Born to an eladrin woman, Malonne, who was married to a wealthy entrepeneur elf, Aimon Nerihorn. Aimon, furious at Malonne's infidelity, forced her to keep Grotto's existence a secret from the city of Whitestone. Growing up, Grotto never left the house unless accompanied by her tutor Farryn and a disguise spell. When Grotto was 20, Malonne died and Aimon kicked Grotto out. She went to work for the de Rolos, and began worshiping Ioun.
Since then, she's befriended Vesper, her bodyguard Almoris, Kava (who does not work for the de Rolos), and Esther and Rev. With this group, she's fought a Somnius targeting Gwendolyn, saved Ioun's angel Ibrix and made a pact with it, fought Rev and Esther's father Kyrn, a revived Ripley, and will soon fight Rye, mother of Esther and Rev and Vecna wannabe.
