From a young age, Newlin has been independent and quiet. Forever off to the side watching what is going on, she prefers to judge the situation before getting involved. It was an easy way of life when she lived out west with her family, raising horses for rodeo competitions and racing. It was this life that she found easy and unsurprising. A day's worth of hard work and then the rest of the afternoon was her's for reading and daydreaming. That was the way, at least until Newlin was 15 and she had to flee with Greer in the middle of the night for reasons she is still unsure of.

For the last 5 years Newlin has been traveling around with Greer leading the way as they drift from city to city. It's only the two of them now, and they are as close as any pair of siblings you'll ever meet. Where Newlin is quiet and watchful, Greer gets in the fray and will talk your ear off. She appreciates that Greer will take the attention away anyone that Newlin isn't interested in. Unless you're a good book, your chances are slim anyway. Once you get to know her though, Newlin will open up to you and show that she's actually a fun girl who loves new experiences, snarky comebacks, and anything that'll keep her out all night to see that sunrise.

Her only tie to her past in the west is the cowboy had that Greer let her keep. Everything else was left behind or burned.
