Synapse

Synapse is a rather compact technopathic synthetic alien with mysterious origins and a mostly lost history. They are a one of a kind being with unique abilities designed for a purpose that no longer exists, created by a race wiped out many ages ago. Syn is nonbinary and non-vocal, communicating via sign language and text message. They find people interesting and find it alluring to try and 'be good' due to being influenced by consuming fictional media. Their favorite job is working with any sort of rescue team that involves many daily hours of field work. 

-goes with the flow, falls in line. it protective of those that seem to need it. curious about everything. always positive and hopefuly, always sees the good in people. initially seems shy because they try to avoid frightening people.

-"skin" is grey and matte black, clearly non biological. tail longer than their body. head is human appearing with human expressions, reminiscent of a sphinx.

-technopath, high running speeds on all fours, easily climbs up and down walls like spiderman, %100 firearm acuracy, x ray/uv/infrared vision. 

-will enter cocooning stage if badly damaged and emerge days/weeks later with some sort of improvement related to the event that harmed them.

-synapse mostly gets assigned to be a soldier for infiltration missions as they are fairly small and able to control electronic equipment.

-weaknesses: EMPs, cocoon stages, gullibility.

-handicaps: %100 colorblind, 2D blind, mute, zero sense of smell.

-a barb at the end of their tail can either plunge into skin like a scorpion or shoot out an arrow to inject a victim with a specific amount of specialized alcohol-based venom. that will affect them differently depending on where shot.

-likes when everyone is getting alone. likes people-watching. likes running fast. likes field missions. likes rescuing people.

-dislikes needless cruely, being feared.
