Some things to note about the universe: character designs in Sonari each stick to a small color set per individual. That means that skin tones, hair and eye colors are often really unnatural compared to our world. Clothing and items will also CHANGE COLOR to the individuals wearing or using them in most (but not all) cases. Everyone has a main color (for Vox, blue) and a sub color (green here) and then several adjacent hues. The amount of a sub color in a design varies, with some characters displaying a lot, and others only having it appear in their eyes most of the time.

Colors are an important part of story telling in Sonari, especially saturated colors vs grayscale (or de-saturated) colors. The difference can reflect a lot about a character's mood or physical and mental health, and faded out colors often indicate something is wrong for the majority of the population (though there are rare individuals who do not naturally have colorful features).

Also of note is that sound based weapons are commonly used in Sonari. The right equipment can help users generate a variety of attacks including: plasma waves which may burn targets, concussive force attacks used to move or knock down obstacles, and element attacks which happen specifically with music based combat. Elements are individual abilities that may occur when using musical weapons-- normal instruments do not generate any type of attack. These may be anything from fire and water, to more specific abilities such as blades of energy or even defensive barriers.

About the boy himself:

Vox is an advanced android who has spent a number of years in Oleysium as a personal body guard to the City-State's leader, William Tumult. Little is known about Vox himself other than vague rumors and observation, but it is well known that he is connected to the military drone network in Oleysium, which allows him to reroute patrols and emergency resources when necessary. Depending on what side of the law you find yourself on, this could be very good or very bad.

He's been observed fighting with rebel factions that have popped up in opposition to Oleysium's dictator, as well as being sent to deal with all manner of illegal operations, although he is not typically dispatched to deal with petty crime unless he happens to be on the scene already. The autonomous drones working around him handle the majority of most daily legal issues and threats on all levels of the floating city. Vox is most often on the top layer nearest to Tumult's own home and base of operations. He seems generally solitary, although he is sometimes accompanied by a civilian class drone who does all of the talking for him. Vox's faded colors and eared helmet design have him dubbed locally as "The Mechanical Arrachen" and variations of-- although plenty of folks think he has more in common with the old mythology than just a few design choices.

Ideas about Vox's origins vary wildly, some claiming Tumult built him, others claiming Tumult stole or discovered him. Most believe he's a more advanced drone, but others say he is fully sentient and near identical to a human. It's not public knowledge what's under the helmet, or if it can even be removed, although some claim to have seen glowing eyes beneath the visor. Likewise there is just as much story telling about his voice or lack thereof. Another source of wild speculation is his relationship to Tumult, if he's involved deeply in the planning and operation of the City's functions, or if he's treated no differently than the countless other drones that run people's lives. Either way he's known to be dangerous and ruthless in his handling of threats to Oleysium and its people.

More recently, Vox has been seen often spending time with a brightly colored visitor to the city, only raising more questions and creating more stories about Oleysium's public mystery.
