Background

Antisocial and forever questioning the other deities motives, Corrie was unofficially banished from their group and spent her days either in or around bodies of water. It was common for her to travel to distant towns and villages out of curiosity.

In one such town she found a gang of sorts and, out of pure interest, she joined it. Soon she was running errands, watching brawls and taking part in raids and fights. In one such fight she met... Someone.

Whoever it was she met hurt her, she remembers that much. In the middle of a small plaza she let all that hurt out until nothing was left. And with that nothing came a dispair she couldn't stand, and she begged the gods to end it.

Instead, they turned her to stone right there in the plaza. For months, years she stood, townsfolk coming to admire and offer prayers to the lost goddess. But soon enough, they forgot and moved on.

She was thrown into the ocean when the town was rebuilt, and there her statue stayed for hundreds of years.

Until a diver found her.

One Pwyll Smithers, a hobbyist free diver, dove down to explore the depths near his home town. There were statues, stones, ropes and rubbish. His foot caught in a rope while he was down there, and in a panic he touched Corrie's statue. He would have drowned if she hadn't pulled him to the surface.

Now in a modern world, she was awake and curious once more.
