The lead guitarist and backing vocalist for Strangeh8, an up-and-coming goth-punk band. A tough but sweet individual with fairy blood running through her veins, Dree is both the hurricane and its eye, a force to be reckoned with, with a surprising calm, and never quite what you'd expect.

An auto technician by day, Dree has a love of all things mechanical and never backs down from a challenge. Coming from a line of passionate people, Dree pours her all into everything she does, whether it be her work or her music. Despite this, she still secretly yearns to find a direction for herself in lift, though she would never admit it.

Though always ready to give her all to help others, Dree's tough exterior often makes it difficult for others to come close, which only adds to her mystique, and the imposing figure she cuts on stage. Only those closest to her truly know the woman who lies behind the steady gaze, and the soft soulfulness that is dying to come pouring out.

On the outside, Dree is tough and uncompromising, with a constant attitude. She is curt and blunt, with little to say but happy to speak her mind when she cares to. She is intimidating, someone who few would wish to start an argument with, but the is much more the sort to finish a fight than to instigate one, so as long as she remains unprovoked, she is relatively harmless.

On stage, Dree is imposing and electrifying, effortlessly calling attention to herself with her performances, at times even on par with Slice, the band's frontman, in grabbing attention, though she never goes out of her way to do so. It is this demeanor that has earned her many admirers, both to mild embarassment and joy.

Beneath the surface, however, for all of her brusqueness, the real Dree is quiet, gentle, and thoughtful, the few words that she speaks hardly a testament to the rich inner world that lurks inside. But it is a lucky few indeed who will ever experience this side of her...

There are a lot of things expected of you when you grow up as a twin, even more so when you grow up in a home filled superstition, spirituality, and story. One of a pair of fraternal twins, Xandri was by no means ever cut from the same cloth as her sibling, Vivaldi, a shy and shirking foil to Xandri's bold rebellion. Their parents, a politically active but progressive duo, thought the birth of their children a fortuitous omen, but always stressed that the two be whoever they wished to be - which their daughter took advantage of early in insisting never to be referred to by her full name.

In their early days at school (a transition not made easy from an early start in homeschooling), Dree found trouble not from the fact that she displayed traits of their family's weak fae lineage while her sibling did not, but because of the various activities of her parents, who traveled frequently to religious summits and activist conferences, and seemed to have no concept of the embarassment their children might feel when they visited to the school to share their knowledge with the community. roping in their children whenver possible to share in this.

Determined to forge an identity for herself that was as far as possible from the world of her parents, Dree began to delve into athletics, and industrial pursuits, finding she had an interest and budding aptitude for anything mechanical. Though she expected and perhaps even hoped that this might cause tension in her home, however, she found that her parents were true to their word as ever, and we delighted that she had found hobbies that she took to so well. Though begrudged that her plan to set herself apart had partially failed, Dree continued on, finding new sets of friends, and a space she could happily exist in outside of her family's world.

Though Dree and her twin had always grown up around plenty of music, it was not until around high school that Dree took anything of a serious interest in it, finding that her marginal skill with the guitar earned her a surprising amount of attention from the other girls - a fact that was suddenly becoming far more compelling to her than ever before in her life, and Dree threw herself in wholeheartedly, her talent growing swiftly with every passionate hour she spent growing calluses on already callused fingers. She found even more circles that welcomed her, and was rewarded with a series of fleeting and juvenile romances, heartbreak that both hardened her and helped her grow - even if she would find that the learning process is always an ongoing one.

It was through just such circles that Dree made one particular friend - a young vampire, a freshman, new to Dree's school and not long out of a stint in a juvenile detention center. Despite a rough set of first impressions, the two grew close, closer still when this boy, Slice, discovered that he had a passion for music as well, perhaps in no small part thanks to Dree. This friendship was solidified when Slice, finding himself without his family's support, came to live in the home of the Collens for a time, Dree's parents never ones to turn away someone in need. Though the two had plenty of disagreements, their shared passion kept them bound, even through briefly joining the short-lived bands their other friends formed, and ultimately, their own.

Having Dree and Slice at the center of everything was apparently the magic that the fledgeling band needed, and from there they began to grow, recruiting a drummer and going through a bassist or two until the line-up settled into what it is today. While Slice dreams of a far-off fame, however, Dree is quietly uncertain about where she sees herself, far down the road, but is happy to keep living as she is now, making good money at an auto shop by day, and tearing up underground stages by night. She has good friends, and good family, and despite the ups and downs everyone faces, the skies above her are mostly clear. All she can hope for is that clarity to keep on pushing until she can find her way to whatever path lies next.

Trivia

Though her fraternal twin was born with no outward traits of their distant fae heritage, Dree can be categorized as 'fae-touched,' a trait primarily identified by the unusual colour of her eyes.

Commonly for those with fae blood, Dree was born intersex. She has always identified as female, however, and does not consider herself to be trans, but has no problem with the label.

Can't stand her given first name, using it only for legal purposes.

Respects and tolerates cats but generally does not like or find them cute, due to an instinctual distrust between cats and fae.

Due to her fae metabolism, she rarely gains much, if any weight. However it is difficult to eat very much in the first place, and she tends to avoid more processed foods.

Tans very easily in summer and fades just as quickly in winter. She has been told this is attributed to her fae traits, how some fae lines tend to morph with the seasons, but she sometimes wonders whether it's really that in-depth.

Her personal favourite band to listen to is a punk band called Cherry Nutz, who Slice finds too cheesy even for his eclectic tastes (though he'll admit that some of their songs aren't so bad).

Picking up chicks wasn't necessarily the only reason she got serious about guitar in high school, but it certainly didn't hurt.

Once, in her youth, appeared on local television alongside Vev in a story concerning an organization their parents are a part of. She doesn't like to talk about it.

Description

The definition of tall, dark, and handsome, Dree cuts an imposing form in any room she enters. With a sharp but slender silhouette bolstered by a lifetime of athletics, Dree possesses a strength one would not initially expect. She wears her hair long, disliking haircuts and finding them unhelpful with how quickly her hair grows back, with an occasional bleach or highlight for interest, but otherwise natural.

Dree's sense of fashion would best be described as casual punk, tending to dark colors and patterns and clothing with logos and bold designs, most comfortable in a more masculine-leaning style, though she is unapposed to a gown when she find one that fits her sharp build. When performing, she tends toward dark dress shirts and ties.
