• He is a few centuries old and likely saw or even knew one of the last mhoats to be added to the mhoat pantheon, as a result, he hides from the world and tries to appear unassuming when he interacts with others. He is often seen as a stranger or a mysterious figure that is just as easily forgotten or spoken of in vague details. A lonely life, but one he is content with if it means he doesn't form any notoriety, he doesn't wish to be attached to his magic feats and become deified like those mhoats of the past.
• Travels across the islands seek out locations where wild magic has run rampant and mutated the small creatures living there into strange beasts. He contains these creatures by creating barriers channeled through a chain of black silk stars created from his own goo to act as a means to keep the creature within the boundary while also warding other mhoats away from those areas. Most mhoats that travel the deep recesses of the islands know these black stars mark the outer boundaries of dangerous locations, but since Alder does his work in secret, not many know how or when these boundaries were created. Those bold enough to cross these barriers aren't seen again, thought to have been taken by whatever lurks in these places of malaise.
• Over the centuries he has maintained a passive acquaintance with Eos who he sees on occasion during his travels. Their relationship is simple recognition, they have yet to make any attempt at significant interaction over all this time.
