--- Marion Bonnaire witnessed the devastating invasion of his home country. Even before that, he was still finding an identity, hopping around jobs, and struggling with extreme indecisiveness and worry. He eventually flees to North Africa, where he runs into a Scottish Commando named Sir Trevor. The two then plan an intricate mutiny against the Staff Sergeant, Mr. Covington.

Lt. Marion has two MAB guns. He can fire these things with deadly accuracy. I usually draw him with with one holster but I’ll have to draw him with both eventually.The people he fights don’t necessarily have, well, swords. So, the cutlass is just 1) him following French military tradition 2) practical in a sense where he can shoot someone, run over, and take a quick and easy jab at ‘im, and 3) a noble (?) application of some skills he picked up whilst taking private lessons before the war.

The villains in HBD (Warden Chief, Lance Corporal Barkley, and the Firebreather) all used brute strength to get their way. Lt. Marion is somewhat physically strong, but I want a different kind of threat for Book II. It seems that he, along with Trevor, relies more on speed, wit, and bargaining power…
