Reggie Byko

An exorcist raised by a Sin.
An exorcist raised as a werewolf.

Reggie was raised in an orphanage for several years when he came across a man. This man was lazy and rude, not someone he was interested in, and the feeling was mutual. Then, one day, the orphanage got attacked. It wasn't a robber or a criminal on the run, it wasn't even human. It was werewolf with fangs longer than the kitchen knives, and claws that scraped the ground with every step. Reggie tried to fight it off to protect everyone, but was hurt badly. 

When he thought it was over for everyone, the lazy man from earlier returned.
That man displayed unnatural powers, ones that even overwhelmed the werewolf and defeated it with ease.
Grateful as everyone was, Reggie was still badly hurt. And infected. So soon and already he had been showing signs that he'd be like the monster too. Although heavily reluctant, the lazy man offered to take the boy under his wing. Reggie mirrored the reluctance, but knew that if he stayed he might harm those at the orphanage, and thus agreed.

The man introduced himself as Nikolai. Just Nikolai. He didn't want to be called "dad" or, as he said, "anything disgusting like that". He wasn't around often and left all the cooking and cleaning to Reggie, lucky him. When he was around he would help teach him how to control what he could of his curse. As Reggie grew older, though, he wanted more power, enough to be able to protect people like at the orphanage.
He decided on working for the Church, getting holy weapons in exchange for being their dedicated hunter.

Notes: Reggie is another old, old character of mine that I'm happy to bring back! He was originally just a human orphan adopted by Nikolai that became a priest to be able to fight against monsters without having to get powers at the risk of his own life. I was gifted this adopt and felt like priest wasn't exactly this Reggie's route. I feel like this story it makes a little more sense, being an orphan that couldn't stay but wanted more power. There may be edits in the future!

Personality: Reggie is stoic and serious to the point of being a grouch. He's the kind of guy that would yell at you for breaking the rules. He gets frustrated easily and with it comes a lot of passive aggressiveness. Because of his curse he keeps people at an arm's length, emotionally and physically.
However, he laughs pretty easily, and if you can get him to laugh hard then he won't be able to stop for a while. But his straight expression will return almost immediately when he's done laughing.

Non-Human Abilities:
- Heightened Senses - His five senses are boosted from his curse.
- Calling the Curse - He partially control his curse by summoning its powers. His pupils with thin, his fangs and claws will grow as sharp as blades, and his strength and speed will increase.
- Werewolf Curse - During a full moon he'll be forced into his wolf form, anthropomorphic and powerful. Only rarely has he been able to control it. It goes away as soon as dawn breaks. There have been instances of this form coming out not during full moons, though. Reggie doesn't know what caused each occasion.

Weapons:
- Holy Water - He carries three bottles of holy water that can bless his weapons or even himself.
- Chains of Forgiveness - A heavy chain that he fights with. Can work as a slow whip for ranged attacks, though he'll usually wrap it around his hands to strengthen his punches, or pull someone in for close ranged attacks.
- Crucifix - Holding it alone can be strong enough against lesser monsters. It also is proof that he's a member of the Church.
- Gun - A standard handgun issued by the Church. There's cross filigree at the side and the grip, the bullets are blessed. They only harm demons and monsters. Firing at an innocent person will act like firing blanks.

Drawing Details: Most important is the scar on his right cheek and the ring on his right middle finger. He typically has a gruff expression. Outfit is any modern wear.

Fun/Extra Facts:

- He is absolutely the kind that will turn to glare at you dead in the eyes if you're whispering or talking during a movie.

- Loves to listen to podcasts and youtube reviews over movies.

- The best at laundry. Gets them nice and soft and is great and folding them.

- Great at packing luggage too. Yells at people that they pack wrong.

- Will yell at you about something then go, "Never mind, let me do it."

- He visits the orphanage he was raised in every other month and donates a lot.

- The Church treats him like trash because of his curse. He suspects more, but ultimately doesn't care as long as they give him weapons and money.

- He has gotten protective over his adoptive father, Nikolai, and little brother, Aysun.

- Likes comic books.

- If you're being a menace to be funny he won't laugh, but if you tell him a good joke he'll laugh. Loud, too.

- Dogs are hesitant around him because they can smell his curse.

- The scar on his face is from the monster when he was a kid. He also has a scar on his left shoulder from when he was bitten.
