A necromancer and medium, Hawthorne traveled up and down the Allerian Union, offering his services to the recently-deceased and tending to ghosts after battles, allowing the dead to give final wills and goodbyes. When work slowed, the bones of the dead could be crushed into herbal salves - and sold for a small profit, letting him upkeep his small caravan and feed his dragonids. Though a simple and small life, he was wholly satisfied with it, and notched many repetitive years under his belt.
Color his surprise, then, when he discovered a lost bureaucrat - Paidde, hailing from the Allerian territory of Soma - who had become separated from his escort. Hawthorne offered up a position in the caravan in return for Paidde cooking meals and doing other menial tasks as they travelled north to return him to Soma... but then bumped into Vyvnne, a Lacrayan Flame clearly in over his head with the war of Bivve. Claiming to seek to make a record of Allerian history, Hawthorne begrudgingly allowed him to join the caravan to record his trip... and then had to allow Champion, a disgraced Allerian officer, to join as well - as he sought to protect Vyvnne.
Though he doesn't truly mind the company, Hawthorne finds it difficult to accept just how quickly his private little caravan filled up.
