Kennith Albrecht

“That’s fine, I know others find me a little weird too. But I don’t mind, it’s not like their opinion on me really matters as long as I’m having fun and not hurting anyone. Don’t you think that’s reasonable?”

A young boy with an artistic mind, Kennith is regarded as mature and cultured for someone his age. Raised in the middle of arts and luxury, he speaks in a refined and extravagant manner that sometimes comes off as arrogant to people, leading them to think Kennith is looking down on them. Although Kennith does have a certain sense of pride for his upbringing, interests and even looks, he mostly just wishes people would participate into discussions and read poems with him. Despite how strange he can come across, Kennith has a gentle and somewhat meek disposition, making it easy to become his friend if you can just get behind his ideology and sense of aesthetic. He enjoys mature and respectful discussions, but as his interests tend to clash rather strongly with other boys his age, it's rare for Kennith to have these sort of conversations.

Kennith often acts older than his age and people easily forget he is only a first year, but he does have an immature side to him as well: he has not been blessed with the best kind of attention span when it comes to things that aren't related to his special interests, and can be very impatient and demanding at times. He also fancies himself as even more mature than he actually is, sometimes attempting to get special rights with his maturity as his excuse, ironically only further showing he is still a child. His worldview is also very idealized and childishly naive, and Kennith tends to turn his head away from everything wrong and ugly in the world to protect his harmonious but falsely built sense of aesthetic.

Kennith is part of Claude's inner circle of associates and quite admired for his looks despite his eccentric nature. 

Appearance

Kennith is a young boy of fairly light build, with narrow bones and lithe, a tad lanky body. Despite being relatively short, he has long arm, legs and upper body, and so he comes across as taller when in photos or viewed from afar.  

He has a brown skin tone with brown, somewhat curly hair and blue, droopy eyes with thick eyelashes. His eyebrows are somewhat large and darker brown than his hair is, and he has a mole under his left eye. His head is angular with a somewhat sharp chin, and he has a small nose and small, full lips, giving him a somewhat feminine look especially when combined with his fey build.

Due to his droopy eyes and a meek personality, Kennith often comes across as melancholic looking for other people, and he doesn't smile often, even when he is happy. His fashion sense is often eccentric and he tends to get cold easily, wearing sweaters over his uniform and also using the winter uniform jacket once in a while. He is almost always seen wearing a flower crown of some sort on his hair, and during wintertime he makes them out of flexible willow branches.

Personality

Kennith is a well-behaved boy who is rare to see angry or upset, even if he does have a somewhat melancholic exterior. He is very artistic and cultured and enjoys discussions regarding the topics, genuinely delighting in bonding over shared interests and arguing about differences in opinions. He is good at making reasonable and well-explained arguments and generally has a lot of tack in his discussions, making him very loved by adults, but in turn making his peers feel unsure how to approach him. As Kennith's way of behaving is not particularly typical for a boy his age, especially other boys often don't know how to talk to him - their worlds seem so very different, and not only because Kennith comes from a well-off family. 

Soft spoken and gentle, Kennith's overall personality is often thought to be more appropriate for a girl rather than a boy of his age, but this doesn't seem to bother him: if he can't find any fault in himself or think he is doing anyone any harm, Kennith is extremely hesitant to change himself just to please others. If anything, being complained about his feminine personality or the things he does only makes him even more adamant in doing them! 

Kennith can be tad naive at times, but despite this he isn't very trusting of others: he is kind to everyone by default, but it's surprisingly hard to find the same wavelength with Kennith. To further emphasize this, Kennith usually doesn't converse with others casually, instead expecting to have meaningful conversations and thus making people feel intimidated. However, he doesn't do this intentionally and isn't even fully aware of just how hard he makes it for others to really know him. Kennith doesn't usually hold grudges or remember things done wrong to him, making him rather vulnerable and easy to fall into the wrong crowds if he isn't careful. But while he is often naive and too kind for his own good, there are limits even to his kindness and generosity - it just takes time for people to reach his limits.

Kennith is very idealistic, perhaps overly so, and he lives so strongly for his aesthetic and dreams that the real world can sometimes seem very overwhelming, and so he buries himself into fiction: he loves fantastical tales of fairies and unicorns, dragons and knights, and often even assigns fairy tale -like roles to the people he knows. He is afraid of growing up, fearing the sense of wonder and mystery towards the world around him will be stripped away and denied from him. As such he doesn't actually want to be an adult just yet, trying to enjoy the little time he has left of being a child and having his own adventures free of most worries of adults.

While generally extremely well-behaved and polite, Kennith does sometimes think a little too highly of himself and can unintentionally come across as arrogant and even intimidating. Kennith is also very aware other people find him mature and precocious, which is why he might sometimes try to get special privileges with this, such as thinking he is allowed to get an access to things meant for older boys because he is "already mature enough". It's seemingly in conflict with his desire not to become an adult just yet, but Kennith sees himself as somewhere between a child and an adult; free to imagine and dream, but capable of stepping into the world of adults as a visitor if needed. 

History

Kennith is the only child of a well-off family consisting of a teacher mother and an art collector and seller father. Because of the professions of his parents, Kennith was born in the middle of arts and culture, and gained an interest and affinity for them very early on. As the boy was always interested in learning and consuming more and more information, his mother would teach him things beyond what was expected of children of Kennith's age.  With his father Kennith would learn names of painters and their works, even learning to recognize a fabricate painting from an original.

Kennith ended up having a strong sense of who he is and what he likes and found it difficult to pay attention to things he in turn didn't like, causing him trouble with some school subjects while excelling others. This wasn't much of a problem though as his parents started grooming him to continue his father's job, knowing the trade was far more important than wasting time and resources on things Kennith wouldn't need in the future.

However, despite his parent's wishes, Kennith himself would rather become a writer or a poet: as much as he loves art, he isn't particularly good at negotiating deals or talking people into buying things. Likewise he understands he lacks the strong personally crucial for those who sell for their living.

As an only child Kennith would spend majority of his free time reading or writing, as he showed no interest in things like music, which usually was a to-go activity for noble children. His eccentricity and maturity made it hard for other children his age to really connect with him, and his skin colour would further make him feel like an odd one out in an environment where other noble children were white. However, Kennith never really cared about the opinions of other people, being very independent since young age, but did have a couple of friends from more common families.

Upon arriving to Lottenberg academy he had something akin to a puppy crush on Claude, but very soon understood he had no chance with the boy who only seemed to treat others as his playthings. However, Kennith deeply admires Claude not only for his beauty but for the strength of his character, something Kennith knows he himself lacks. Although Kennith is regarded as something of a weirdo at his school, he is likewise acknowledged to have a rare beauty rivaling that of Claude's.
