltown, quickly collecting and absorbing any and all metal he could to add to his power. What he didn’t realize was that, after a point, he had absorbed more metal than a normal meltan could contain - thus sparking his evolution into Melmetal. With a borrowed power, the newly formed melmetal gigantamaxed to take on their attacker. After a long battle, the grimmsnarl was repelled. Wounded and tired, Astor was quickly taken to heal by the townsfolk, who hailed him as a hero.

Feeling that he was obligated to utilize his new form for the sake of good, Astor decided to leave Iron Island to apply himself as a rescuer - with the intent to immediately return to defend his home town should danger ever arise there again. He takes his role as the hero of his town very seriously. However, he has yet to adjust to living in his new form, as these events were very recent.
